The BYD For Those With Deep Pockets - Denza N7
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
A review of the Denza D7, the BYD for those with more to spend.
********
Denza has been a brand crying out for some care and attention, seemingly held back by having two owners with opposing ambitions. Now that BYD has taken a controlling stake, the brand that once brought you the egg-shaped 400 is finally unleashed and starting to hit its stride. Following the D9 MPV, the N7 is a sporty SUV targeted at those less of a family vibe and more personal ambition. Packed with tech and luxurious materials, and BYD's new in-house developed DiSus suspension, it's got all the credentials to be a winner, but can it put them all together? #china

The Denza n7 is a nice electric car with Mercedes interior, but china market has smart SDVs such as IM LS7, avatr11, xpeng G9 at the same price point. And now have robo-01. Of course, I've never ridden a denza before, so I don't know the ride quality. It might be attractive if it's more dominant in those areas. Like zeekr.

Based on my experience with it the ride was not great, and other reviewers concurred, though I think I heard a software update had been released to improve it. Lidar options are coming out too.
Thank you for another professional review!

Thankyou for the test sharing, always enjoys. Do you know if a ski hatch in the rear seat is an option?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I wanted to check the footage back. Seems it doesn't come as standard and I'd highly doubt it's an option at least here in China. No idea what they'll do abroad though, which some people have said is where they're going, so I think no for now but maybe in future.

@ralphruzomberok6361 Glad you like it and great to have you watching. I hope prices in Europe go down too and you get more choice, though I'm fairly sure that's on the way of the Chinese manufacturers have anything to do with it.
Nice!!

It is quite nice and I'm a bit more fond of it after giving it back, though some things are very curious choices, like that centre console. Don't know what they were thinking signing that off.
What about a review on the nio EL6, and the ET5T. (ET5 touring)

Working towards it. We should be getting an EL6 soon but it got pushed back.
Hello. Are there any hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles on the road in China? I know that Changan Shenlan SL03 hydrogen sedan should be on the market. Just wondering of you've seen any in the wild?
@InsideChinaAuto
8 ай бұрын
Haven't seen any, though I've seen a recent picture of a test car for a Great Wall Motors model not yet released. I don't think the Shenlan looks any different to the ordinary one and it costs about £100k so who would buy it I have no idea. Hydrogen refueling is not remotely common either.

Fuel Cell is dead end direction for most markets including those who invested heavily but had to close down bit by bit due to viability issues.

Is there a parcel shelf to cover the load area?

There wasn't on our car (weirdly most Chinese cars don't come with them) but I believe the spaces were there for one. I'll have to double check.

@johnsmith-cw3wo Ah good to know, I hadn't seen that confirmed. Interesting that they'll sell the MPV first because not many people buy them in Europe anymore.

Why does it look so much loke the BYD sealion 07 ? Or may o say the opposite somce the BYD is new

Certainly more than a few similarities there. Highly likely it's using the same platform, as many manufacturers do to save costs.
A lot of features for the price but the exterior design just doesn't work for me. Looks more like a front wheel drive economy car instead of a premium offering. Hopefully they can do better in a future iteration.

Yeah, the looks are a bit divisive on this one, especially those day time daytime running lights into the lower grille. Simpler might be better there, not sure.
Tried this one a month ago. A family car it is, not sporty at all.

Maybe its a surprise to you, but BYD or anything else Chinese is not beholden to behave in the way captain apartheid`s racist anti Chinese propaganda have indoctrinated you to believe.
Very good presentation, but a very bad product! Should have been a design alternative, improvement,0to the excellent Xpeng G6, on the SEPA2.0 chassis. Very bad to add this poor alternative. If it is 37 times worse than the Xpeng G9 650 Max, is it 37 times cheaper? Have few very bad things that others have done differently but some ideas realized here should be accessible by Yangwang and Xpeng... Why working badly alone ? No one can ever make Justice by himself!
@InsideChinaAuto

The product itself is actually quite decent and it does feel premium, it just has some very weird choices and the suspension is nowhere near what was expected, though I think I read that a software update had improved it. Not sure. Not a fan of the smoker's lounge cream though, a bit too yellow for me.
