The Bull Roars Again | June 17th | America's Cup

Спорт

From catastrophic mast failure on Thursday 13th June to back on the water, looking as good as new, on Monday 17th June. Alinghi Red Bull Racing’s shore team pulled together and delivered a most remarkable turn-around to recover and keep the whole programme on track. An heroic effort for sure by so many, what was proven was the team’s resilience and depth of talent - hallmarks of their campaign to date - and a very welcome sight out on the Barcelona waterfront.

THANK YOU for doing these daily Q&A. I know you're trying to get them to "spill the beans", but they are pretty smart at avoiding giveng secrets away. But it is cool to see the different boats and approaches!

So good to see how far Jason has come from his Opti days in Tauranga. He has a second employment option when he retires. Politican. Can talk for ages answering questions and say nothing. Seems to be a course all sailing spokes people go to. Pete has taught him well.

This looks better than the last set up. The main doesn’t have the overbend creases on it coming from the clew so less mast bend there!

It's amazing, how less spray the new foils produce, means less resistance, compared to the last cup.

I think that US and UK are diametrically opposite in hull design. Britannia has the most volume and therefore most aerodynamic drag, while AM is very sleek and slippery. Not sure how much difference it will make, since other factors are involved, but I can’t see Britannia being competitive.
