As long as Josh Allen doesn’t die, the Bills will always be contenders

The Bills lost Stefon Diggs, who dropped off a cliff for the second half of 2023. They let Gabe Davis walk. Gabe's problem was that he couldn't catch the ball. So many drops. As a Bills fan it was maddening to hear what a great blocker he was. That's nice, but he was hired to catch the ball. They let Tre White walk. I love Tre, but after the torn ACL in 2021 and the Achilles blowout in 2024, the chances of him returning to pre-2021 form are slim. They let Hyde & Poyer walk, but both of those guys are over 30 years old and both had lost a step. They're not the same safety tandem they were three years ago. They're being replaced with Taylor Rapp, Mike Edwards, Damar Hamlin, and the new rookie, Cole Bishop. That's a pretty solid safety room. Maybe the most significant loss was MItch Morris. He is a good center, but he did get beat fairly often during the 2023 season. Between Connor McGovern and Sedrick Van Pran-Granger I think they'll be fine at center. Now we look at who will be playing those spots. They have Christian Benford and Rasul Douglas as starting CBs. Douglas is a monster and Benford looked really good last year. Taron Johnson is one of the best slot corners in the league. They have Terrel Bernard & Matt Milano. Milano is one of the best OLBs in the league and Bernard looked extremely good last year too. Matt was out with injury for most of last season. They strengthened their DL this year. They still have Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones. They're both very good. The only question in this defense is DE. Epenesa, Rousseau, & Von Miller all need to step up. Epenesa did look very good until he suffered a rib injury late last year. Before the injury he was statistically one of the best DEs in the league. Afterwards, not so much. The offense is pretty much the same aside from some ads at guard and the WR room. Given that Brady was able turn the team around after Ken Dorsey was fired I think we're OK there. After all, he did so with Stefon Diggs not having a signle 100+ yard game and only catching one TD pass in the second half of the season. Look for the Bills to have a more run heavy offense to draw more defenders into the box. Everybody has played man coverage in a two high safety look. That doesn't work so well against a strong ground game. And once opponents are stacked up in the box, look for Allen to uncork the cannon downfield. The demise of rhe Bills is highly overrated. They're still the team to beat in the AFCE.

Agreed. Dolphins lost several people on defense so they’re more vulnerable there, and who knows how Rodgers will fare as a 40-year-old coming off a torn Achilles.

Something else to think about is that while we are back to the Bills playing in Miami in September it's going to be a Thursday night game. The Dolphins cannot count on lounging in the shade while their death ray stadium cooks the opposing team. I think that the Bills sweep the Dolphins again in 2024.

@@skippythetubrat I actually didn’t know that it was on TNF, so yeah, their home-field advantage will be lessened.

Douglas, Johnson & Benford are all returning and Hyde & Poyer were both old, slow and injury prone... it was time to upgrade, which they did with Bishop & Rapp.

Kincaid is Buffalo's WR1, just like Kelce is WR1 in KC.

Seeing everyone bury the bills so early proves nobody looks at context just headlines. The bills will be just fine and win their division yet again

Respect for creating content young man. You can't start with the Bills are done for and then conclude with they will win 11-12 games and win the division. Click bait titles won't result in a successful channel.

As a bills fan, with all the players we cut after having them on the team for years and still couldn’t get to the supper bowl or past the chiefs with those said players. I think it’s actually a good thing we got rid of them cause this is maybe what the team needs, get new players in the draft and free agency who could be that hidden talent. we got younger on defense which actually will be a good thing in the long run rather than keeping the same guys who been their for years and obviously we couldn’t get it done with those said players so maybe getting younger on defense and some on offense this may be what the team needs and it may actually work out.

Are you still mad that we got Rasul Douglas. Like idk why everyone has to act like we fell off because we let go of older guys and guys that couldn't stayhealthy or people that were just plain out cap casualties. Every team has to do it eventually.

First off young man, I completely respect that you are passionate about sports and you're dedicated to producing content at such a young age..keep it up!! But now concerning the Bills: You must dig deeper if you are to understand what they did this offseason. They shed many well known names with significant enough contracts to get them under the cap. But nearly every single notable player had huge drop offs in production. Jordon Poyer, Micha Hyde, Trey White, Gabe Davis (not a true number 2 WR), Nyheim Hines, Deonte Harty, Siran Neal, and yes, even Stefon Diggs (averaged barely more than 40 yards per game his last 10 games, dropped a ball in the playoffs that cost them the game). None of these players made significant contributions to the bills turnaround to make the playoffs last year. The biggest productive loss was Mitch Morse. The players the Bills signed in free agency to replace the names above all had more production last year with their former teams. Don't write the Bills out. They grew in production, got under the cap, and had a good draft. They may be the most underrated team in the NFL right now.

Nice vid, in my opinion, the Bills had to release several players to get back under the salary cap. Brandon Beane mentioned that they aim to win now while also remaining contenders for the future. If they hadn't made these cuts, they would have faced even more severe financial issues, necessitating further player releases. It was a tough decision, but it was necessary. Despite the offseason adjustments, I believe they still have a strong chance of contending, but only time will tell.

Can Brett Farve 2.0 cut down on his turnovers though?? 18 Ints last season, he leads in turnovers for past 3seasons now?? Elite talent, must watch, yet missed Diggs on a crossing route, had to throw quick Chris Jones closed in.. just short of Shakir wide open back of endzone I wanna see Ray Davis this upcoming season, notice when bills decided to run the ball it worked? Won games saved their season With a wise well coached defense.. simple formula to win games That said though, I feel Jets win division.. top 5 defense last year with wilson at qb, they upgraded Oline, Hall is a beast at RB, so is Wilson at Wr.. yes we know its all about Rodgers staying healthy which I say happens Their defense is one of the most talented

Allen’s best year for turnovers was also the Bills best year in drop %, coincidence? They were only middle of the pack in 2020 in drop % but Allen had an mvp season. I’m not saying Allen never makes a boneheaded decision but the drops seem to lead to him forcing it more. If we could just be average in drops, I think you would see Allen’s turnovers substantially lessen. Even in that playoff game. Allen threw a dime downfield to Diggs and right through his hands. He threw at least one more to Sherfield. Mahomes threw down field and his guy caught it. Mahomes missed throws in that game, just like Allen, but when push came to shove KC pass catchers made the play. Bills pass catchers didn’t.
