Elizabeth was never there at her execution, and it was confined in the walls of the tower with only a few people to watch. She was also wearing a black clok with a red petty coat underneath, the executioner only took one blow and her head came off. The only thing that was messed up about it was that when the executioner lifted her head her wig came off and rolled to the ground. Elizabeth and Mary never met but Elizabeth did call Mary her "sister", she lived in a castle in England not a prison, she was also allowed to ride horses and walk about in the garden.

@@thalmoragent9344 She (Elizabeth) was under suspicion for instigating a rebellion during her sister's (Mary Tudor's) reign. For context Mary Tudor was set on marrying Phillip of Spain as such the sparked a rebellion of protestant lords in kent (Sir Thomas Wyatt) and Elizabeth was used as a figurehead for it. The plan was to overthrow Mary, put Elizabeth on the Throne and then marry her off to an English noble. Of course it failed and Mary's advisors pushed Mary into signing Elizabeth's execution warrent but because they had little evidence they decided to send her to the Tower for interrogation.

Mary’s execution was brutal, the executioner missed her neck the first blow, but Elizabeth was never there. Elizabeth was appalled, sad and very troubled by the actions of her traitorous cousin, and she almost couldn’t sign the death warrant. After the execution, Mary’s puppy appeared as it was hiding under her dress, and it was very sad.

Elizabeth and Mary never met or had a conversation like its implied at 6:25 Mary was "in prison", but was more under House Arrest and couldn't leave the castle she was in (far away from London) It was rumored that the "plot to overthrow Elizabeth" might have been false, created by Elizabeth's advisors who were in favor of executing Mary. What sad is Elizabeth didn't want to execute her because they were not only Cousins, but friends. So much so that Mary named Elizabeth as her son's Godmother. Its said that Elizabeth wrote multiple orders to execute Mary over the years, but then took the orders back and burned them. Now they rest next to each other at Westminster Abby in London.
"Isn't he a little too busy with you know... 'divorcing' his wifes?" Is hilarious
Mary and Elizabeth never met in person and Elizabeth definitely did not preside over her execution. Mary’s black outfit was an outer garment that she removed revealing a red outfit underneath - red being the color of a Catholic martyr. And what’s with the guillotines in the background? It wasn’t invented for another 200 years. Normally I really enjoy your shows but you really dropped the ball on this one.

The struggles of Mary Queen of Scots are truly captivating. It's a testament to her resilience in the face of adversity. Her journey is both tragic and inspiring. Thanks for sharing this fascinating piece of history.
Mary Queen of Scots was not so much imprisoned as housed in a castle (two actually), in England -- in Sheffield, England, to be precise. The castle no longer stands, but its site is now known as Castlegate ("gate" here meaning "street") and the other site was at Manor Lodge, also in Sheffield.
Elizabeth was not at Mary's execution and was said to be distraught at the thought of killing of her cousin and fellow Queen.

And here goes the main flaw of monarchy: if the eldest is heir to the throne, then as soon as his siblings get married to the eldest child of another RF, a knife comes in. Perfect recipe for espionage, war, monarchs getting murdered by their rivals, whatever else it takes to get rid of one's country, or just taking an army of pikemen, crossbowmen, horse archers, catapults, warships, then going on a rampage and conquering everything. When the peace is made, the elder has nothing but a few square miles of land, while the other has all the surrounding lands. Or, if the attempt to usurp the way to his throne fails, more siblings ally up and try to get rid of his elder brother/sister. Then, they split the country, get married, have children, and here we go again.
