Thanks so much for reviving a dying art and passing it on to the young women of today. I'm 58 and I remember my (much) older sister setting my hair in a wet set for special occasions, like my yearly school pictures, or parties. Watching you brings back such happy memories of my sister. She was so kind to me. I really appreciate the brush-out information, I never got that hang of that. Please continue to be awesome.

Aw...thanks so much! :D I hope that myself and girls like me can keep it going for a long long time cuz I can't live without my wet sets! lol ~hugs~
This was THE most helpful video on this I have I ever seen. Finally realised why my hair ends up looking awful!

Girl do you realize you just ooze fabulous? Seriously, you are amazing. I love this video. What a fantastic concept. We all talk about brushing out a set like it's something everyone knows how to do. You breaking down the basics is fantastic. I wish someone had done this when I was learning! Much love to you XOXO
*The light dawns* I can't wait to try this! I had no idea about brushing out. I watched you take a brush to those curls with wide and disbelieving eyes LOL!! Wouldn't have dreamed of doing that ever. Thanks so much :D

Seconded!! Four years later I am slowly but surely watching all your videos! I’ve learned so much already and can’t wait to get my hands dirty :) I have some of the products you recommended in the mail! Too excited. Thanks a ton
You can use perm papers with a wet set to help get the ends tucked in smoothly, without accidentally compressing the foam rollers too much.

My mom used to use those on me when I was a kid and she would roller set me!! :)
This and its companion video are the BEST wet set tutorials i have seen. You're adorable and you explain things in such detail. I think maybe now i can succeed at a wet set that isn't a mess of frizz.
Oh this turned out so beautiful . I love the hair styles that are done with rollers or pin curls . They are my favorite . I just love the transformations that our hair goes through from un-rolling the curlers or pin curls , to the brush out - start to finish . Really during that brush out , the curls just change so much , and I really love watching that part , and to see what we finally end up with . Love this tutorial . I get super happy when I see a wet set tutorial come along . Beautiful !!
The best brush out tutorial I've seen. You explain why you do things they way you do. It makes so much sense. Love your style!
This is such a great video for all of us , but especially for those of us still learning . So many of us have set our hair in rollers , or pin curls , slept on them all night , and then in the morning , when we start to do the brush out , we find we have a frizzy hair do , and get frustrated and wash it . Watching this video you show us how the hair goes through the transformation of the brush out , from frizzy to the finished vintage style that we were trying to achieve . You're so talented :)
Yay! I love wet sets but when learning them they can cause a lot of frustration! When I first started I had issues with giant frizzy hair, hair that didn't dry and went limp in the morning, and a few more. lol So I wanted to share the easy tricks I learned to get a great result. :D Let me know how you get on with a wet set and if you have any questions. I'm glad you found me!
Coming from a dad that has now watched this video several times in a row, I can say it has helped me out a lot with my daughter's hair. Still learning though
Oh wow, I just discovered your channel! I'm in vintage hair heaven! I LOVE how you explain everything so just a regular gal can follow!

seeing you brush out and talk about the waved with a set its very informative ! I struggle to do a set and brush out because I've no one to teach me. Thank you for the info !
Aw...thanks so much! :D I'm so tickled you're enjoying my videos and finding them helpful!
Trying foam rollers for the first time! I can't wait to see how they come out! I would love to send you a picture since your video is what braved me to try this since my hair is thin and straight. You are awesome! Loves ya Jen!
Thank you so much! I ordered a set of foam rollers a couple days ago because nothing but a wet set will give me a lasting curl, and my Velcro rollers were impossible to sleep in! Perfect timing with the tute :) Thanks so much lovely lady xx
love your videos and your personality!
Brilliant! Many years later, thank you so much!!!
Love it. Beautiful as always
You make me feel like curling my hair everyday....love you're looks
Would love to see a brand new, revamped version of the "how to wet set" videos!
I'm so happy you enjoyed it! For hard to control baby hairs you can try clipping them back when your rolling your hair, that way they hold their position a bit better after you hairspray them. I hope that helps!
You make this look so easy!!!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial for a foam roller brush out. Now I know how to correct the problems my sister and I have had in the past. I am new to your channel and I absolutely love it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Lori Zarate Yay! :D
You know this is so similar to how my curls came out. Brushing definitely is key for someone with thick, thick hair!! Thanks for showing how you can get awesome retro curls without having to pincurl! :)
I have watched your wet foam roller set and this current video and finally decided to give it a go yesterday night. This morning I took out the rollers, watched this video again and gave my hair a good brushing. I am not very patient with my hair that is why I have not tried it before. I guess the patience was worth it this morning...got me plenty of compliments. I do think my hair is too thin for the size I used but I will get that fixed with bigger rollers. I used liquid silk to help tame the frizz and liquid spray gel as a setting lotion...and the curls held on all day, including the first car ride with window's down this year (Montreal....cold!). Thank you very much for your funny go-getter video's!! Love them!!

Yay!!! :D I tend to use my larger rollers a lot more as well...I'll just lightly roll the hair around the roller and in the morning I get strong but not as tight curls (makes for easier brushing out).
just found your channel a few days ago and you have taught me so much already Going to buy some spund rollers today. Thanks

Thanks for your useful tips... i will try that out. I still try to fix my flat thick frizzy hair in something what you Show.. sometimes it works.. sometimes not... still learning how to do this and that. Thanks !
Yay! :D I love foam rollers, it's probably the method I use the most. I've never tried velcro before but I've heard they're good if your using a bonet dryer! I'm happy you found this video helpful! :D
I've tried using foam rollers and didn't know what to do with them so I'm going to try this! Thanks!

Yay! I'm obsessed with foam rollers and they curl payoff you get so I'm thrilled you'll be trying yours! I'd love to see/hear how it worked out for you! :D
It's like magic!
lol...you gotta show it who's boss! Vigorous brushing is actually good for the hair (as long as your not pulling it out by brushing to hard), it invigorates the scalp and promotes hair growth!
You're a hair genius! X
I love your video and I learned a lot. I must say that if I brushed that much, I would brush out all the curl! I have fine , slightly wavy hair.
I finally broke down and went on eBay and bought some Lottabody. OMG I LOVE IT!! No crunchies, sticky or gross bits, holds the curl fabulously and doesn't stink! Have found the setting lotion that I will use as long as I can get it!

Mary Hudson gulp...that is crazy pricey! :/ I'm going to be trying some homemade setting lotion so if I find something fab I'll be sure to do a video on it! :D
Your brushing is so intense! You really show that hair who's boss. I'm laughing because I have been known to get a bit rough with mine at times. Though I try not to do that now that I'm wanting to keep it pretty long and grow it out even a little more.
:D I'm glad you found it helpful! It took me a couple frizzy hairstyles to learn that lesson...lol!
Love this style! I do something similar for work but I only roll to the nape of my neck, slightly 30s style. I might try the argan oil trick, my hair can get very dry when I wet set it on foam rollers.
