    The way he took care of his brother; like a father; is a credit to his character and his entire family. When asked Nate if he faced bullying, beat up and picked on as a kid he just gave the most genuine smile " No, I had a big brother". That's love.

    And when he asked that you can hear nick say no I’m not. Damn it’s so messed up how the ufc and Dana took advantage of these guys and never even paid them a legitimate amount. Nick was a more real Conor mcgregor way before Conor was around. They didn’t want someone from the hood to be the face of the ufc and Nick was just to real. They kept him down and ruined his prime because of thc. When the man he fought was on steroids and got not even a year

    @@jasonv6319 I can see why you think that but really conor and mates stories are not that different. Stockton is hard place to grow up but the same for conor in Crumlin Dublin its known as one of the worst parts of Ireland. He was relentlessly buried growing up its why he got into fighting. I don't see Connor as the bully he just decided he would be the hammer and not the nail its the same as nate.

  • @erickane8163

    @erickane8163

    @@LewReviews I'm from tallaght Dublin, this part of the city is fucking rough, in my old neighborhood just last week a youngfella stabbed and killed his two sisters and brother who were kids. My ma now lives in another spot around the corner where a man a few months ago was shot 3 times while walking with his 4 month old son in a pram. I've seen some bad things and had some bad things done to me and my friends. Its inevitable that some nasty shit happens to you or someone close at some point I think. I say all that just to emphasize that Connor really had come from a fucking hard place, I actually train in the old gym by coincidence, I can only imagine back in the day, the desperation of wanting it and being one of the very few Irish people trying against all odds to get into the UFC and have an impact, almost nobody here would have been in his corner to support his dreams it wouldn't have even been on anybody's radar as a possibility, most would probably just laugh at him. Watching his rise trough the UFC was insane and I got on fairly early and it was a part of the reason I decided a few years ago to start training that instead of other sports. I love the Diaz brothers too and I can imagine the suffering they went through in Stockton must have been fucking treacherous. I hate this "Diaz brothers are stupid bleeders" or "mctapper is a bitch" shit. All 3 of them are animals who climbed to the top and ended up pitted against one another. Even if you dont like a fighter you should have respect for all people who will get in a cage against another human to try and break eachother apart. Im sick of the casual fan bullshit where the pre fight press conference is where they decide if they like someone or not, thats all a show.

    This is sad almost brought tears to my eyes. Nick reminds me of my older brother who passed away. He kept me out of trouble and guided me with wisdom. Although his life was hard and more hectic he went out of his way to make sure I was always okay and that’s exactly what nick does. Nate Diaz’s goal is probably to make nick proud and I’m sure he has done that and more.

    I have watched this documentary so many times, but one thing that stood out to me was the brotherhood that Nick and Nate have for each other, the unconditional love that no other brothers at their young age had. They aren't just two brothers at odd with each other, they are like father and son. Nick helped guide his little brother through the troubled life of Stockton, while Nate become their financial support for his brother while he is in his probation. Their love and care for one another is thicker than blood; through their own anxiety, struggle and frustration, they became something special together. They became icons, legends and most importantly, a family at the end of the day. Through good times and bad times, I wished nothing but good luck to the Diaz brothers. I'll be waiting to the day they inducted to the Hall of Fame. God bless their heart and soul!

    I remember getting Nick's autograph on a blockbuster receipt in Lodi in the early 2000's. I've had many instances where I've been in the company of him and his brother Nate. I'm telling you, first hand, that the negative publicity is all a fucking sham. Those dudes are of the most respectful and respectable I've ever met. They are true martial artists. And they are the best fighters that have ever entered the octagon. I liked this video. Someone took the time to do the research to give these gentleman some of the respect they deserve. The respect they have earned. Love and Respect from the 209.

    I couldn't agree with you more about Nate and Nick and the media's portrayals. I've met them over a dozen times running into them when I lived in Tracy/Modesto area. My favorite instance when I ran into Nate at BJ's in Stockton. My Aunt and I were there eating dinner right after a Stockton thunder game. I saw Nate with a bunch of people eating I waited for him to finish before I walked over and asked him if we could take a picture with him. He asked me where we were sitting I showed him he walked right over and sat down with us and took the picture and after that he spent about 10 minutes with us talking about random stuff but his engagement the whole time was so cool.

    This documentary got me a lot more emotional than I thought. I grew up with self confidence issues and it was tough to deal with because I looked to my brother for someone to confide in, but my relationship with my brother was rough because he dealt with a lot of issues with getting bullied. We played a lot of sports but never fell in love with any of them until he found wrestling when he was in 7th grade and I was in 5th grade. The next year he got me to start doing it, I was overweight and my relationship with him was close to its worst, but that first year of wrestling taught me more than I could have ever expected. It wasn't until my first year of middle school when I started also playing pop warner that I lost my weight and I really started to get close with my brother. The way Nick dealt with bullying and wanted to protect his little brother from pain in life and how Nate worked towards, idolized, and wanted the best for his brother is how my brother and I relationship evolved through the extreme struggles we faced in family, life and competition. I also got two little brothers that taught me what it feels like to see someone you truly love learn the struggles of life, and it taught me how amazing it is to help them find what they love in life, and teach them how to face life healthily. The Diaz's brothers story is one that I view as one of the most tragic, misunderstood, and inspirational in the history of sports, and its not even finished. I related to their story more than anything I've ever known and I think everyone should understand and learn from their outlook on life because they are some of the most misunderstood and underappreciated people in sports. This was incredibly difficult to write as I was writing through tears, but this is the first time I've ever felt the need to express myself like this in a comment for anything ever. I also wanted to ad just how much wrestling and combat sports saved me. I had so many personal issues, and I still do, but now I know who I am, I know who the person I want to be is, I know the mentality I want to have towards life and the loved ones around me, and I have my brothers and my love for combat sports/martial arts that stemmed from wrestling to thank for that.

    15:25: the pain in Nick's voice and eyes was palpable when he was speaking about his brother. Then when Ariel was reading that statement to Nate, he seemed just as upset as his brother. That honestly hurts to watch. I wish my brother and I were anywhere near as close to each other as the Diaz brothers are. That's a next-level version of loyalty and love. If nothing else, they will always have each other, and that's a gift that many people could only dream of. Every time Nate Diaz is interviewed post fights, he always shouts out his brother and calls him the best fighter on earth.

    Came into MMA way too late to know this much about Nick, that shit is heart breaking. I never saw him fight (live) until the Lawler fight, but his interviews made me a fan basically immediately. Nate never really got me in that way, I always thought it was weird how everyone kept referring to him as 'the realest' when it seemed like he sorta tried too hard, but Nick resonated immediately. Now having heard both of their stories, I have immense respect and empathy for Nick. I have a lot more for Nate too, and a bit more understanding why he is the way he is. I really like Tony, I wish Nate did that to Chimaev as the biggest fuck you in history on his way out, but I'm glad they both got to fight a legend. Hope Nick finds happiness, I pretty much felt shit the entire day after listening to this, guy seems like a one in a million good dude but life keeps shitting on him.

We might fight each other (and have on 4 occasions) but bet nobody touches him without me n vice versa. You may feel you shoulda done more as a big brother, but I bet if you asked him he'd say you did just fine. Big brothers always get the praise, little brothers get the pure toughness. You helped create a warrior by being a warrior yourself. Us little brothers just watched n learned before we ran with the ball ourselves. Stay up.

    @@kingjamesfromthekingjamesbible We ALL have a friend ..... In Jesus Christ Search Why must I be born again Charles Lawson Only 36min and is the BEST investment one can make Here is my short testimony John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony” I was guided to church May 15th 2016, God led me there, and had it all planned. Two elders sat at the back, I was by the back door able to make my escape if necessary. Never knew God, never read the Bible, never heard the clear Gospel till this Sunday evening prayer night. I was lead to All Nations that morning by the Lord. He guided me at 27 years old to take a leap of faith and granted me the gift of saving faith that Sunday evening when I humbly prayed with 3 elders and whole-heartedly accepted Christ into my life. The flood came down as unexplainable as it can be, the precious blood of Christ cleansing me. Amazing the guilt, the shame, the regret the pain all washed away in His precious blood. WORTHY IS THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN; who wrote my name in the BOOK OF LIFE! Hallelujah Wrote this poem in 10 minutes one night never read it until I woke up hours later in the morning! Never has been changed or altered! Blows my mind! . .Bring my soul out of prison. . Psalm 142:7 "Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me" (Scripture that led me to put pen to paper that night at 2am) “Bring my soul out of prison” Examining life, from a better place at last Looking into the mirror, mirror of the past Choosing to submit, not knowing what was there Did I know of a greater power? Did I even really care? Running through my thoughts, searching but for what? My soul imprisoned, will the doors all remain shut? Plotting against me, the father of lies Delighted in my sorrow, taking pleasure in my cries Voices on the attack, keeping me in a hole Heartache and agony inside, so I chose to numb my soul Was blinded by darkness, was deceived; but how? Was not capable to see then, what is so clear to see now Was directed towards isolation, told I was all alone Implying "you are your own master", "you can do it on your own" Somewhere within, even certain it was a lie Reaching down again, giving it another try But my God is faithful, even when I am not He was always there, me He never forgot Walking through the darkness, a light starts to shine With a voice calling out, son you are mine! Softening a hardened heart, freeing an imprisoned soul Erasing the shame the guilt, pulling me from the hole By giving up control, proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Savior! He took away those voices, negative thoughts and behavior Bought by the blood of Christ, in full He paid my debt Something to be grateful for, something to never forget Lost and searching my whole life, not knowing what for I now know Lord Jesus, He opens up the door Through this door, lays a straight and narrow path Salvation is mine! Trust in God; peace at last! For He is "the way, the truth and the life" In heaven with the Father, seated at the right Wrapped in His robe of righteousness, embraced in perfect love Unconditional love like this, truly comes from above Out of prison came my soul, as miraculous as it can be As His word states: “And you shall know the truth, And the truth shall make you free." Oct 1st 2016 MB Saved by the Grace of God May 15th 2016 Thank you Jesus! Praise you Lord! Hallelujah!

    This was one of the most emotional fkn documentaries that I have literally ever seen about 2 brothers. From Nick's loss of a love and trying to protect his brother to Nate almost going down the wrong path tocbecoming a legend himself only for the machine to bring him back down.
