Brock walked off the field with the lead in ot. Defense didn't hold. What else do people want. It's ridiculous. Why does it matter where he was drafted and he doesn’t look like Herbert. He has elite processing skills. The hate just needs to be ignored. He has played a year and a half and went to a superbowl.

What people forget is that by not being drafted by the NFL Brock Purdy cast a big question mark on the millions of dollar operation of the NFL Draft. The off season draft combine & Draft Day Carnival is probably second only to the playoff season & Superbowl. The Draft Day Carnival is a big deal until the regular football season starts. Each NFL team from my understanding invests a lot of manpower and money in scouting players for the draft. When a Brock Purdy appears out of no where all sorts of questions pop up such as "how could have teams missed this guy." I would bet owners ask this question because they have to pay extra for the personnel to analyze players for the draft, which as owners they prefer not to do if it is not necessary. In conclusion PFF (maybe product of NFL headquarters in New York) hates Brock Purdy because he challenges the efficacy of whether or not the NFL draft process is a worthwhile venture.

I think the refusal to accept Brock to be as good as the facts say he is, is pretty easily explained: he doesn’t look like or act like an action movie star. I think most fans and even analysts let their idolization and worship of these guys color their idea of how good they actually are or how good the team is. Hence why they’ll rank guys over Purdy who are objectively worse. They are flashier and “look better” at being worse and people fall for it left and right. I think it really is that shallow and superficial. But if you actually watch the game for the love of the game and call things how you see it, you’ll find yourself having opinions on players that pretty often are contrary to others. I’m not saying that it isn’t fun to admire some of these guys and their ridiculous abilities but don’t let it cloud what is actually happening on the field when it comes to winning or losing. Like someone already pointed out, Josh Allen is incredibly fun to watch…continuously and reliably choke and throw big games away. And I mean that sincerely - he’s a great talent and a ton of fun to watch, and it can’t be argued that he keeps choking or making the bonehead play or trying to do too much in these big spots. But I think that excitement factor, even as he continuously fails in the big games, is enough to cloud people’s judgement so much they’ll rank him over Purdy as “elite” and won’t hold over his head the talent that surrounds him like they will with Brock.

@@ninerempire3398 Stafford had a super team built around him to win the SB. Hurts has arguably the same type of star filled team that purdy has, and hurts has an o line leagues above purdys. Dak has had a top 5 defense, a good o line, and top receivers for a long time. Stroud deserves praise for winning a playoff game with who he had. On paper, Herbert had good teams around him they just fell short. Jimmy G has won 5 playoff games, but he was a backup in NE for 1 of them so im giving him 4. Out of the 4 playoff games he started and finished, name me one game where he played good. 2019 against Vikings and GB, he threw for a combined 208 yards (we ran the ball in both games). In the superbowl, we were running it in the chiefs throats until Shan decided to use jimmy and have him throw more (thats when the tables turned and KC took advantage). 2021 we played against the cowboys and we were destroying them, jimmy threw some dumb balls and an int to keep the game close. Against GB, Jimmy threw more dumb balls and couldnt even throw a TD in that game. In both of those games he threw 0 Tds and 2 ints. Then we played the rams, probably the best playoff performance in his life. Threw for 2 tds and 1 int, but still wasnt enough to get us over the hump so we lost and LA won the SB. So name me one good playoff game that you could say with your chest “we won that cuz of jimmy”. Dont ever compare Brock to Jimmy, its night and day. What is happening to Brock is the same thing that happened to Tom Brady for years from Chris Simms. Unfortunately Brady could never find any kind of redemption in Simms eyes and that has been going on for years. Sims ranking of Brady looked like that he was on the sidelines wishing for years for Brady to eventually fall off a cliff. We all know now that fall never happened. Right now it is looking more and more as Purdy is the new Brady in Simms books. Simms talking points about Purdy look more and more like the ones that were used to downgrade Brady for years and unfortunately it loooks more and more like the MO used on Brady is going to be used against Purdy.

Because he's not elite, he's not Patrick Mahommes, or joe burrow or even Matthew Stafford. He's a really good QB, not great it's the people who try and say he's MVP quality and he's not. Wow one year of Stroud and he's now top notch. How about Baker Mayfield, he had a really good year in Cleveland. Let these young QBS play without the expectations which aren't realistic. Do you think Purdy would be a top 5 QB with the Panthers?

The Brock Purdy hate is 100% wrong, but it is understandable. I'm commenting today, not hoping to make friends. I'm speaking to be honest about what I see. The NFL is a Black player dominated league. Many coaches are Black, as are many commentators. THEY HAVE NO INTEREST OR DESIRE TO SEE A WHITE QB SUCCEED. I think it is obvious that Purdy can play the QB position at a high level. Over the course of last season, he was ranked in the top 5 in several important categories and took his team to within 2 flubbed plays of a super bowl victory. Do you think so many in NFL would discount Purdy's accomplishments if he were Black? Case closed.

Yall really trying to make purdy the great white hype. Lol.. Facts is you cant win a sb with a starting white RB,TE, FB, MId QB, and you nevrr pick a white WR in the first round. This aint the 50s, cant have this many white dudes starting on offense. This aint the 50s. And now with the 95 percent all white coaching staff means 0 sb wins. Whole white media and the niner staff pretty much played Trey for his job. Niners wont recover from that. Btw most teams who lose the sb , dont make it back to the bowl or even the playoffs. Go chiefs. Imagine kyles biased towards black QBs, that he pass up on mahomes just too lose 2 sbs to the guy who was to black to be your starting QB. Shoutout to Andy Ried for supporting Black QBs.

Brock Purdy has benefited from a weaker division the past 3 years. The 49ers have benefitted in the draft more than any other team in the NFL by utilizing their minority coaches for head coaching jobs. Nobody talks about that… Brock Purdy is just a guy like Jimmy G. When you watch Purdy on TV, he doesn’t look elite. Too many of his completions go to CMC, too many swing passes, when he goes outside the pocket to make plays, he looks terrible when playing defenses such as Browns.. Ravens… AFC Teams.. but looks like a stud against the Cardinals defense… watch the 49ers vs Jets game to open the season. Purdy will look nothing like a high ceiling quarterback like Josh Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, etc
