I hope this sets a precedent for more 140 Precision Frame HCs, aside from just Luna's and Not Forgotten. The 140 RPM class of HC has always felt like what I would expect of a "precision" weapon, powerful when used, but punishing if used improperly. So I hope Bungie takes this feedback and runs with it.

Yeah I did have a bit of a play with Subsistence-MagHowl in PvE but found it was basically a whole lot of effort to get (very) slightly more damage than my old igneous with Subsistence-Rampagex3 and it was too easy to end up losing them and having to go through it all over again. More interested in going for the Subsistence-Incandescent for PvE personally to avoid ever having to reload (much like the igneous).

I feel like subsistance would be better with that. You are getting tons of healing anyway with PS, with subsistance against easier enemies you are able to never reload (each kill refunds 2 ammo).

@@HerrSchemmey Heal clip with a 2.5sec reload just feels strange to me, especially since the ammo is at the end of the animation so you can't even reload early. It's nice to have a pocket heal but I'm stunning myself for 2 seconds each time.

I guarantee once the final shape drops we're gonna see a whole lot of Not Forgotten's. To be better than NF, you literally have to get a 5/5 Lunas Howl and most people aren't gonna be that lucky. I saved up over 500 brave trophies and didn't even get a good Lunas, let alone the god roll.

The visual recoil of its original frame is what sells it for me. 140s tend to be in this awkward spot of too much visual recoil and *just* enough RoF to throw your aim off if you're firing at full speed. The gun visually settling faster helps a ton with hitting those chained precision hits.

In my experience it’s the opposite, it’s quite difficult to see the target when you aren’t pacing every shot.

As you mentioned, using magnificent howl with even the one stack as a "kill clip on demand" has been incredibly nice in PvP. I learned the hard way that trying to get greedy with stacks was too high risk. Aiming for two or three is the sweet spot for me, or even the one, and you're still racking up kills. The ease of use is fantastic, so I highly recommend to anyone that hasn't gotten into HCs before.

For me 3 mag howl shots is the sweet spot allows for back to back 2 taps and its a lot easier to stack 3 mag howl shots than going for 5/6/7. And even just having 1 stack is incredibly useful for my next gun fight allowing me to 3 tap out past 40m. I love mag howl in 6s and even clash comp but in Trials or other round based modes I'll stick with Thorn/Hawkmoon/Iggy.

Your guides are always so helpful and informative and never feel forced. As a casual player, it really helps me long term to have a outlook on what the weapon offers from both PvP and PvE standpoints. It cuts down on a lot of time spent on something my may not even want pr want to use later. Can never thank you enough for all the hard work you do. You are a blessing to the Destiny Community ✨️

This is one of those reviews that reminds me why I follow you. I clocked how MagHowl worked in the crucible, how utterly mediocre it was in PVE even with Lucky Pants, and how great the heal clip/incandescent roll is for PVE before I saw this review. That sets a precedent for accuracy. So when I hear explanations for stuff that I didn't see right away, I know I can trust that info. I'm now looking forward to finding a 71 range Precision Instrument/Encore Luna's Howl thanks to you. Back to the grind!

Not having epochal integration in the title is CRIMINAL. It has double accuracy perks and it feels very, very good (although i will say lunas feels much better in the air)

I adore epochal. It's my main hc since I run solar like 80% of the time so it works for me in both pve and pvp. However, in pvp, Epochal lacks something that Luna's has in spades: lethality. EI is built for consistency; just existing in your optimal range gives stat bumps and when EotS triggers, you get even more accurate. Luna has the ability to get bonuses to accuracy *and* damage with one being one the the highest damage bonuses in the game (only other perk that can give a 50% damage bonus is golden tricorn). They both have their place and they both feel phenomenal, it's just a matter of what you're looking for. Plus Epochal is static, the roll being compared is a bit iffy when Luna and Zaoili both have a bigger pool of options.

I really don't see epochal getting enough love. As a hand cannon lover, I just hit 16,000 kills on my epochal. This season it is so disgusting and I love it. Stats for all works so well with it and it feels so crispy.

I got encore, and precision instrument felt so crisp in 1v1. Another great review can't wait for the blast furance review.

Having a hard time getting over the disconnect between the 140 rpm fire rate and the 180 hand cannon recoil style. Feels good on controller, bad on mnk personally. But, zhaouli is ugly and looks are the true endgame so I'm gonna go with Luna anyway

Feels bad on controller too. It's throwing me off and I'm a HC main, going from Ace to Lumas feels horrendously bad. Albeit I'll Give it a real shot once i get a 70 range roll to actually test cause 53R is like 31m instead of 33.5 where meta HCs sit.

Zaoulis was my first crafted weapon from Kings Fall. Everyone swears by it but the gun model and reload animation do not spark joy for me. I’ve been using Epochal integration this entire season because it feels smooth as butter but as soon as I get my God Roll Luna’s it’s on

Veteran player returning after many seasons away… this was really helpful. I used to just farm HC’s for KC but there are now so many more perk options for players of meh skill like me to improve their game.

Hey CoolGuy! Love your videos. I wanted to mention that you should look into the details on how the new origin trait works along with perks like demo and wellspring. The community insights there are off, ever since the December ability updates. These perks now scale with the cooldown of the ability they are effecting. So that 5% number has a big asterisk and can be as low as 2.5%, if I understood those changes correctly. I know you’re a demo/wellspring enjoyer, not to mention the relevance with the new brave origin trait, so I thought you’d want to know.

As much as I love Blast Furnace and Hammerhead, Luna's is probably gonna stay focused until Final Shape. It's just so good.

Did a wall test, n omg... Flip your controller/mouse upside down, aim and pull trigger with no other input. 100% accurate, just amazing! Precision frame's intrinsic also adds +25 AE, making Luna's the best HC from the air. Rolls with heal clip & magnificent howl, my favorite roll so far. Pair with worm husk, reload dodge, vigilance fragment ECT... ECT.. Chain those 2 taps @ full health for every engagement back to back! Been eagerly awaiting Luna's return since it was announced, soooo glad it's better than I thought it was going to be.

I landed on the same weapon choice of Encore and Precision Instrument. Less hoops to jump through to get damage perk and the bonus range and accuracy for a scrub like me. Been a fan of Encore since your Empirical Evidence video... 🤙

Thank you for turning off the artifact perk for radiant after 3 precision hits! I was worried it might not feel as good in later seasons without a constant 10% damage bonus artificially inflating the range, which other content creators seemed to forget about. I appreciate your attention to detail!

Got a 61 range shiny lunas with eye of the storm/subsitence and Mag Howl/desperate measures. I absolutely love it.

I was using Not Forgotten last night while playing Iron Banner and it felt great.

Heal clip-incandescent was a hot apocalypse last night in legend onslaught. (Wellock)

I love encore on my adept igneous hammer and to no surprise I love it on Lunas. So many people sweep that perk under the rug.

Great video as always. I think I am set on Slideshot Precision Instrument. What I like with it is that Slide Shot will get your range there for the first shot or two then Precision Instrument will carry your damage fall off for the last shot. I think it is a really good combo to be honest.

I was playing iron banner yesterday testing a few Mag Howl rolls and learned the hard way that 3 stacks is the sweet spot.

Did you mix footage of a roll with heal/kill clip and one without heal clip? Because I didn‘t see the cure proc several times after a kill there

very big fan of my subsistence incandescent roll! to me it just feels a lot better to use then zaouli's bane. definitely a preference thing for sure but i love mine a lot

But what about the slice hatchlings of the world, the repluse destabilizing the eddy current voltshots . And what perks you could come up with for stuff like stasis.

Stacking precision final blows with rain of fire because those boots are my crutch🔥

Do you know the exact distance in meters that precision instrument adds ?

Might bother some but I absolutely love that it feels more like a 180. I’m in love with this gun and I’ve not even landed my perfect roll.

Whats really awesome is that i got both rolls Coolguy recommends on one shiny roll. It has both encore precision instrument and heal clip incandescent with good barrel perks, ricochet rounds and a range masterwork. So i have a workhorse Luna for both pve and pvp. Plus since it is shiny I will be able to enhance the perks when final shape drops.

Is this a bad gun to use with Transversive Steps? Does the auto reload function of the exotic mess with Magnificent Howl? Or does MH only activate on a manual reloads?

Btw we'll be able to enhance precision instrument so it'll give even more dmg so more 3 tap range

I just got a extended barrel, high caliber rounds, encore, magnificent howl, and a range MW. I am actually glad i got it. I haven't tried it in PVP yet, but i bet it goes hard.

Got a 4/5 roll on my 3rd drop. Got 4 werans in the first day. Would 100% recommend slide+mh.

Desperate measures x1 with radiant is 2 head 1 body against tier 10 resil for 7 seconds without needing to reload & can be refreshed.

I have the heal clip/incandescent igneous. It has ricochet rounds and a reload masterwork. I chose arrowhead over extended barrel. It’s so nice.

I really enjoyed slideshot incandescent for PvE run and gun style kept me sharp for crucible lol that and if you’re just sitting back nonstop shooting you prob should be using special heavy or you’re in a GM with a bow or Polaris

Sunsetting made me forget how much I do not like Luna’s Howl as a 140, at least not with the 180 recoil pattern

I use a hammer, ricochet, slide, precision with a range MW and I love it!

The holster cheese is nice, but I got one with Slideshot/Howl, and you can pair it with Transversives to completely bypass the risk of wasting Howl shots when your normal magazine empties

Got myself 3 Luna's Howls Slideshot+Kill Clip Eye of the Storm+Magnificent Howl Encore+Precision Instrument And gotta say the third one felt the more consistent for me, while do wanted to make the Magnificent Howl my main I'm not skilled enough to proc it consistently so just having the stats benefits by just shooting felt amazing, wish it had Range MW but still pretty good

For controller, would it be better to go hammer forged or is full bore still manageable?

They go away if you don’t kill anything with precision. But with sub, if you don’t have anymore mag howl stacks, you can loop the kills up again without reloading yet and then reload into more mag howl shots.

Yeah I thought that but I wasn't sure if I got a kill with magnificent Howell at the subsistence wouldn't return that stack... I'm probably just hoping on something that sounds too good to be true lol

I come back to confirm that sub-mag howl is not as efficient in high end PVE. I was in denial but I had to swap to my bane and saw the difference.

My first shiny drop was smallbore/ricochet/EOTS and magnificent howl. Very solid roll, I kinda prefer precision instrument though. Really helps with that damage falloff.
