The good ol’ Oedipus complex to a T. I actually struggled with the female equivalent (Electra complex) for a long time and yeah, it’s exactly what you described. I’m a lesbian and I’ve never actually been attracted to men, I just craved and sought out the affection and guidance of a “father” figure. It’s not inherently sexual.

If you think of it in the window that Hughie just experienced a highly traumatic situation that will take a while to process and the one comfort of the hug from a parent- his dad- that loves you and Hughie realizes in that moment that he needed his dad to feel safe but will never feel safe with his dad ever again is absolutely heartbreaking. The Joe reveal isn't even the biggest part of this. 1. Hughie got assaulted and is dealing with issues losing his dad. He didn't play along, he mentioned "Oh, a book key" He mentioned the paintings. All so MM could recognize the clues once he went in. 2. Kimiko's bestie doesn't want to see her. 3. MM is almost dying like how A Train was going through. He tried to help A Train, and he did but now he's feeling the stress. 4. Noir 2 is finally being listened to. He's beggging for Noir insight and he finally got it, by the Deep so might be lies, but he now has a direction. 5. I realized the psychiatric hospital Sam went to at first in Gen V is "Sage Grove", located in Pennsylvania and a few episodes ago MM mentioned Sage she was from Pennsylvania. I think that's enough there's way more layers to this episdode than just "That's uncomfortable" Edit: I'll correct myself Ashely showed she was from Detroit. I thought MM said Penn and showed her license ID. But still...

its not super powers per se, its like the rabbit with the tentacles. it also had temp V. and they burst from inside the body. Butcher killed the rabbit, but in humans the tumor likely retreats back inside the body once the threat is eliminated. So instead of on demand super powers, you get a parasitic tumor that, can deal with supe level threats but only in extreme cases. And he'll probably still die in time as well

You guys are correct to be confused about Addam/Seasmoke. Although Valaryons descend from Valyria as well (like Targs), they were not Dragonlords like many of the other families from Valyria. In fact, the targs were a very low level dragonlord family. But, like other commenters have already stated, it’s possible that Corlys’ bloodline has been intertwined from said dragonlord families from Valyria. Although I will say, none of the books are clear on what exactly constitutes who can and cannot be a dragon rider, and what the actual facts are about dragon bonding. GRRM said recently it will be revealed in the next ASOIAF book, so one can hope! In the book, Archmaester Gyldayn states that Laenor is their father, Mushroom (the other narrator) states that Corlys is. The show/Condal/GRRM have obviously solidified that of course, Corlys it is!

My (work in progress) theory is that in order to make the virus strong enough to kill Homelander, Samir is going to need a sample of his DNA. Someone (probably A-Train) will break into his apartment and steal one of his pubes out of that jar that he’s been putting them in. And, because they realise they can’t pierce his skin, someone will have the idea to use Firecracker’s breast milk as the delivery medium. This, I think, is where Sage comes in. I don’t think that monologue about being able to cure cancer was insignificant. I think they’ll need her to make the virus stay dormant long enough to be delivered that way. Homelander will find out A-Train has been in his apartment and kill him. Neumann will become president and the last season is about taking out her and Ryan.

I agree with a lot of you guy’s opinions on this episode. This episode for me was probably the weakest in the entire show for me and the fact Hughie technically got SA’d and they played it off as a joke wasn’t the best thing The Boys have done which brought down this episode for me a lot. Edit: And also I believe that in the Tek-Cave TekKnight had a feeling that it wasn’t really Webweaver the entire time considering how easily he picks up something off about someone. And when he does unmask Hughie he does not hesitate to make new holes on Hughie and basically sexually harass Hughie

With the suprised of butcher imaging the negan character i dont think the show really intended for us to be suprised by that because even if you are half paying attention you can definitely pickup that the character has never interacted with anyone else but butcher and how Rebecca is always a clear imagination representing the other side of butchers personality, that reveal was more for the character butcher to realize how screwed he really is not for us to be suprised by it more for us to get that confirmation of our suspension
