They would have to actually catch someone that knows what happened for him to read them first. Which means identifying a person that might be involved, then either getting their consent or gathering evidence so they can be legally arrested and forced to shake his hand. The first could be a problem if a random stranger did something, like a mugger killing someone then running away. The second if multiple people are involved and covering for each other. Some crimes could be solved in 2 minutes.

V is expensive, they most likely give a SMALL dose to babies that parents volunteer, and see what powers they get, then if they’re good, they full dose them. They probably dosed him and couldn’t even tell he had powers. If they full dosed him now, he might develop some strength or durability.

He did wrong, but it's debatable if this guy was ever in his right mind. His powers probably took a huge toll on him emotionally, given the amount of awful stuff he'd see using them. Sure, he sold out The Boys despite them getting him in touch with his daughter again, but that was likely because he wanted to get back in Vought's good graces and do it his own way.

I thought home lander was the only sup to have a kid...

Homelander is the only super to have a kid with naturally occurring Super powers. There are plenty of supes who have kids on the show, Translucent, this guy, Victoria and Starlight had an abo*tion so she's fertile. Etc. etc.

Is this a plot hole? They keep saying Ryan is the first child of a sup, but there's Chleo, Translucent's son, Annie was pregnant in S4, did they just sorta about Ryan being the first?

Mesmer is an absent parent who suffers from some degree of a drug/alcohol habit. He ultimately regrets this and wishes to rebuild the connection with his daughter who is distant from her father due to prolonged seperation.
