They kept Maeve alive but killed Noir. That too in the most disappointing way possible. He did come back after his brains got bashed in. I really hope he comes back. But with the rate the writers are creating the storyline, especially after this disappointing finale (Butcher stopping Soldierboy to kill Homelander and much more), it's really hard to say.

Well, embracing one side of his humanity, the selfish power hungry side. If the writers really wanted him to embrace being human, taking his powers away would have been truly experiencing all his humanity. Bit disappointed but the Ryan storyline is very interesting direction.

i think the fact that there are long gaps between seasons, you forget that in season 2 homelander showed signs that he likes to take care of his son(flying him out from a vought venue when it got overwhelming for brian) and wants to give the love he craved for when he was a child. the love is genuine. This doesnt change the fact that he will be a bad example for brian as we saw in the end of this season as he is not fit to be a parent.

  • @CeruleanSword

    @CeruleanSword

    2 жыл бұрын

@@aaditkhan728 He’s not a good dad, yes he ‘cares’ about Ryan and wouldn’t want to see him get hurt. Firstly I don’t think it’s the type of care that you or I would feel towards a child. Also the fact that he atleast cares is the only difference between soldier boy and Homelander, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good dad. What good dad kills someone in front of their child, especially when it might ruin his own son’s reputation due to association, as it’s probably being recorded? And Homelander obviously is aware of that since he’s familiar with being recorded and in situations like that, yet he chooses to break for the first time ever when his son is there? I honestly think Homelander is a psychopath and incapable of love. He cares about Ryan because when he looks at Ryan he sees himself. When that guy threw the object and it hit Ryan, from Homelander’s perspective, it was like an attack against a mini-him and not Ryan. Homelander doesn’t care about ‘Ryan’, he is infatuated with himself and wants Ryan to be the next him, so for that he cares about Ryan - not his mother’s ‘Ryan’. It’s like he loves the concept of what he can turn Ryan into, or what he believes Ryan already is. I’d be seriously worried for Ryan if Ryan ever defies him and permanently sides with Butcher right in front of Homelander, and if Ryan decides he doesn’t want to be the ‘mini-Homelander’. I think Homelander would hesitate but I seriously think Homelander is capable of and would want to kill his own son in that situation. Ryan is definitely in danger in my opinion, but I doubt he will actually die in this show. Soldier boy said to Homelander “You’re me. You’re a ******* disappointment.” Homelander however wants Ryan to be him, that is why Becca tried to hide Ryan from Homelander, she knew that.

This is what I really like about Soldier Boy. Even though he's not 100% what he claims to be like not storming Normandy, he still knows how to fight extremely well. When you compare Soldier Boy vs. Butcher, Annie, MM, and Kimiko he was winning pretty much the entire time. While a couple episodes ago, Homelander struggled against Soldier Boy, and a Butcher and Hughie who were still new to their powers. Obviously the difference is that until recently Homelander has been pretty much unmatched and never needed to actually try. While the backstory Soldier Boy gave us this episode makes me think that even after he got his powers, he still went out of his way to get combat training of some kind and is obviously very effective in a fight. That and he fought his old team before so he's definitely had practice.

I think Noir has much more to his story but I wouldn't be mad if they perma killed him, that would raise the stakes even higher. A character like Noir can be perma killed? That's HELLA crazy and would make me believe next season, one of the Boys could permanently die too.

Can't really say that I like the scene where Butcher turned his back on Soldier Boy. That gave me a bit of the "The director wants it that way" kind of vibe. When Soldier Boy decided to stick to his promise to William despite being shown struggling with the relationship issue, I mean man!!! That's some integrity right there. He might be a bully and a jerk to his team, but at least he's not a psycho. In Grace's memory, he was the only one who' killed only the enemies. He's just a manly guy who does whatever he wants. Unlike Homelander, he knows the boundary. He's just far better a character than Homelander is. I felt disgusted that the show is trying to justify Butcher's betrayal by showing Soldier Boy's will to end Ryan and Homelander altogether. They're probably using that harming-children-is-wrong mindset to turn him into a villain, but seriously, what I saw in the series is just that he's a man of principles.

Its seems like you think, just because Soldier Boy's storyline just raised and died without any big impact, or at least not the impact we expected. His storylines just remarked about father figures and pushed Butcher into bretray his very own purpose (to kill Homelander) to save Ryan - stating that Ryan can in fact be his only chance to the humanity against his rage - and pushed Homelander towards his humanity again, making him choose Ryan over killing Butcher and everybody, giving him a new little hope (who will be crushed probabily at the end of season 4).

The character motivations felt really weird. Like I get Butcher protecting Ryan. But it was weird that he kept fighting Soldier Boy. Like there were definitely some gaps in the fighting where he could've focused on getting Ryan out of the way so Soldier Boy could do his thing. It seems like after the initial save Ryan part, they forget Homelander is the bigger threat. Like they know SB can be dropped with the nerve agent. But other than SB, they have no way of touching Homelander. The focus of the main threat was off. Also, the nerve agent side quest was weird. It seemed like just needed something for frenchie and kimiko to do, so they wrote in having to get the nerve agent again. I don't hate the finale, but it's definitely the weakest yet. Also, Noir better be a fake out. I don't want him dead, but if you're gonna kill him. It gotta be a better than that. A single hole in the stomach after all the shit he's healed from. Homelander needed to rip him in half, vertically, if he's actually dead that would've been more believable. Really hoping he comes back.

Also the Neuman character is Victor Newman and he's known as Vic the Veep because he's Vice President of the US so getting Victoria as the running mate was perfect. That IS a bit of a pussy move tbh. You’re this close to taking out Homelander and you cave because Ryan got shoulder-checked? Definitely should’ve let Soldier Boy take out Homelander and then deal with him later. Homelander is a bigger threat than Soldier Boy and It’s been proven that Homelander is more untouchable than Soldier Boy. If Maeve survives the blast then so would Ryan. Homelander and Homelander Jr. would both be powerless. Good but also frustrating. I definitely thought this was a weaker episode and the choice to have Ryan be a linchpin for everyone to turn on Soldier Boy (and basically save Homelander) was pretty lazy writing. Noir was the most mysterious character in the show and then when they finally give him some interesting shit, they kill him? Weird pacing as well. Mixed feelings for sure. Butcher fucked up by driving a wedge between himself and Ryan. That little smile Ryan had on his face worries me. Hopefully he’ll see the light in the next season. It’s a bit of a cop out to me that Maeve ended up surviving a full-force blast from Soldier Boy, but at least she can have a happy ending with Elena. Just like in the comics, Victoria will find a way to make herself the president; although she’ll be much scarier because she’s more cunning compared to her comic counterpart.

Kimiko survived a full blast so did love sausage and other Supes. If Maeve had healing powers then it makes sense she survived. She can also jump really high so that fall wouldve been nothing to her.

@@jeringatai3156 Kimiko survived a blast that broke a wall lol. Maeve survived a massive explosion. That's fine though, Maeve is way more durable than Kimiko. The only real bs is de-powered Maeve then surviving the fall to the ground from that massive height. She didn't have her powers after the explosion so the fall should have killed her.

There's no way Black Noir is dead after that.. the guy survived having half of his brain violently ejected from his skull thanks to Soldier Boy, losing some guts means nothing.

great acting and production and stunts and stuff, but this episode left me with a mostly "meh" feeling. like we're just back to square one, except HL is out and people love him for it. feels like a copout.

What i find really interesting about this season of the boys is the message of the high road vs the low road and how crazy it is when you realize The Boys (the team) really didnt do much this season, if anything they made things worse. They freed soldier boy who ended up killing dozens of innocent people, Butcher drove Ryan into the hands of his father and if ryan wasnt at the tower they could have killed homelander, Mave no longer has her powers and can no longer help them fight homelander, Butcher only has a year left to live, Victoria is has even more political power, and Homelander is still alive and is molding his son to be like him. Vs Starlight who by taking the highroad, has created major public distrust of Vought and Supes as a whole and made more people aware to the actual monster Homelander is.

Starlight didn't take the high road because she didn't confess to the world about the guy she murdered last season. She talks about supes getting away with crimes but doesn't feel she needs to answer for hers.

@@DwolfFW ??? 1 that guy was going to shoot butcher and kill him, and 2 the highroad doesnt mean being a saint who never does wrong, it just means not going lower than the person you are up against. She said supes are terrible but she never excluded herself. The same way she didnt expose the boys for the numerous amounts of screwed up things they have done.

@@darryljack6612 The only reason he was going to shot Butcher was because Butcher was trying to steal his car. Which they didn't need to do because the guy was more than willing to take them to a hospital. Also Starlight is bulletproof and could easily have stood in the way. That guy didn't need to die and show is pretending he doesn't exist. Which makes Starlight look like a psychopath because she had no reflection on it at all this season. Also "it just means not going lower than the person you are up against" is not what taking the high road means. If your enemy rapes your wife along with your daughter you're not taking the high road if you rape just his wife but not his daughter. It's about having first principles of morality that you choose to adhere to despite the risk. If Starlight wants to be genuine she should have turn herself in.

@@DwolfFW 1 Bullet proof but not faster than a bullet firing from a gun . And I never said the guy deserved it, Butcher definitely escalated the situation. But what she did wasn't to brutally kill, it was only to defend Butcher 2, if you were to do that to your enemy that is taking the low road, because again your going just as low and or lower than the enemy. And 3 Annie never demanded that certain people turn themselves just from murder alone. Hence why she hasn't exposed the boys and all the screwed up things they did, or mave who she also didn't turn in
