I'm glad that you will do the same :D . I got behind on your videos, I am NOT going to catch up. I tell you, everything. You responded to me on, KZread. You have my personal cell phone number. You know I'm alive. You're rich, you have everything you need. I'm Middle Class, still. I will watch out for you, on your two, KZread channels, beginning tomorrow. Our paths have not crossed physically, but the connection is there. 21 years sober, 4.5 years of Kundalini yoga (over 6 months, now daily), and that innate desire to be all I can be spiritually, physically and universally. "The Untethered Soul" is a brilliant book that I read years ago. However, it wasn't until a few months ago that I begin listening to Michael Singer's podcast that I began rereading the book and actually practicing the surrender experiment. It has changed my life. This is not an easy practice but it is simple. I feel so blessed to have rediscovered him. Thanks for bringing him to the attention of your viewers/listeners as well, Russell.

@@sterrejalou I can definitely use more work in that area. And I will put more effort into it. With that said one thing I do is I try to stay present when situations arise that I’d normally shut down immediately. In my mind I’ve already set the intention that I want to say “yes” more to things. So when I realize I’m shutting down yet another opportunity for me to do something I am able to do a 180 and go down whatever path awaits. When you’re remaining present (which meditating helps tremendously with) it’s a lot easier for you to notice those quick habitual responses you tend to make. Once you notice them it’s up to you to decide if you want to act in the same old same old way or go down a new path and let the Universe give you a new experience. Another thing that helps me a ton is to reflect on how it all went! I always try to think back to how I felt when initially saying no to something and then changing it to a yes. Or just saying yes in the first place fully knowing that I would be trying something new. From there I think about all the great things that came from me taking the “unknown” path. I think of the things I’m grateful for that came as a result of saying yes. For me that’s a vital step because it really helps to break up that habit of always choosing the “safe” route. That mental rehearsal basically strengthens a good habit (saying yes) and weakens a bad habit. On that note I’ll have to plan to reread that book again soon because it’s such a good reminder that you can’t possibly know what’s in store for you unless you take the leap. Also in typical Universe fashion the timing of your reply is perfect because I’m in the middle of enjoying an experience that I decided to say yes to rather than my usual no. Hope that helps!

Thanks Russell for introducing me to Michael Singer. As a 50 year old father of 4, I very recently became aware of the concept that you are not your thoughts and this completely blew me away. Singers way of conveying the message is just so beautiful. I particularly like that it’s not overly God-ish which I think and hope makes it very accessible to a broader bunch of people.

LOVED this book! Remember when it came out...everyone read the thing (except me). Fast forward many many years to 2014 & a diagnosis do cancer. Went spiritual & read this, too. When he talked about the one who was thinking the thoughts 💭 I was caught. Yes ❗️ I’m the one watching my life , not the one living it. It spirals up from there...today I’m free from incurable cancer with no chemo or radiation. Oh, yes. But I had willingness to do, to become and make myself accepting of what is....(breast cancer, bone cancer, spine, sacrum, hips & sternum). 5+ yrs free of that...& I don’t even feel like the same person anymore . This , for me, was one of the life changers. Now much of this because I was at a point of readiness, and I was cracked open to fill those cracks with something (God abhors a void). It’s was timing...Caroline Myss before cancer ? Ugh. After cancer? Loved her .

Not all of us are at the stage where we can honestly and frankly share those experiences and when sharing them not point our finger of blame at everyone and everything. This is what you have done in Revelation. Very refreshing & honest. I had two cats who died of renal failure, a brother and sister 2 years apart. Someone posted Russell’s interview with Michael Singer (from Under The Skin) on their channel. Here’s my thoughts on that interview: 1st of all, I could sense Russell's sadness when he spoke of his mom's illness(es). When a parent is ill the child(ren) do not get the full love, attention, affection and nurturing we all need to thrive. As well, there is a fear that the parent could die and leave us. Many of these thoughts and fears we have as children - lay in our subconscious mind. They get tucked away there, as we have no cognitive means to deal with them at that time. UNLESS, the other parent is highly conscious and aware, and talks to the child(ren) explaining things and asks the child(ren) to express how they feel at the time. And then check in with them time to time to see and hear how they (children) are doing. In almost ALL cases, I would say most children do not have a parent that is that conscious and aware. And it is my belief that this is where (subconscious mind) those thoughts and feelings lay and fester. And then something happens, as in this case with Russell, his mother's recent illness, triggers the past unresolved memories. Those of us on our 'healing journey' might 'be aware of the activation of feelings and emotions.' Then we can ask ourselves who is it that is getting activated? For example: Is it my toddler self, my 10 year old self, my adolescent self or my adult self and then try to search for when we felt like that in the past. I believe the key is to feeling the feelings ... be the observer of those feelings as they are felt ... it might be too much for some ... but perhaps not for others ... to allow the catharsis of feelings. Us humans are very complex. The biological processes that are happening every given second - and especially when triggered - attest to our need to heal so that we can thrive. Some people are not yet aware of why they are reactive or that they are even reactive at all. It is usually a current trigger to something that happened in our past that is not resolved! Even though we did not ask for these experiences (unless you believe in reincarnation and that the many lives lived are for experiences for us to grow from - to transcend), it is our responsibility to heal from them - if we want to be happy, grow and thrive. We can't blame others; it just doesn't help us. Forgiveness doesn't let the other person off the hook it frees us from the hurt and pain inflicted upon us. I truly have experienced the power of forgiving ... it is like being released from being chained up. We ALL have had some form of dysfunction/hurt/pain/trauma/etc in our life. I could write a book about all of mine. No one escapes this! The bottom line is every time we are triggered and feeling: jealousy, shame, guilt, pain, hurt, embarrassed, fear, you name it - we need to determine - when was the 1st time or when were all the other times I felt this. And it goes without saying, none of us wants to feel this lower vibrating emotions. We want to feel good, joy, happy etc ... so that is why we need to heal from these circumstances that have caused us so much unease. There are so many great YT channels (especially this one of Russell’s) and books, I don't even know where to begin. Google is a decent tool to search to find information on what one is looking to heal from. I’d like to state that my journey started by reading You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. With much personal growth [emotional, psychological, spiritual]: counselling, practicing gestalt empty chair technique (on my own and with a counsellor), reading, using workbooks - actually doing the work to heal, EFT tapping, EMDR, inner child work, to name a few. It’s such a personal and individual journey to heal. You have to find what resonates with you. Wishing Everyone all the best on their healing journey. Peace.

Wow Russell, Just saw you on American TV"s Kelly and Ryan morning show. What a clear concise explanation of our current state of life you made. As a young man growing up in the late sixties early seventies, I also had to struggle with addictions and temptations from all directions, be they sex, drugs or the rock and roll excesses. Also I saw the fragility and strain placed on our society and environment caused by inequality, greed, a go-go competitive, get ahead mentality, waste, destruction and war. It affected everything in my life and I sought refuge in a pipe and pot. I never married or had children, not by choice, but knowing perhaps this was such a screwed up planet, that I might not be able to convince a child that it would all be fine for their future. But thank God for faith in my life, as it was the rock that grounded me. My parents instilled religion in me, and as you said, the older I got the more it helps on this very temporary existence on this "ball of confusion". You Russell are very inspiring and your past has added so much to your knowledge. Your very much needed at this time, as I think we all needed the pandemic in some way to slow down and do a reassessment of how to move forward, and to appreciate everyday blessings we all have. Hope this post isn't too long winded, but you made more sense in two minutes this morning, than I have heard in 20 years. Will check out your other posts and audible revelations. Thank you and God bless you. Mike from Boston

That's a lovely room you recorded this in. Thank you for all the free stuff - I have gotten a lot of impactful information from these podcasts. I am currently (finally!) reading "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramhansa Yogananda (I didn't know until recently that it is like the most important book in the world), so now I want to learn Sanskrit and read the Bhagavad Gita.

I LOVED Autobiography of a Yogi! It took me years to get around to it, too, but it was so worth the wait and so worth the length. He was the 'real deal' for sure!

Yes. TUS is a fantastic book I’ve reread a few times. I’d be very interested in your reads. I love suggestions and, as someone embarking on the 12 steps in my own life, I could benefit from some literature to shift my thinking.

This is a remarkable book. Recommend the Audible version with the printed copy. Take loads of notes, revisit often. We must make the conscious effort to stay open always. The thorn is such an apt metaphor. Yes, the Stoics visited this too. Spirituality is everything.thanks for your new book Russell! I have it on Audible.

I loved this book, one of the first I read when I started my sobriety journey. It's funny that the majority of books I read in sobriety are all in this vein, as if before I thought my spirit was found in a bottle or the like. Hmm. I do recommend this book as well, a glimpse into what is definitely an eternity if you awaken from the dream.
