When you placed the Lucifer and Books of Magic omnibuses together, it DOES look very nice! Thanks Omar!
By the way, books of magic by Neil Gaiman is the perfect intro book for magic related characters in the DC universe. For new readers I strongly recommend it.

Can you elaborate on how? I’m genuinely curious, I always hear how great the Sandman story/universe story’s are, but I’m kind of turned off by old kinda grungey muted 90’s art. [like Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth look, for some reason I don’t like that overly sketchy look..] (Though maybe I’ve just seen bad previews of the Sandman comics, and things get more colorful and vibrant than I expect) But I also loved novels by Gaiman I’ve read, like Coraline and the like... So I’m still kind of on the fence with it all. Thank you if you see this and respond, I really appreciate any and all input or recommendations with this side of DC. 😁

@@NichoMania2 That dark, sketchy style from Arkham Asylum isn't what you get with Sandman. Dave McKean, the Arkham Asylum artist did the covers for Sandman, but that's all. The interior artwork is very much more traditional comic art. Sandman is absolutely incredible. I've had to convince some people to read it, but every single one of them have become obsessed with it. You won't be disappointed.

@@OldDevlin ooOO! Okay then, thanks! I might need to save up a bit for the books. [hope that in that time, all the other Gaiman omni's aren't OOP by then 😅In case I fall in love with this world] but I'll definitely give it a shot. I've heard the coloring is different too, is the old coloring better/worth-it or is the new coloring fine enough as is/a replacement? [I saw some crazy original colors somewhere, I remember that]

@@NichoMania2 Some of the colouring was redone for the Absolute editions, which started being published somewhere around 15 years ago. That then became the standard colouring for all editions. I originally had all the trades with the old colouring, then bought the Absolutes with the new colouring. Most people agree that the new colouring is better, including Neil Gaiman, and that's why it was adopted for all future publications. It's just a little more modern. It's very respectful of the older art, and doesn't change the style at all, the rendering is still very similar. It just gives the art a little more life by not being restricted by the limitations of the old fashioned printing process. I'm a sucker for things being left alone. I don't like changes to something I love, it feels like it isn't authentic anymore when it's messed around with...but even for me the 'new' colours are better. All of that said, the new colouring is only very noticeable in the first 18 issues, where the old printing limitations were most evident (the original run of Sandman is made up of 75 issues) But, in all honesty, it really doesn't matter. With Sandman, it's the story that hooks you. You'll come across a lot of different artists, with very different styles, and as great as some of the art is (and some of it is incredible), it's not what keeps you coming back.
I can confirm that the Names of Magic series was reprinted in TPB format. I currently own a copy, which I visually confirmed a few minutes ago.
My Lucifer Omnis has the DC logo on the spine, not the Vertigo. I guess they're more recent prints.
Props to DC for their dustjacket designs on this series, they look great together. There have been a few DC hits and misses (Green Arrow?) but a consistent design is always a 👍
There was a trade paperback of Books of Magick called Life during wartime. It collected the first 5 or 6 issues.
I was soooooo looking forward to your overview of volume 3 since it came out 😄 Thank you sir for doing, as always, an awesome job! Showing exactly what I wanted to see before buying and now I'm convinced I want it ☺️ Blessed be and have an awesome day ✌️
Books of Magic is one of those series I never read back in the day, but I went for Omni vol 1 based on Omar's overview. Now it is one of my favorites. I haven't gotten to vol 2 yet, but I am definitely picking this one up.

Volume 2 is amazing. There are some spotty bits near the end of Rieber's run, but then Peter Gross takes over and hits it out of the freaking park. Volume 3 is a mixed bag but interesting!
My first printings of JSA vol 2 and 3 are hanging on by threads and my 52 fell apart. Much better these days now.
I’d love the Dreaming to be added to these Sandman classic Omni & I’d love the modern sandman universe stuff too! Give me everything DC!! 😂

Yes! They need to finally collect the Dreaming series! 👍🏼
The spines are so good! Love that consistency.
There's so many books. I couldn't justify buying this 3 volume set. Digital it is.
Thanks! Also nice to know: the 2 Lucifer volumes and the 3 BoM volumes perfectly fit into one Kallax unit :)
About time you did this. I needed it to justify buying it a month ago 😁😎 Seriously, we need more DC omni overviews

We need more DC omnis made. Then we can have overview videos.
And it's a tight squeeze, but all 5 volumes of Books of Magic and Lucifer fit snugly in one Kallax cube. Look great together. All good reads, too.
Hey Omar, I got a question that’s X-men related. I really want to read Greg Rucka’s wolverine run which is the start of volume 3. By your guesstimation, how long do you think it would take to get there in Omni format if they continue with the Wolverine omnibus?
Omar, other than Lucifer and Books of Magic, there are other Sandman Universe Classics Omnis?
Is this the final volume or is there still material for Volume 4?
Are there 2 cover arts for the books of magic omni vol. 3?
Will there be more tbom omnis or is this the final one?

There is a newer series that is part of the rebranded Sandman Universe, but it pretty much rebooted everything since the original Gaiman comic. There is enough content for another omni, but idk what they'll do
Actually, Rose is another version of Dr. Occult, not Mister E.

@@jordanevans_97 I’ve bought numerous books from them. Well, do as numerous people do. Request a return until you get a good copy if it is from Amazon itself! I knew a number of people years ago that kept on reordering manga from them until they received a nice copy. Amazon allowed them to keep the damaged copy/copies without returns. That might not happen now, though. These were cheaper manga vols, but you might get lucky and you can keep a “damaged” omnibus.
You’re right Omar, they credited the wrong person for the cover. The cover comes from Hunter The Age of Magic #14 and it was done by Jon Foster. 🫢
