The Mk1 funduro (note the indicators built into the plastic) only sold in UK & Europe and the best of the lot. All the others were gutless garbage. parted company with mine with 87k miles on the clock :-)

What are you talking about? I have a last year, 2000 Funduro (not GS - with carburettor) and mine has the protruding snail eye indicators. Anyways the Funduros are 99% the same from 1993 to 2000

@@cesartapia610 I've bought it for 1750€ / 1900$ and addutionally spent the half of it on maintenance and reparations. I'm living in Hungary so the mechanics are not insanely expensive here and I've used some parts from dismantled bikes. I think a perfectly good Funduro is worth around 3000€ here. I don't recommend such an old, used bike unless you can do some maintenance or you know a good and trusted mechanic. Even if your mechanic is great, you'll experience some difficulties with a 22-29 year old bike from time to time. These bikes are almost oldtimers so I don't think it's a good idea to buy such old bikes unless you know what to do if your bike breaks down. I've broke down several times already within a year. It was only pure luck every time I got home because I was not very familiar with the mechanics of it. It is a very very very simple machine though, you can even solve every electric problem with a multimeter. I've learned to do some basic stuff since that. If you don't like to spend time in the garage, I would rather recommend something newer.

How do you manage you gas consumption without a gas gauge or reserve light like with 1997 f650 St or funduro ? I own but struggle with gas management with a gas gauge or reserve light!

Reset trip meter after fueling up..

  • @weathermantom

when you next fill up the bike, reset the trip meter (twist that middle knob thingy in between the gauges til it gets to zero). turn your petcock to on, not reserve (long side down for ON). you will know when you start to run out of fuel when you will feel the bike just run out of power. at that point you should be left with about 2 litres of gas in the tank, which can take you up to 40-50km max, i would say enough to get you to the nearest gas station. once you get the hang of it it become pretty easy really.
