Hey guys, I've been a long time fan and have been watching your videos for a while and I recently watched a video done six months ago by the Ghost Hunting/Investigation Channel Mindseed. The pair investigated a place called 'The Lake House.' where they captured compelling evidence of the past decease female resident that was found dead on the properties lake. The evidence captured was enough to scare the absolute hell out of both investigators and made them question whether they should continue ghost hunting. By far their scariest investigation yet. I thought it would be a great idea if maybe the two of you looked into it a bit. It's an active place and should be worth your wild. That was one of the only questions I knew the answer to with 100% certainty.

If I had a nickel for every time a critically acclaimed musical story written by Shane Madej featured a twist reveal of a character having been a hologram, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. Truly the soul of the Hot Daga lives on in this show.

If you look at the credits, it shows that he voices the professor...that's just basic reading

I love the idea of Shane approaching his one friend (that does the background vocals/production for the songs), like “hey listen this is gonna sound weird… but I’m writing a song for the professor and he’s gonna talk about sawing off bones and flesh and stuff, I’ll send you the plans later”

I have actually woken up during anaesthesia, I was having my scalp repaired after I fell over and shredded it. It was one of the most painful and terrifying things I've ever experienced. I could only move my eyes (so I was furiously moving my eyes side to side and blinking) and the surgeon said "I think he's waking up"- I was so relieved that he noticed but the bloody anaesthetist just said "no, he's not it's just involuntary eye movement". So I tried opening my eyes wider and moving them up and down/side to side... The anaesthetist noticed this time and just said "whoops your right". Pray that it never happens to you - yes, experiencing the pain of the surgery was really bad, but it's like having sleep paralysis except you're truly awake and it's real.

@@spookayitsme reminds me of the guy who was so traumatised by waking up during a surgery he had ptsd and allegedly killed himself because of it, sad and horrific, i had problems going under the knife too, but luckily they noticed during the preperations. im so sorry for you, i hope you can recover from the experience, perhaps speak to a surgeon to look out for a specific motion if your eyes open throughout as a precaution? so you feel safer?

I’m seriously concerned that they might actually kill Ryan off this season, somebody needs to save our Beef Boy.

As a guy who helped to write a play about Liston (and got to play him in it!), you can't imagine my excitement when I saw this video in my feed. He was genuinely was such a bizarre and fascinating guy, and I'm glad more people will know about him now. (sidenote: this video doesn't even get into Liston's insane beef with another surgeon, Robert Knox, who became infamous after his involvement with the Burke and Hare murders!)

@@AmethystEyes Cadavers are helpful for more than just surgeons, all medical Drs will have experience with cadavers (or dissections of certain regions) - so that's every single type of Dr you can think of, including GPs, hospital generalists, surgeons, emergency & critical care Drs, even psychiatrists will have to do anatomy in medical school - you also have all the Drs in the dental field learning with cadavers, and in the UK and my previous university at least, the biomedical science students also had classes with cadavers - and they actually did a lot more in depth studying of anatomy and spent more time working with cadavers 😊. You also have the more specialist degrees such as Human Anatomy - where you actually learn how to prepare and fix cadavers and their organs for educational use, and I believe people studying anthropology - specifically biological/physical and forensic anthropology also learn with cadavers... Forensic anthropologists tend to have the most in depth knowledge of human anatomy because they often have to identify remains from very small and dispersed parts - and cadavers are a really valuable way to learn basically, what makes up a human... Super important work that also relies on people generously donating their bodies 🥰

I feel like BDG had an impact as well if Shane has watched any of his horror stuff. Since he was a guest on the show this season I wouldn't be at all surprised. They have very different but very similar styles lol!

Fun Fact: The caduceus (Hermes’ Staff), with the two snakes and the wings, isn’t actually the real symbol of medicine. What happened is in 1902, the US Army Medical Corps used the caduceus/Hermes’ Staff as their symbol, and since then people used it because they didn’t know any better or for the aesthetics. The original symbol was the Rod of Asclepius, the Greek god of healing/medicine, which is just a rod and a single snake. Which that makes a lot more sense than using Hermes’ staff when Hermes is the god of thieves, commerce and trade

Hermes is technically also a psychopomp so he helped cary souls of the dead to the afterlife which is kinda ironic. Using the symbol of a merchant and part time soul carrier for the symbol of medicine and treatment 😅 doesn’t inspire a lot of faith of living through the treatment.

I’m of the opinion that though it may not ORIGINALLY have been the symbol of medicine it is now. That is like saying “he ejaculated” doesn’t mean what we are all thinking because it once meant “he exclaimed”

im now rewatching this season and thinking about how unhinged the Professor’s hologram had to be to spend this entire time cheerfully retelling history stories and letting Ryan win as if he wasn’t prepping Ryan’s skin for harvest the Professor is giving lessons on how to be vengeful ❤

As much I was shocked trying to process everything happening here, "I gotta tell Nord VPN!" had me choking on my popcorn

I guess I can confirm my brain is broken when I'm excited by a Shane cameo as if he isn't part of the show or anything

Ok but the jumpscare at the end was better than most KZread horror channels. Puppet History needs to win an Emmy.

I need to hear about the defamation lawsuit against the professor because it’s hilarious to think about a lil blue guy pleading his case as Ryan just has his head in this hands begging to end it all.

The "convention" in Portland ended up being a livestream from a hotel; the deceased had wanted his body donated to science, which his widow did, but the organization she donated the body to then sold the body to the guy who did the dissection from the hotel, in front of an audience (who were invited to participate), and on the fee-based livestream. I felt so bad for the widow, as she was absolutely devastated!

"Donated to science," just sounds like a massive scam to convince people to do it tbh. I've heard of "donated to science," bodies get sold to the military to be blown up, bodies getting thrown away, bodies being used in an exhibit, bodies sold to be dissected by medical students, etc. You can argue they provide some scientific value in some respects in those areas, sure, but its really not what people have in mind when they say "donate my body to science".

It's actually sort of common for conventions using cadavers to be held in hotel convention rooms that can be rented to the public. They have been held in Marriotts and a few other big names!

Its absolutely disgraceful. I'm a med student and stories like this make me really angry, without the wonderful, kind people who donate their bodies to science we would not be able to learn and go on to help others in the future. Where I live the rules on scientific donation are very strict, you can't even take pictures (there are exceptions though)

There was that story a good 5 yrs back that male donations was sent overseas to make wine... idk if they still do that.

I was thinking from the start "man, I hope this isn't somehow also the guy who managed to kill 3 people in one botched surgery" like if it wasn't for that particularly memorable blunder this absolute legend would probably have a ton of hospitals named after him. Inventing surgical tools *before germ theory* that are so good they're still in use today? Holy crap, dude.

Before this season I never would have thought this would become a horror show…

between the hot daga and this, i think shane deserves some sort of award for incredibly bizarre but entertaining writing

The Professor threatened Ryan twice in the span of ten seconds, things are NOT going to end well

i love how aria just didnt even check on ryan, just left him there after clearly seeing him get drugged, ladies~ dont go with aria to any bars~

After spending so much time as shane playing the professor, its actually kinda weird hearing his voice actually coming from him. This series has pretty much overwritten my mind to automatically think of his voice as the professor.

“Were you expecting a third option, I’m sorry, it’s 1835!” Had me laugh so hard, and it’s just the first 5 minutes

God I’m hoping for a professor vs professor showdown next week…

As someone with unfortunate shitty bones and joints and arthritis since I was a young child, I’ve had to have quite a few surgeries and I can’t imagine what it would be like without anesthesia. There’s that moment you wake up when they’re switching you from the operating table to a recovery bed and the pain shocks you all over your body before the pain medication lulls you back into sweet, sweet slumber. Just imagine that “shocking pain” throughout the duration of the surgery. Thank goodness for anesthesia and pain medication.

Seeing Shane interact with the Puppets on the set of Puppet History was a top moment. I’m sure it was nice for the Devil to see his favorite demon too!

I'm glad Dorothy-Ruth is moving on and is back in the dating scene.

I love how Shane just walked into the room with Ryan tied up and an evil hologram puppet and was like "Nope. Noooope. Nuh-uh. I don't know what's going on here but whatever it is I want no part in it. If I don't acknowledge it won't affect me."

Shane has the perfect voice for a puppet. Can't believe I slept on this series for so long it's one of my favorite Watcher endeavours

Um... Shane isn't any of the puppets. He was talking to the professor, so how can he be in two places at once? Unless....Shane is a time traveler?!

As a historian, I feel like I need to point out that before anaesthetic, physicians would pump you full of so much opium and henbane (basically heroine) you probably wouldn't even notice if they sawed your leg clean off. Sometimes, if they fucked up the dose, people would go into a sort of coma where they'd suffer from powerful hallucinations for days 😂

Also! Part of the reason why immediately post-anaesthetic the mortality rate was so high was because a lot of physicians would overdose their patients and accidentally kill them!

Ether as an anesthetic was a tremendous discovery, but your doctor had to be reeeeeallllyyy careful they didn't give you too much and put you under permanently. Still better than whiskey or heroin! As someone who recently underwent major surgery I'd like to salute modern anesthesiologists. 🫡 You've come so far.

This was the first video I'd seen of puppet history. Probably the worst one to see first, I was very confused. This is my second time watching this after watching all previous episodes, makes much more sense. Props to them for having so much lore in a fun little history game show.

Okay I mean this in all seriousness, please make an album of the songs you've created for this show. I would kill to be able to shuffle a Spotify playlist of all of these songs.

I retained the "The old puppets are in purgatory" bit, and assumed it'd be essential to the plot, but I too also ENTIRELY forgot the hologram professor. Lmfao.

This is the greatest season of puppet history ever!! HUGE props to the estranged producer, Shane, for saving the show!

I bet ‘typhoid Mary’ would make a really really wild episode of puppet history

Wasn't expecting a jump scare on this show. I am always impressed by the musical talent on this show. That song was good. I could picture it in a Broadway musical about a killer that skins his victims maybe like Silence of the Lambs.

Holy shit that jump scare got me. Not gonna lie, I was super excited when the history portion ended with so much run time left on the video, I am loving this ongoing storyline.

i love the idea that upon learning the professor is back. Shane would just run around screaming about it to everyone that would listen.

So the Hologram wants to use Ryan as a skin-suit with him piloting it. In other words, he's going to turn Ryan into a puppet. Love the symbolism.

The first time we’ve ever seen Shane madej on puppet history!! Wow!! Love that he’s being included this season 🤩

Also, I love that its cannon that "the shackles are just for Ryan" and people on set seeing Ryan tied down is not concerning what so ever.

As someone who had dislocated her knee and had little to no respite from painkillers, I’d rather take my chances with the primitive buff doctor over church folks saying God is testing me to see if I would still love him after he crippled me 😒 Anyway! Great episode! Glad to see Shane's cameo on the show. Good luck to Ryan! I’m excited to see his mouse pal on Dish Granted 😄

my favorite bits: -"But I think, I think / At least, I think I think / Therefore, I kinda think I think that I am" (the holo-prof could write discourse on method but Descartes could NOT host Puppet History) -puppet god describing the Suez Canal as a "prank" and also "David Blane level stuff" then subsequently abandoning us for a millennium. yeah, yep that does track. (edit: and "The Joker-fied cosmic being known as god" 💀) -Shane's absolute reluctance to get involved. he may not be afraid of demons but yeah, he knows when he's out of his depth. -"you're 5 foot 9" ~somehow~ being the most BRUTAL line in this wacky ep -what defamation lawsuit has the professor been thrown??? man do i want to know -"Oh no I'm so bad at my job... anyway-" dude💀💀💀 not to mention-- Concupiscence "Connie" McNasty. a most fitting and well earned full name. lads, it took us 5 seasons, but we got it.

Fun fact! Surgical gloves were invented because some guy saw his nurse bae kept getting wrinkly hands from constant surgeries so he made surgical gloves that fit plaster casts of her hands. They married shortly after
