You can't, you must trust the 1st block...but... if he indeed is selling non organic apples, the other blocks will see it and trace him back. For example if the vendor sees that the producer is not selling organic apples he will trace him back and report him to the distributor, packager, transporter etc and put him out of the system, so he has absolutly no interest to do that, because if he does he'll be reported and shut down

there's a lot of opinions presented as fact. At 49 seconds the gentleman says "blockchain manages transactions very well". That factually false and is only accurate if you define "manage" very narrowly. In simple terms, a blockchain is a temporal database that keeps the history of the transactions in a secure way. Sadly the current implementations of blockchain do not scale and are far too energy intensive. By design, all blockchain implementations pre-2020 do not scale to millions of transactions per hour, let alone tens of millions of transaction per day like existing banking systems. The only revolution in blockchain is "new way to scam people out of money." In theory blockchain could be used to verify some piece of data is valid and secure, but to make that scale and work reliably means you need an open free exchange that is secure. Look at how many blockchain exchanges have been hacked, it is far from secure the way it has been deployed to date.

Yes, this is one of the end goals for the Civic blockchain. It's going to take time to build the infrastructure and have a government utilize the bloackchain for personal identity so they could verify each person but it would be similar to putting your SSN on the blockchain and allowing one vote per SSN. But I think this is the way to go to remove errors. It would also allow citizens to vote anywhere in the world and remove the need for absentee ballots.

With these vaccines, they will allow the transmitting and receiving of ‘Data’ - Trojan Horse capability. What about network viruses? Could someone make a 'blockchain virus' whose task is to track all ledger copies and change them all at one moment? One hacker does not trash one million computers, they write a virus which self-distributes and trashes each computer it finds. Hmmm ...

No, the chain would take the Apple to the store it was sold. That would be the end of the rode for the apples. Any issues from the consumer could be traced backwards, no reason or need to track the Apple down someone’s stomach and through the sewer system.

Bitcoin did not invent block chain. It’s been around much longer. I am a software developer, and I was using black chain before 2009 when bitcoin was invented. And some of the things that they are saying it can do are just nonsense. I think they are confusing block chain with public key encryption.

Too bad that you weren't able to distinguish between proof of work and proof of stake when it comes to energy consumption. This makes it misleading when you speak of "energy consumption of blockchains" as a whole. Bitcoin uses a lot of energy. Yes. Proof of stake chains don't.
