Still jamming out after 8 years. The Black Queen is definitely a super group. Greg Puciato's, from The Dillinger Escape Plan, vocals are perfect, and Joshua Eustis and Steven Alexander from NIN don't disappoint. Despite the unground following, they are understated. I haven't met a person yet, who hasn't heard their music and disliked it.

Love this! Fun fact: The Black Queen is one of the titles of Lillith, the first woman-turned-queen of the underworld, the goddess Hecate, or the female aspect of Coronzon. I'm guessing Coronzon in this case as their 3-fold triangle design is similar to her sigil of three triangles which also inspired the Danger Radiation symbol. I love when a band or artist knows their stuff. Major props to The Black Queen if that truly was their intention in the name/symbol.

+whniwsyrsndtrck Interesting! I had some of their earlier albums however never watched any of the videos. While his tri-triangle tat isn't the same as the Coronzon sigil it could be considered a variation, I just connected the dots from this new band name and other references made through DEP songs, etc. Although It could have numerous other meanings, personally to him. Could be elemental, related to alchemy, etc. I'm willing to guess he's of a Gnostic belief or interested in Thelema, O.T.O, and the like. Another interesting tidbit is that the modern Baphomet (Just as it's Hermetic Staff phallus entwined by the two snakes which represent each Sophia & Satan dualism) revered by satanism is a hermaphroditic fusion of Lillith & Samael (The blind fallen angel poisoned by malice and nearly on par with Lucifer although sometimes said to be a greater force of evil itself) and is meant to contrast & mock the gender duality in the first Adam & Sophia, which was a "perfect" androgynous being as taught by mystic Judaism. Lillith & then Eve came about when Adam-Sophia strayed from "Gods" side & fell the first time (there were two falls of humanity) and was split apart, the Sophia aspect being scattered beyond time-space. Thus Lillith who seduced God, took it's name and formed her own kingdom with the newly fallen Samael at her side. Baphomet is merely a symbol of their union taken a physical form similar to how Hindu gods will combine and assume new forms and such.

+Dylan Irvine Wow. What an intense read. I knew/know that Greg really *is* big on reading up on subjects like that, he's made mention of how avid a reader of obscurities he is before a few times. If all of that _does_ infact have a relation to The Black Queen's lyrics then that digs a far lot deeper than I'd expected. Fuckin' a. Who knows though? this could be, like you'd said, personal shit for him.
