Nate B. As a guitarist It's a little difficult to play a solo at slower speeds after you've played it a million times lol

Reminds me of that Metalocalypse episode where Toki and Skwisgaar try learning how to play slow 😂
How can anyone dislike this dude. Hes literally the big lebowski of metal.

@Jerryleedlelee

Travis Kitkowski Certain sweeps (probably like the ones you are practicing) are pretty easy because the shape is basic. Alternate picking is the same but Ryan Knight has written some very difficult progressions, like alternate picking I'm sure there are sweeps that will be extremely difficult for you to learn. I know this because I can sweep pick but there are definitely some sweeps I can't play.

Jerrylee Stewart-Gonzalez Id certainly agree one of the most difficult in my opinion that he has written was probably some of the stuff from I will return its tricky with skips

Right, he says that then kills it lol
he needs more attention than he gets. totally underrated.
I came back here because he's back in TBDM again 🤟
He pretends like he thinks it's hard, but i stood at the front when they were in Oslo, a meter from him. He didn't miss a single note.

He was probably on auto-pilot. Once you play a solo 100 million times, it just becomes muscle memory. It was probably tough as balls when he first wrote it, but after that it just.. happens...

Mark Mckinley He has some very tasty riffs.
I fucking love that dude.
he might be my favorite of all their lead guitarists. he's special
I'm glad that there are tabs because his definition of slow and my definition of slow are two entirely different things haha.

I grew up near Ryan and we both played in local bands back in Middle Georgia. Never really friends with him, but one of my close friends was one of his best friends, haha. So I sorta knew him and hung out by proxy, if you will. Awesome guy. Super stoked that he's made it to this level. He was always the best guitarist around, so I'm not that surprised, but it's still pretty fucking great.
I like to imagine that some other freak of nature, ungodly guitar player actually watched this and learned something.

"I'm not the best alternate picker" - nails it.
So many notes in he's solo's that the average shredder wouldn't think of, especially in extreme metal, what a dude!
I think it's a based take BUT I believe that Black Dahlia has the BEST solos in the genre. It doesn't get better and specifically Ryan I think has flow, phrasing and style unmatched. Damn, he is so good

I think they're just the best in the genre period. greatest death metal band of all time. they set a new standard with every release to remind everyone they're the kings, lol. every aspect of their music is top-notch
I love/hate when he says "and here's that part slow" and I think to myself, "slow for you is just about as fast as I can go..."
I like this guy plays very nicely and still very honest and modest... he is teaching a lesson to many arrogant shredders :)

Super cool solo; Ryan is insane! Thanks Guitar Messenger & Ryan!
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT SHIT.
"I'm no alternate picker" Jesus dude i know you're not Petrucci but don't sell yourself short
I cannot tell what this man is doing, only shredding like a beast.
If I had the option to have literally anything in this world that anyone could ever ask for, it wouldn't be money, women, power, or anything like that. It would be the ability to play and write music as good as this.

Gawwd this guy shreds so hard. Really clean, awesome.
The Knife Trade was from my little home town Athens Ga, and I remember going to watch them play abt 15 yrs ago.. it's cool to see him in BDM
Ryan: "heres that part slow" *plays it at normal speed*
My favourite guitarist forever
What a humble guy!!
i love this band because of him..he's my idol..
What a beast !, this solo is really epic
Arsis was an awesome band too. He's a gifted player.
"...brings the song to victory"
"I don't consider myself an alternate picker" = Obscene humblebragging.

fuckin christ ryan has MEAT HOOKS for hands. I wish I had near as big of hands as him.

I wouldn't say having huge hands is that big of an advantage. Sure, you have a longer reach, but sometimes they just get in the way.

VFAtv8 when you can just get jumbo frets or xl frets that makes no difference. larger hands are a complete benefit. but his hands are fat too, that's where having bigger hands can be a pain
