Great video. “You have to take what they give you” is a concept not just for Jiu Jitsu, but for all defense in martial arts as well.

Needs to go up on the wall in every dojo. Whenever I arrive at the academy wanting to try out a technique it's the one thing that doesn't come my way. I end up getting blinded as to what is actually available.

One of my absolute favorite setups is shooting/baiting the hip bump with a hand in the collar, if i get it ace but most of the time they drive back into me and straight into a loop choke. It works really well.

I have drilled the hip bump in class plenty of times but never made it work in sparring….until today! Watched this video on my way to class and hit my first successful hip bump sweep. Thanks Jon + Stephen!

Saw this course and thought, "this is my game, I know this already. Why do I need this?" Bought it anyway and oh man, trust me, you need this. such amazing details and put together in such an easy-to-understand way. For 87$ for online and dvd, you cannot beat it.

A hundred percent agree. The most important thing is transitions from one attack to another. However it comes when you can do all the basic attacks separately, so we are talking about the next level of mindset

Would something similar work if a person is sitting on your chest and trying to control your arms? I saw that in a street fight video.

Is the hip bump the primary sweep option if the guy is posture up?
