Easiest way to make friends in Sims two (or Sims busting out on the game cube) is trap everybody in a hotub together. They're forced to socialize with each other until you release them.
Every different console/handheld Sims game from the Sims 2 era is absolutely fascinating to me. Sims 2 on DS was a hotel management game, while on PSP it was a supernatural mystery RPG

As someone who basically one played sims 2 on console, I'm SHOCKED to learn that this was not the case. Wtf? They really dropped the ball on this series lol.
Aww, this game is so nostalgic for me. When I was a kid I had Lyme disease (I was able to almost fully recover, thankfully!) and me and my mom played this in the two-player mode to keep me entertained. For a long time we would replay it once a year just for fun, until we moved and lost track of the PS2. Most of my best Sims memories come from this game. She also found out at some point when we were playing again in my late teens that the game doesn't have any mechanic to prevent you from marrying LITERALLY EVERYONE AT THE SAME TIME and decided that was the best way to keep friends for promotions because spouses can't lose relationship points with you. We would laugh so hard when Noel was married to 12 people at the same time and every person he passed was blowing him kisses as he ran to work.

Ah, the nostalgia... My siblings and I played this in Swedish since our native language wasn't an option, and the two words I remember learning were "örfila" = to slap somebody (with a fish), and "kräkas" = to throw up. What beautiful childhood memories!

Why they got rid of local co-op is beyond me. (then again, EA is good at killing great titles)
_The Sims 2™_ and _The Urbz: Sims in the City™_ before it were absolutely top tier for Sims console gaming. The Urbz was definitely lowkey in that it seems like a lot of people don't remember it or simply never knew it existed, but i'd love to see something like that again.

Despite their limitations the console sims games before 3 had a special charm about them especially bustin out and urbz and one thing I miss that 2 had which should've been added to 3 and 4 is being able to have direct control of a sim it's just really nice being able to walk a sim without pressing a tile for them to go
@williamgaines9879

You could control your sim directly on the wii version but that's all that I know of
Playing this co-op was an absolute trip growing up The stupid shenanigans that could and most certainly *did* ensue
It's so heartwarming to see the console version of Sims 2 being remembered; I feel like it gets overlooked a lot when people talk about The Sims. I was also one of those that grew up playing the console versions since I wouldn't have a computer capable of consistently running games until I was off to college, and while the PC games may be more robust overall, there were aspects of console Sims 2 that were just so unique. I liked the goal-based gameplay and seeing what new area I'd be off to next, and I especially loved the experimental nature of cooking and how you could combine different ingredients to get all sorts of different effects. Sure, the controls were a little clunky sometimes, and I spent SO MUCH TIME in the Bio-Dome thanks to the 12 friend goal, but man, was the game a trip.
This game was such a fever dream. I played it religiously as a kid and loved every second of it. Thanks for the bizarre walk down memory lane!
Ahh, the memories of this game. Playing this on the PS2 together was one of the few moments where my sister and I weren't scratching each others eyes out. Or slapping each other with fish, if you will.

I remember an exploit in this game that if you relax in a double bed with another Sim, your relationship points with that Sim skyrocket.
@spalman100
Жыл бұрын
Yeah the best exploit in my opinion is similar. When you wanna finish job carreers you have to have a specific amount of friends (up to 14 or 15 I believe?) but you can always only have 7 people max on your lot (including roommates) and keeping friends was hard because once they leave the lot, the relationship level starts sinking and it's hard to keep up. So what I always do is buying the pool, placing 5 sims into it, and then an object right behind them, so they can't get out. That way they stay forever there and when Sims are in a pool together, their relationship level will ALWAYS rise. And that's how you can make like 5 friends in Sims at once.
I remember as a kid I had this for PlayStation 2 and for PC, And they where both so much fun, I would say that the sims 2 era is by far the best time for sims.
I remember slapping someone with a fish in this game. I laughed hysterically when they pulled a fish out and slapped me with it. I guess every Sim carries a fish with them.
I remember being so bummed out when I played the Sims for Playstation 2 and finding out you couldn't build a second floor... sooooooo disappointing.

I LOVED this game. I had it for the GameCube because I also didn’t have a PC to play the original and I spent so much time playing it. I’d stay up so many late summer nights when I was younger with the windows open while Pressure by Paramore played over and over again in simlish. This may honestly be my favorite Sims game.
This was my very first sims game and I loved everything about it.
Totally missed Mesa Gallery, Andromeda Arms, Jugen House lol. But seriously, this is one of my favourite Sims games, in all versions I've played. I never really had a pc of my own until college, so even just playing Sims 3 was difficult unless I could borrow my dad's laptop lol. But the console and handheld versions of the Sims games were some of the most memorable ways I've experienced the series.
Oh man sims 2 came out just when I had my first job, and I was over the moon with excitement for all the possibilities in a new sims game. It barely ran on the family PC, and load times took minutes for everything. Stuttering and lag was normal for me, and I could barely manage more than one sim at a time, my sistem just couldn't handle it. But it didn't really matter to me, I loved that game.

Would love to see you complete sims castaway! I remember that game giving me a hard time when i was younger and i wonder if it would still be challenging. A completely different sims to any other.
The Sims 2 for console is one I wish we could see rereleased (or at least given a spiritual sequel). I miss the ability to customize what you cook, and the variety of 'quests' & goals you fulfilled as you continued through. The Bustin' out, The Urbz, & Sims Medieval are in the same vein, but none of them quite compare to how well Sims 2 managed it (curse the data overload the game had, making the game eventually lock itself up).
"distrust of the government, and any and every possible organized institution" Hard to go wrong with that mantra.
I played all of those levels for ages, and it was always sad to move away. I couldn't really read any English then, but I loved it all.

It had the most fun split screen multiplayer that was so great.

Please never stop making Sims videos. They make my day! ❤️
Funny story about me as a kid playing this game. Whenever I played story mode I was ALWAYS stuck on the 2nd location and it was cus of the last quest you had to do. Ya see when I was young I was about ehhh 9-10 when I played this game. I could read but I didnt know a lot. So the last quest is to beat the asshole of the game at FOOSball. I thought it said FOOTball. I was always upset I couldn't progress further.
Yesss Sims 2 console! It is so goofy and fun! I've downloaded some of the songs from it and put them into my Sims 2 game cuz they're just so good and I miss them.
The Sims 3 for wii is one of the most broken experiences ever. Most of the biggest pre-built houses physically do not fit on any lot in the game, the ones that do come with so many objects that if you even manage to place them the game deals with the problem by starting random fires on your lot and warning you that's how it handles it via a dialogue pop-up. You can obtain infinite money by buying an empty lot, placing a bed and a fridge, going to the store and buying 103 3 star catfish, putting them in the fridge, going to sleep, then taking them back and selling them to the store. Highly reccomend
