The Birth of Quantum Physics - Carlo Rovelli and Conrad Shawcross

Ғылым және технология

Carlo Rovelli and Conrad Shawcross explore the idea of the quantum - the enigmatic and fiercely debated fundamental notion that a physical property can be quantised.
Get Carlo's book: geni.us/ODP0Fz
Watch the Q&A: • Q&A: Carlo Rovelli in ...
Carlo Rovelli’s new book Helgoland opens with the night the young Werner Heisenberg has an idea that will change physics in its entirety, together with the whole of science and our very conception of the world, forever causing a rip in our all-too-solid conceptions of reality. A world where nothing exists, except in its relation to something else. It is time, Rovelli asserts, for these deeply radical ideas to be absorbed into the whole of contemporary culture.

We are in the very odd situation where quantum mechanics is verifiably "true" to 22 or 24 decimal places, yet we know it's not quite right; it can't give us a satisfactory explanation for the double-slit experiment, where even a single photon seems to be distributing itself in some sense. There's a huge effort going on to find an epistemology that will get us through this very tight place, and Rovelli's seems to me to be one of the best branches of this effort.

If scientist could only perceive what it takes to create a quantum property. The notion of multiple fields existing as common isolated singularity in mater would be thrown out. Doesn’t that ideology sound ridiculous? Consider the movie Stargate. A locked in sequence to access points in space. A clustered micro sequence to various locations of specific singularities is a quantum wave next level way of thinking. A new sequence in combined elements displays a completely different code of access points with wave properties. Separate that element back into its original states and its lost waves return while the combined version of vanish. Splitting an atom tears a waves minuscule portal past a safe size in nuclear explosion of immense energy.

One bit of information is a technology Two bits of information create a new independent information- a new information structure What are atoms or matter? Structures of information or better, technologies! One technology = one individual atom Two technologies make a new technology A - new structure made up of two inner technologies or structures. Itself is a technology. Independent What is mathematics? Information interactions - creating new information / or interactions between set technologies (From & too infinity) What is time? Time is Information - interacting to create a order. A sense of entropy is the ordering of the information interactions - creating new technologies and technologies sets. 💯 logic

It is nice to hear of a physicist attempting to understand philosophy (Anaximander), but Rovelli's focus on materializations of symbols does not approach the sophistication needed for an epistemologically sound description of our experience. Without explicitly stating a non-magical/non-supernatural explanation to answer Leibniz' question of Why/How is there something rather than nothing, any discussion of labyrinthine details is pointless in an age of metaphysical chaos. I invite people to review a post-Heideggerian analysis (my channel) of the equiprimordial structure of our field of experience and arrive at a non-magical metaphysics and ontology of deception which agrees in some regards to the uncertain of the whole of science, an uncertainty that I would term unfinalizability. Modern science remains at the top of the epistemological hierarchy - and these findings must be respected. Theory is in the purview of philosophers - and courage is needed to respect what has been repeatedly demonstrated and what cannot be demonstrated.
