As a Bears fan, same. The Bears have always been terrible at managing quarterbacks, and I don’t think they would have done any better with Mahomes. They would’ve ruined him like they do every other quarterback. They would’ve disrespected him like they do every other player. And it would just become another big football controversy.

We would probably have seen a 2000s Chargers dynasty under Peyton Manning, and the Colts would have wanted a new quarterback by 2001. I think they would probably have taken Michael Vick with the first choice in the 2001 draft, leaving the Falcons with Drew Brees. He might have done well in Atlanta, and if so, that means the Saints, as well as the Colts, never turn from easybeats to powerhouses during the 2000s. I agree that ought to have been on the list, given the hype over both quarterbacks and the extreme contrast in their NFL careers.

I have watched several of these videos before, and they all dont mention my favorite. What if Drew Brees signed with the Miami Dolphins over the New Orleans Saints. (I know it's not the biggest what if but it's my personal favorite) let me break it down. Let's say Drew Brees becomes the Drew Brees we know today then these 2 things would probably occur 1. Brees being in the same division and conference as Tom Brady wouldve made it harder for them to win the division literally every year. Brady wouldnt have had the 1st or 2nd seed every year with Brees in his division playing each other twice a year. 2. The head coach of the Miami Dolphins team was Nick Saban. If Nick Saban has success in the NFL with a QB like Drew Brees he probably never goes back to coaching in college. Therefore the Alabama Crimson Tide probably arent the dynasty that we know today without Nick Saban, dominating and winning 5,6 championships. So this is my favorite what if because it effects both the NFL and College Football

Thatʼs an interesting one. Would Peyton have been as able to adjust to the NFL without his fourth season of college play? If he was, he could have led the Jets to much more than they achieved in the 2000s after having gone 40-89 between 1989 and 1996. He might have developed an even more intense rivalry with Tom Brady with both teams remaining in the AFC East after 2001. However, I am not absolutely sure he would have done equally well in the NFL without the fourth season at Tennessee.

Vikings would have been 0-5 in Super Bowls! Many injuries happened on the team during the game. When the Super Bowl happened, it was outside on grass which is unfamiliar territory. And with the Broncos having the experience advantage!

Here's one that I thought should've been in the video: What if Earl Morrall had seen wide-open receiver Jimmy Orr. Super Bowl III, the one Joe Namath and the Jets pulled off an epic upset and showed that the upstart AFL could play with the NFL (the first two Super Bowls Green Bay routed both Kansas City and Oakland) and lead to the league merging just two years later. Just before halftime, while trailing the Jets 7-0 the Colts ran a flea flicker play, a play they used against the Falcons during the season that lead to a touchdown, and fooled not only the Jets defense but even the cameraman. This left Jimmy Orr, the primary target, wide open near the end zone. Yet for some reason, in spite of Orr jumping up and down to get his attention, Morrall never saw him and instead his pass to another receiver ended up in an interception. Had Morrall completed the pass to Orr he would've scored, not only tying the game but also give the Colts some momentum going into halftime. More than that, when the Colts did score in the fourth quarter and recovered the onside kick, they would've been down by only two points instead of nine which would've allowed them to kick a go ahead field go with just a couple of minutes left in the fourth quarter and possibly winning in the game but instead Unitas threw four incomplete passes, sealing the victory for the Jets.

Aaron Rodgers would've been a bust. As a #1 overall pick he would've had to play right away and if you look at the video when he was in college to where he is now he needed that time to develop because his throwing motion is completely different from when he was at Cal.

One thing you forgot to add to the Mahomes what if: Two of the picks they gave up ended up turning into Alvin Kamara and Fred Warner. They wouldn’t have taken Warner in 2018 with that pick, but Kamara would have for sure been a Bear.

The one I was hoping they would have done was: What if the Colts drafted Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton Manning?

@@mclohan Another one is: “what if Ryan Leaf had not declared for the 1998 draft and played another year with the Washington State Cougars?” If he was going to be a bust anywhere and at any time, that would have meant the expansion Cleveland Browns drafting Leaf in 1999, and being soon faced with the need for another quarterback. I imagine the Browns might then have taken Michael Vick in 2001 - what would the result of that have been?

@@mclohan I largely agree but I have imagined that the Browns (or the Colts if they had drafted Leaf in 1998 as I said in another post) would not have traded the first 2001 choice and would have drafted Michael Vick. It would depend though on just how badly Leaf goes with the Browns - as it was they did not try to get Vick in 2001, and if Leaf was no worse than Couch they might not have in this scenario.

Those Biggest "What If" scenarios makes me thinking that it would be interesting and yet some make me feel bad thinking about it.

What if Tom Brady left the patrio- oh, wait, never mind.

What if the Bengals make Bill Walsh their head coach? Would he have built a dynasty in the AFC? Who would have filled the power vacuum in the NFC? Might the Bears have won more than just one title with that defense?

Yes he everybody talks about them taking my home is which I agree cuz I'm a Chiefs fan but I still can't believe they passed on even him and Watson how you pass up on the Sean Watson still blows me away so you have to risk you only played one year and then you have my home if you don't like either of those two you should have went with lots and he had the most experience and the most success still shocks me

The fact we didn’t even tryout Mahomes when he had a 400+ yard game because we were set on Trubiscuit... when the other option was WATSON...someone who made it to a championship with Clemson... honestly disgust me and I never wanna talk about this fact again

I think about the Mahomes decision often... and I have to think Ryan Pace does too. The league has been littered with GMs who outstayed their welcome by more than a few years. If Pace isn't on that list yet, I think he's coming close to it.
