@@cerulean5032 Because Vanguard is windows only, and Linux gamers runs a windows emulator, while Mac does its own thing. I suspect they'll enforce apple specific stuff for Mac.

I do feel like skin spotlights is a pretty important channel for Riot to have as it might affect their skin sales if they don’t have a workaround to these possible issues.

Riot already shows the new skins the only difference is skins spotlight rushes to show it all as soon as it hits pbe while riots waits until release, by the time the skins release i don't even remember if i saw them on spotlight

One thing that is notable about Vanguard anti-cheat is that it will make the game unplayable on linux. Which really sucks.

With everything being canon now. I trult hope that Nidalee gets what her LoR version looks like because thats what she actually looks like now

I hope this means they'll update Tryndamere soon. He could really use some visual upgrades.

If we are not getting Sevika from Arcane i don't think she will be around for many seasons, she definitely was the most likely to become one. Mel's mother is insane tho and i want to see how Riot actually integrates her into the Lore, since Arcane happens in the past but as a champion she should be alive in the present. Also, she has to appear older in league.

I would have preferred Silco support. This is disappointing. People say Renata is Silco because Silco is dead.. maybe but Renata is as interesting as a rock.

For the Arcane VGU, it coming after Season 2 means it could be for a champ from Season 2. There's a high chance for Orianna to show up and she could definitely use the VGU. There's also room for Blitzcrank possibly and he DESPERATELY needs at least a visual update.

But he's obviously going to become the full "Machine Herald" in Season 2 so the design there will probably be closer to his League design and could then work as an Arcane skin instead. I just feel like Blitz or Ori need the VGU more. They both REALLY need the visual updates and their gameplay could use the tweaks as well.

@@kevinthedot Viktor is also already in LoR, so they'd either have to change that, too, or end up with two versions of the same character. Visuals are one thing, LoR already made changes to some champions, but Viktor's voicelines are such a relic that they don't fit neither the lore version nor the Arcane version.

I wonder if they're going to reveal that Ambassa is also Rell's Mom or at least related to her. The resemblance is there and Ambassa seems to share a personality with Rell's unnamed mother. Also Rell Mel similar naming conventions

While that could be possible I really doubt it since Ambessa since to actually care about her family and knowing that there are some dark individuals in Noxus I don't think she would've given away her daughter like that

To me it seemed obvious, I mean in the same video they announced an arcane VGU they also showed the Singed and WW teaser and I think he actually makes the most sense, given that the shape of the Vander Warwick is so much chonkier and hulk-like than the one we are used to. I think after making Skarner chonky they have a taste for it haha.

@@dark_demon2522 What does that mean and why does it matter? Unless Vanguard knows EXACTLY what file to scan for, as Necrit said, it will scan EVERYTHING, so it'll have access to EVERYTHING. If a HACKER gets that same access through their servers, NOBODY's PC will be safe from just being pretty much kidnapped.

Just remember - don't get overly excited based on the concept art, because it will likely be "refined" even further until they end up with another Generic Hot Girl™ ^^' remember the original Kai'Sa concepts? I'm still hopeful especially since Karlach in BG3 has been a huge success that may give their marketing team some more confidence to actually pull the trigger, but it's best to wait until she's fully revealed!

Can't wait for the cinematic breakdown video! The Tryndamere and Aatrox moment is one of my favorite parts in League lore.

The ridiculous thing about the VGU voting is that Shyvana always scored high on those votes, not high enough to win first but usually high enough to be second. Even the graph that you showed shows that she was in second place. As a Shyvana main I'm finally glad that she's getting the much deserved VGU but I'm also hoping that they stick to the core concept of what they promised her to be: An auto attack bruiser.

As a Viktor OTP for MORE THAN 10 YEARS. I REALLY want that visual update, but I do not want a gameplay update. Unfortunately, I think it will be him that will get the VGU.

That is the first and last dev video that made me finally uninstall league. No chance I'm letting spyware into my PC. Even though there were little news regarding vanguard, it's stays what it is. A spyware. Not to mention Skinspotlights is gonna lose his job now. And no more custom skins like maps or qol changes. If not for that, I would just never run league again. They killed my favourite champion and whole universe with him.

with the arcane inspired gameplay, would also be cool to get a new summoner’s rift map where one side is piltover and the other side is zaun

14:00 What i think is, arcane skins are going to be Vik Singed WW Camille as the latter are probably going to join in arcane 2 (at least i hope), and the VGU is going to be Orianna that given the singed sneek-peek could very well become a sidestory

There are ways around vanguard, a lot of them. Idk if the sacrifice is worth it. Hopefully they add workarounds, like tools for content creators in the testing mode, a way to make it not chug older systems, or other fixes to get ahead of the problems that come with this choice.

Correct me if im wrong but from my understanding of the vanguard anti cheat. Since it is kernel level 0 it will ALWAYS be on as long as your computer is on, even if you are not playing the game, so it can cause problems for some people. The only way to remove it is to uninstall all games that run it.

@@misxfitx I looked into it a bit and, yes riot made it so you can turn off vanguard after a bit of user backlash, BUT if you want to play any game that uses vanguard, you will have to restart your PC.

16:57 it's funny how League have changed from time to time, from them saying that they cannot return Hexakill anymore because the game cannot handle 12 players at a time to 16 different players on one gamemode. Props to RIOT for continuously expanding their core game systems and gamemodes after the dogsh*t season of last year.

I could easily see Singed or Viktor as the Arcane VGU.

The introduction of vanguard is actually very scary to me because my valorant account got hardware banned for some 3rd party software. Wich im not sure wich. I had blitz wich should be compatible but nothingelse. They wouldnt tell me wich programm was the problem and would let me explain or reason with them. The decision to ban my account from some software was final. Im afraid they will take my league account too, wich i had for a long time...

@voilavoila196 I am perfectly OK with them changing his abilities completely. It is the crystal theme I cared about. His lore was fine, assuming they actually let him do something. He hates people who are accidentally killing his people for resources. That hasn't changed, really. He just has a group of humans he controls now. Which they could have added in the old lore. So they didn't need to change his history or theme to give him something to do.

Hey necrit question since arcane is set on the timeline so early, do you think that later seasons could have a shift and have different regions and champions as protagonists, i feel like after piltover and zaun the region that could've an arc should be ionia with the noxian-ionian war, there could be a whole lot of interating stories to tell there ñ, likw irelia, swain, kai and valmar, after that we could definetly follow to noxus and see how swain takes over the country.

I must say I am super excited about smolder. I love Gnar and how his lore and visuals are. Smolder looks super cool. And I play ADC quite a bit so he is going to become one of my favorites I am sure.

Amazing update, can't wait for that chill new gamemode!

Worth noting is that vanguard's runing 24/7 not only when game is active like most other anticheats which is concerning.

i literally cannot play with vanguard. to use vanguard you have to turn on secure boot, and to do that i have to turn off a setting in my bios. however when turning that setting off my pc literally will not send any visual signal through hdmi. them adding vanguard will literally make it impossible for me to play

my hope on the arcane update is vi she hasnt aged quite as well as she should have with the mobility creep in league her q is too telegraphed her ult cant lock down a target shes good against immobile targets but cant stick to anyone else id love to see her q combine with her ult so when she charges and hits someone the ult animation plays and the target is grounded for a little bit its such a telegraphed ability it should feel relativly strong to land it

Tbh i think they were forced by these bad years to show something. I still think it’s better to have surprises but they were kinda obligated to show those things now.

It's more that they restaffed the team from the lean years of 2021-2022 when a lot of riot employees left because of the COVID shuffle and/or migrated to TFT/Valorant/MMO/Insert any other internal project. During those times, they had a much reduced headcount working on league so it really didn't make sense to have a roadmap because it would look dire as fuck. Someone finally woke up and realized LoL is still their main cash cow and it shouldn't really be in a position where certain LoL teams were running on fumes or straight up not really existing anymore(like the gamemodes team, prior to reforming it). Bi-yearly or yearly roadmaps only are good if you've got the content pipeline to back it up and the playerbase takes one look at it and says "I'm excited for this and W". TL;DR GaaS needs a lot of manpower to make them work, never let your team reduce in size in any significant way, because that's going to come and bite you in the ass at some point.

I actually think she misspoke when she said "next year". I think she was meaning 2024, because it was still Nov 2023 at the time. She says it will be after scarner, split 2 of the season

Referencing 19:10 ; I remember playing prop hunt as teemo on summoners rift, just hiding in some random spot against garen or something. It would be awesome if it became an actual gamemode!

Surprised you didn't touch on chest changes and how terrible they are for ARAM players. Seems everyone has missed these massive changes. Edit: It's really amazing to see Hylia at Riot in this position. I remember following them on Twitter when they worked on fan skin concepts, especially for Cait. I'm really happy for them! Also screw more Porcelain skins and the sfx cracking screeching glass noises 😮‍💨

it's in the article they put out that they are removing ones you get from your teammates and there are ranked/requirements to getting them now that make it difficult to achieve them@@MoehClon

I think the Arcane VGU will be Vi to be honest, she's such a popular character and most of her kit is outdated, hell even if Wild Rift they moved about parts of her kit and her current base design just doesnt fit the new canon universe. For Shyvana i desperately hope its design C/the third design because my god does she look powerful, feral but contained. The middle design looks more suited for the boneclaw shyvana skin/primal version. Either way im super excited. ALSO PLEASE GIVE US SEVIKA AS A CHAMPION TOO

About yuumi leona, I just rekt them solo with renekton in lategame multiple times, but without 6 full items it was pretty pretty hard to beat them for me :D

it make sense to make a gamemode around arcane, as it COULD bring the entire fan base of arcane to play league more, if they do all of the things they announced 2024-2025 could be the new golden age of league of legend.

Loot of great things this year tbh. Looking forward to not playing them, I refuse to install Vanguard.

People should be on the barricades because of Vanguard! This kind of privacy intrusion should not be tolerated and by no means be declared as a sacrifice for the greater good. Riot should not be applauded for fixing their game if they make it unplayable in the same patch by forcing users to install rootkit malware.

Stop playing Valorant, H1Z1 , PUBG, apex and many many other games then, Kernel anticheat is nothing new in the gaming industry

If we get something like Odissey event i would go nuts, i spammed that mode with friends and we had do much fun with the augments, wish it came back

With a vastaya from Freljord I had hoped for a follower of the iron boar. But with a ranged caster I wouldn't get my hope up 😅

I seriously hope they won't change Viktor's gameplay significantly. I love his gameplay and if they ruined it, I'd just quit League.

An idea crossed my mind when Necrit tells us that mastery icon is kinda like Pantheon shield. That probably wouldn't be there, but themed icons would be cool. Like Targon related have that shield, void something purple-ish and, well, voidy, Shadowisles something undead green themed and that. Maybe like a separate skins for mastery icons or just for champion origin maybe. Malzahar gets void icon, Azir some Shurima stuff and that. I would love that

They specifically chose targon because they think it is a nice paralel between the effort and "climb" of people in the game and the effort to climb mount targon. Themed icons would be cool tho

Imagine a Mario-style party game with Arcane locations and themes, where u can use your league characters/skins. So like "Chem-tech Ball!" almost soccer like, "Hextech Control Point", etc. Plus your champion might impact you do better in some rounds than others. Like races for mobility, or last man standing.

Does anyone else remember how awesome the Dark Star Thresh game mode was?? That was a very chill time

6:14 it’s most likely Warwick. Even from the teaser you can tell he looks very different than in game, and his entire personality and character might be totally different in Arcane.

They've already given Warwick a VGU in the past and he's doing well as he is so I doubt they update him. I think ignoring Viktor or Singed it is more possible that Heimer gets the VGU, or even Orianna depending if she has a role in season 2

oh before i end this video i made a prediction ( im at 25 min) yesterday that the ending joke would be about how riot forge isnt doing anyting this year that meams there on the mmo now right --------coming back when i watch the rest------ ( i think im hyperfixating on necrit again) I WAS WRONG BECAUSE I CLICKED OFF THE DEV UPDATE AT THE LEAGUE LOGO NO ONE TOLD ME THEIR DOINGA MARVEL NOW

New champion has a dash/stun/lifeleach/shield on every ability, the abilities reset eachothers CDs and the R revives him if he dies and kills whoever killed him.

Im pretty optimistic about league this year. I haven't had fun on sr for a while now, and i was getting burntout on aram, but with the game modes finally back into swing might inadvertently bring some enjoyment back into sr/aram. I think this year is looking up, however they should really do something for linux users so that they can still play the fking game but seeing val not doing anything i doubt league will to.

I think the vgu will be for blitzcrank if they show him in arcane 2

Hearing about the mystery Arcane VGU almost makes me think it's a character thats gonna be introduced in season 2, and I almost wish it was Blitzcrank, like c'mon, My mans model needs to be updated to the Wild rift version, but the gameplay is iconic of him, so maybe they could do a Mundo type rework?
