Riot specifically said that he wasn’t an elemental dragon like an Ixtali or like Shyvana. He’s a dragon from Camavor. So I don’t think that’ll ever happen. Maybe with an ultimate or legendary skin

In Legends of Runeterra, all the dragons are scaling.

The Smolder gives me older champ vibes(like old tristana with her E debuff), which I really love! Cant for all the wanky builds will come up with it, and as much people hate him for one reason or another I think Riot did great job with Smolder, really loving how he looks so far!

I wonder if going a regular corki build would be beneficial, his R does dmg over time so rav hydra could be amazing, or even a full lethality build could be cool

Are you crazy? It's literally the same as Veigar, you're only limited by ability haste for your q cooldown. Where tf did you get the idea he stacks harder than Veigar? At 30 minute game he had 300 stacks, veigar would have at least as much too.

I think he doesn't need to build much damage items. He has a %maxHP true dmg on Q and flat damage scaling on all abilities. Maybe essence reaver as core item and some bruiser itens later?

Ok, let's see this closely. (there's a tl;dr at the bottom if you don't want to read too much) Crit items have the advantage of scaling up your Q and E damage through the crit chance stat, both its physical and magic portion. That damage scales up well through all Q evolutions and allows you to delete squishies by default - if tanks are a problem, you can build LDR without stacking up Q to its final "true damage" form, because you deal mostly physical damage anyway. And of course we have Essence Reaver and Quickblades, which both go really well with this drake: Sheen procs, solving mana problems, amping ability damage, tons of benefits. Bruiser items should work with abilities well - think about building Cleaver and Shojin for Haste and ability damage, that should do decent. The problems are mana management (Essence Reaver is somewhat still needed, otherwise you might need a Manamune if you want a different Sheen item) and lack of crit, which will cut down Q and E damage to, let's say, 70% of what you get from full crit build, making it less effective against squishies. The advantage is that after fully evolving Q you become a strong duelist (think of Fiora and Camille, true damage plus bonus Health equals winning all duels), and possibly you can make up in damage department by stacking really far. Also, building some HP makes you somewhat safer from being engaged on, because Smolder is otherwise made out of paper. So I'd say that crit is much more consistent, while going bruiser items means you aim more towards lategame and 1v1s. It's probably up to one's preference. I'd love to see a well crafted build which mixes both; Smolder would love items with both crit and HP, if there were any.

The Q being treated "like an auto" I think was maybe letting you lifesteal off of all of it- the AOE and the mini explosions behind. Your Q was healing you a TON. The tooltip also says specifically that you can only get one stack per champion hit, which suggests that champions can GET hit more than once by a single Q. I'm curious about botrk on him. Essence reaver was good but manamune might also work if his Q spams hits. The E might also spam hits for on-hit. AP ratios look WAY too weak to be playable to me? Despite being an ADC, his Q is so central and spammable that it seems like he's meant to be played as an AD mage.

Make him apply on hit, E would be broken. Make it longer, E would be broken. Look akshan E (the on hit damage) or zeri E(can go over walls)

His E actually does a lot of damage if you can land all the hits. You should have done about half of a champs health or quarter alone. The problem is he can be stunned, knocked, displaced, dislodged, hummerdingered, schwacked, feared, incarcerated and even sneezed out of his E which makes the barrage stop.

I suggest banning riven, jax, darius, garen, yorick, trundle, Tryndamere, ect... nvm don't take him toplane 😂 there are to many champions there that will obliterate him early game, can zone you off the wave and well... bully you out of lane😂 Mid or bot are viable, I suggest mid to benefit from the new void shrubs for stacking. As a toplaner, I would love to see him top and just all in him every time he walks into lane😂

For the record his E distance scales with movement speed, so depending on the scenario you can clear some insanely big walls.

seeing that his ults called "MMMOOOOMM!!" is just making me hear the oneyplay clip of zach just screaming "mommey!"

I want to see you do Karthus with the new ultimate ability cooldown reducing items and spam your ult with the burn damage to harass the enemy team

When I was wondering what his ult would be, I hoped it was going to be him transforming into his big inferno dragon form and have empowered abilities, but I guess these abilities also work but I am happy on how they made the character anyway.

Essence reaver + navori quick blades is 1000% what I would build. Makes the most sense for him imo. There is also an argument for on hit.. I’d be curious to see how that goes..

Maybe you could go a build where you let the stacking do most of the work in top lane with the new Terminus item plus Jak'sho

You should build RFC and see if his Q has the same interaction that MF's does where it gives the Q increased range as if it were an auto. I think as far as damage goes, his W and E don't do a ton, but Q and R do quite a bit, feels like he plays similarly to MF but more mobile with the wall jumps. The execute just needs removed completely, keep the true damage %max burn but remove the execute lol

Not sure, but i think this guy is supposed to be built on-hit (assuming his e doesnt get reduced like urgot). Not only does his q apply on-hit to everything it hits (even from explotions), also his e would be applying on hit on every one of his dast autos

I wish they will release skins that interacts with the environment. Like whichever drake that change your environment in game, you change as well, drake souls and elder execute. It would be so good imo
