B) you can go back over the last 20 years or so & he’s been right WAY more than he’s been wrong. Nobody is going to be 100% correct on every evaluation and cherry picking one or two times they are wrong or making a stupid excuse for as time they are right just shows your ignorance. You can disagree with his evaluation and recognize that he still knows what he’s talking about at the same time because he’s been doing this for a LONG time for a reason.

You know what’s funny? I remember the same exact talking points and rigmarole back in 2022 just for only one QB to go in the first round and that was Kenny Pickett. I remember the 2022 mock drafts there were like 6 QBs going in first round. Malik Willis is backup to second rounder who easily run the job. Matt Corral is in training camp for the USFL Stallions. Desmond Ridder is about to warm many benches. Sam Howell lost his job in one year. People get lost in the narratives, talking heads, mock drafts etc. for all we know Jayden falls to late first. Maye goes third round. Caleb and McCarthy only day 1 guys. Nix falls early second

To say “at all” I disagree. You can argue he doesn’t have the body of work some of the other prospects have but read his scouting reports. His flaws aren’t big flaws, even his scouting reports mention this. The biggest knock on McCarthy isn’t a knock on him at all. It’s that he didn’t have to show certain aspects of his game during big games. But that’s bc Michigans run game was so dominant. He still showed he could be elite in big games, just didn’t have to this last season.

After watching some videos of Drake Maye, I have no clue what Merrill Hoge is talking about. Yeah, he’s somewhat inconsistent, but I agree with Orlovsky about the sloppy footwork. Drake’s flaws are ones that usually can be fixed. He’s big, quick, strong, and has a ton of arm talent. While I don’t think Drake Maye will ever be Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Joey B, the dude has some serious talent, but he needs some refinement first.
