Sabrina Carpenter is certainly having more of a breakthrough moment as Olivia Rodrigo was the first to skyrocket to superstardom overnight and keep the momentum going. There's still a lot of promise for her if she continues the pure pop sound. I'm having a good feeling that Raye will escape the sophomore slump with her next album. Tate McRae brings back to how singers used to have the moves just like Janet, Aaliyah, Beyonce, Britney and Ciara. She is slowly growing on me because greedy seemed reminiscent of Timbaland's productions ala Nelly Furtardo's Loose era (Promiscuous)

olivia rodrigo still isn’t a household name though..she didn’t blow up like avril lavigne, lady gaga, katy perry, nicki minaj or taylor swift did when they first hit the scene. billie eillish is the only one to do that so far from this generation.

Other cases: Djo (Joe Kerry began as an actor, first in commercials and then appearing in films and series. His peak would come in 2016, with the Netflix series "Stranger Things" as "Steve Harrington." But his career as a musician would begin in 2015, being part of the band Post Animal and later in 2019 as a solo artist, launching under the name "Djo". Their debut album "Djo, Twenty Twenty" was released on September 13, 2019, receiving positive reviews for its influence from the psychedelic rock era of the 60s; 3 years later, his successor "Decide" would arrive, which includes the song "End of beginning" that would arrive as a single on March 1, 2024 after going viral on TikTok; The song is and continues to be a hit around the world, reaching number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranking strongly in other countries, being his most listened to and positioned song to date, making him one of the most promising artists of 2024.) Shaboozey (Born in Woodbridge, Virginia, His stage name is derived from mispronunications of his surname Chibueze, meaning "God is king" in Igbo. In his childhood, he was inspired by watching music videos on 106 & Park, as well as his time at a boarding school in Nigeria for junior high. In 2014, Shaboozey founded the production company V Picture Films and released his first single "Jeff Gordon". 3 years later was signed to Republic Records after the singles "Starfoxx" and "Robert Plant". In 2018, he released his first album "Lady Wrangler" and 4 years later his second album "Cowboys Live Forever, Outlaws Never Die" through Empire Distribution. However, 2024 is the year for Shaboozey, first he appeared in two songs for Beyonce's recent album "Cowboy Carter" ("Spaghettii" and "Sweet / Honey / Buckiin") and in April releases his third studio album "Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going" presented with the single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" which became viral on TikTok and allowed the artist to chart internationally, peaking at number 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs, replacing Beyoncé's song "TEXAS HOLD EM" making two black artists have a song at the top of said list.) Madison Beer (Madison Beer began posting KZread videos of her singing covers of popular songs in early 2012. This caught the attention of then-pop star Justin Bieber, who shared her cover of Etta James' "At Last" to his followers, causing her to trend worldwide on Twitter and garner substantial media coverage; This is how she signed with Island Records, managed by Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun. Her first songs came from 2013 like "Dead" or "Home with you", later included in her first EP "As She Pleases" released in 2018; 1 year later, she left Island Records to signed with Epic Records. In 2021 she released her debut album "Life Support" after four singles released a year earlier, the album had positive reviews and debuted at number 65 on the Billboard 200 with 11,800 units in its first week. On September 15, 2023 she released her second studio album "Silence Between Songs" with the same positive reception as their previous album; the album has singles such as "Spinnin" and "Reckless". 2024 began with the release of a new single "Make You Mine" in whose music video there are references to the movie "Jennifer's Body"; The song begins to take flight on various music charts globally, making Madison continue to have its place among new rising artists.) Dasha (Since the year of the pandemic, 2020, Dasha began releasing music; However, its time would come when "Austin", released on November 27, 2023, went viral on TikTok with more than 300,000 videos published. The song began to chart strongly, reaching number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100; This song is included in their second album "What Happens Now"; So far we are with a new artist with a single hit because so far this is the only song that is very well positioned.)

MY THOUGHTS REGARDING THIS VIDEO Thought #1: We really thought back then that Ava Max, Bebe Rexha, Zara Larsson, Anne Marie, and Camila Cabello were "the next big thing." I mean, they were actually popular in the late 2010s as beginners, and at those times, we thought that they would be bigger in the next decade (2020s). However, they tried to play it safe with their music, and whenever they tried something new, it felt fake, inauthentic, and forced, which I think is one of the main reasons for their downfall. They may have hits, but they lack personality, especially identity in my opinion. Thought #2: I agree with all of the artists mentioned here, but I think Benson Boone and Artemas are only carried by TikTok at this moment. People know their hits, but they are not familiar with the artists behind them. Thought #3: I think Phoebe Bridgers, Rina Sawayama, RAYE, Gracie Abrams, and Madison Beer should be on this list! • Phoebe is a critical darling, and she's good both as a soloist and with her band (Boygenius). Not to mention, Taylor Swift loves her music, and she is the most awarded artist at the Grammys this year in 2024, winning four trophies. • Rina Sawayama's debut album, SAWAYAMA, was a critically acclaimed album of the year 2020 (and is one of the best pop albums of this decade). Her major collaborations so far are with Elton John and Charli XCX, and she was featured in the John Wick movie last year. • RAYE is another example of an artist who started with a very strong debut album. Her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, received widespread acclaim last year, along with its hit Escapism. It's sad that the Grammys snubbed her last year, but at least she broke records this year at the Brit Awards, being the most nominated and winning in one night. Plus, she got a writing credits from Beyoncés Cowboy Carter this year. • Gracie Abrams is more of an indie or underground artist who is now getting the recognition she deserves after she found a new audience as one of the performers on Taylor's Eras tour alongside Sabrina Carpenter. Her debut album last year was good, got great reviews, and she was nominated this year at the Grammys for Best New Artist! Also, she's set to drop her sophomore or second album this year. • Madison Beer is now on her way to being one of the main pop stars of this decade. Many people are still shocked that none of her populat songs charted on the Hot 100 since the release of her debut in early 2020s, and this year, her new song Make You Mine, which is gaining a lot of views, streams, and media attention (and was also inspired by the movie Jenifer's Body), is now challenging for a Hot 100 debut and becoming her first Hot 100 entry! Also, her very good sophomore album was nominated for a Grammy this year for Best Immersive Album.

So far our new main girls that's been doing good since the start of this decade are: Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Billie Eilish, and Megan Thee Stallion Edit: All of them have commercial success (charts, sales, and streams), released hits after hits, their albums are both have commercial and critical acclaim, and all of them have won many awards including the Grammys.

I think Phoebe Bridgers will always be more ''niched''. Also, I don't think she's a rising star, she's actually a more estabilished artist at this point even though she has only 3 projects and she'll probably be one of the main names of her niche (contemporary folk, folkpop, indie folk)

Im a Sabrina carpenter fan and i didn't like her new album ! Skin was her best and last song ... She changed her sound to be a like to Taylor swift ! She had so many good songs from her 4 albums! If you're a fan you'll get my point . I really miss her unique sound she had such a beautiful voice ! Shadows , eyes wide open, on purpose, skin , smoke and fire and dimonds are forever all are bops of her ! In case of tate i think she had a Britney vibe but i don't like her music except greedy cus its stuck in my head . I tried to listen to her music and its boring nothing new ..both her albums sound strange.. She had a nice voice but can't sing live ive watch her performances on KZread and she obviously lip syncing the whole songs.. The rest are not memorable at all. Especially tyla her song water was a nice try but it sound like another song that i already heard . Dame music this year was awfully made .. Even Ariana can't save this year her best songs on her new album for me were we cant be friends, the boy is mine and i wish i hated you wich was her first song to made me cry i never was an ari fan but dame this song got me 😅 My fav album of her is dangerous woman.

I agree with you about Tyla, she's only got one hit. I don't think she'd blow up with just ''Water'', if she'd release more huge songs that wouldn't just go big on Tiktok, maybe she could become big. But right now we can't tell much because of just having 1 hit. I don't agree with you about Sabrina, she's got multiple hit songs ''Espresso'', ''Feather'', ''Nonsense'', ''Skin'' & ''because I liked a boy'' and probably way more and the way she writes her songs so powerfully through emotions and what she goes through. I think she's so talented and how she makes lyrics and tunes go so well together is so nice to see and hear. I don't think Tate her songs are catchy, neither do I think they're trash. I know her since 2020 from her song ''you broke me first'' and ''she's all i wanna be'' and ''one day''. I think they can get stuck in your head but not in the catchy way, more of how addictive the sad sound is. I do think she's talented.
