The Biggest 2nd Hand Store in Tokyo:Inside Huge HARD OFF and HOBBY OFF

Hello guys!
In this video, I visited the biggest Hard Off and Hobby Off in Hachioji, Tokyo. The place is enormous and has a lot of cool stuff, so I recommend visiting if you're in Tokyo and interested in retro game hunting or getting some affordable anime figures.
Inside Hard Off, I discovered some fantastic 🎮retro games and consoles, along with other cool items such as PCs, PC monitors, cameras, musical instruments, and more. Meanwhile, in Hobby Off, I found 🚀 cool anime figures from Dragon Ball, Naruto, Attack on Titan, Baki, and more. I hope you enjoy the video.
I have included some prices converted from Japanese Yen to US Dollars, so please use them as a reference since the values may change over time.

Hi, that’s correct! The fluctuation in the Japanese yen against the USD can indeed make shopping in Japan more attractive for tourists. Coupled with the tax-free system, it’s even more enticing. Thanks for pointing that out!

Looks cool, but that's a pretty expensive used store. Must have rare stuff to warrant that much for it. Are they a 'collector's museum' or intending to sell something?

Hi, thank you for your comment! These thrift stores are very famous in Japan for offering good items in decent condition at reasonable prices. However, there are many pricey items, so in my opinion (above 6 years living here in Japan), it's kind of both. I have seen some stores with unique pieces for collectors, but most items are for sale. If you're lucky, you may find collectible pieces at a very good price, but the possibility of this happening recently is decreasing, which is a shame! Have a great day!

Hi thank you for your comment. Last year I visited the store “Volks Akihabara Hobby Paradise“ in Akihabara. I found very few digimon figures. I wish I could record it more time but at least some are shown in the 18:55 minute of the video in the following link : kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKF2pZeHh7vfh6g.htmlsi=kvPvC_0jsKlm8JQP Additionally, In my experience I would say that Radio Kaikan in Akihabara and Nakano Broadway definitely you can find some figures. I hope you find this useful. In the future I will consider to make a video of about hunting digimon figures in Tokyo, so stay tuned of the upcoming videos! Thanks for watching!

Hi, thank you for your comment! I also think it’s still pricey, but if you compare it with prices outside Japan, I think the prices are relatively acceptable. However, recently I’ve been noticing that all retro games and consoles have been increasing in price, and it seems this trend will continue! Thanks for watching!

Hi! I share your frustration. It’s true that sharing information can sometimes drive prices up. I also believe that the recent increase in tourism in Japan contributes to higher prices for goods (video games, consoles, anime figures, and merchandise) and services, especially in tourist areas, which also frustrates the locals. Thanks for your feedback!

They make more money off of tourists than locals so it does make sense. I’m sure theres other store that still cater to the japanese market thus better prices
