Brigham's was on the corner of Governor's Ave in Medford Square and the corner still has an ice cream place. Guys used to call the payphone across the street straight from Vietnam in the 60's-70's because Brigham's was the main hangout for all of Medford and they knew someone they knew would pick up. The Safe of the former bank is on view in an Italian Restaurant that took over the Bank location.

Picture a room the size of a Southie living room now picture pulling out a bunch of kitchen drawers and things that are half the size or double the size of kitchen drawers now start piling them up on the floor hundreds of them and now try to assess something that's at calf level. Plus equipment, well some and what 2 men in there? Now get down that level and try prying or drilling the boxes never mind burning or a magdrill(probably not) then two feet foot and a half clearance to pull the thing out it would be hard I remember hearing this I didn't think it was about this I thought it was about something else that I heard it but I always remember that not that I ever did something of this magnitude but make sure you don't mess up your own workspace

Thank bank alarm went off at mdc when they tested it before the job took place. You are correct.. Bucky got whacked over something else that had nothing to do with the bank.

I remember this like it was yesterday but really only knew what the Herald decided to print but yes this was a huge deal and haven't really given it much thought til now. I’m a roofing contractor and was called to a crime scene that took place on the first block of Newbury st July 4th weekend maybe 2010-2011… group of people snuck up a shared stairway to a roof where they were able to cut into a yoga studio then with a wet saw cut through the concrete floor into the jewelry store with a basement full of safety deposit boxes. Fireworks from the esplanade supposedly muffled the noise. Sounds very similar.

Yup I told you before my boy did a bank burglary in Cambridge and had the FBI following our whole crew lol. Tapped all the phones and had fbi agents in random houses taking pictures of us. He got 12 years but got out in 7 on an appeal. 300k was the loot but I think all the people he told to hold it eneded up burning him. When he got out he was “broke” but who knows. He got deported to Africa and now he definitely not touching that money. That’s where he messed up trusting people with money. People have no problem flipping on you when it involves a lot of money! He gave my boy 5k in 5 dollar bills lol. Crispy bulls untouched! They were so sticky and smelled strong! Crazy times. You can google the story and it had a ten minute special on Fox News. They lied though, of course they make the story sound more juicy. It was a inside job with the manager

He wasn’t into that gangster shit but these were also people he grew up with so it was what it was. That was the 80s I was just born lol Probably had something to do with Joe getting shot and turning states evidence . His ex wife was at my uncle’s funeral in 2015. Most of the stuff you cover hits really close to home for me and I’m happy someone doing it.
