It’s about wanting to take pride in your work by working well, rather than being made to stop and eat your failure in front of an audience. I am not much of a fan of Gordon Ramsey, so I admit that- but I don't think he's even remotely fair. I like my steak cooked Medium Well. I don't *give a fuck* what other people think. Both of the steaks he made the sides eat were *not* "cooked to fuck" ... In fact I don't like any pink, I would have wanted it MORE cooked. Does that mean I want it burned and tough, not at all. I have been cooking for what, 25? years - I can cook my steak just fine, no pink, it's great to me. And he berates them. It's funny, when you think about it, if he was doing this shit today - treating employees like garbage and "bullying at the workplace", he'd be cancelled as fuck before that steak was cooked. But 2007? Entirely different Planet Earth.

Now they'd cancel him in a heartbeat. Same with Kitchen Nightmares. He yells and screams and people and tells them what to do, and then gets to spend the TV-show's money cleaning up the place. I could transform a restaurant like that. He tells them "Fire the people who suck at their job, clean the place up, and work harder." and people think it's The Oracle of Omaha.

Like in the head to head comp where Milly had the right stuff but needed more seasoning, you could see Gordon was proud he's getting there. Although he's using it in the wrong context, I think what he's trying to say is 'Her's wasn't good either, mine was just worse' Like it happens from time to time that a judge might call someone 'Good' and therefore, win, whereas in reality they're terrible, but not as bad as the other person. It's like if someone served up a piece of fish with all the bones still in it and slightly undercooked, but it's technically better than the other fish, which is completely raw and has a piece of shit on it. Alright in fairness he's not entirely wrong. Yes it's winning, but there's a difference between losing because you got outperformed, and losing because you underperformed. If his burger was near perfect and hers was perfect, I guarantee you he wouldn't have said that. However, hers was average, and he didn't do it right, so he lost. I admire Meghan but when she didn't helped her 'teammate' when she asked if what she cooked was okay, I got pissed of. I know it's a competition but if you want to be a head chef you also need to lead others since you yourself has enough experience to determine whether that was cook or not. It's not babysitting, it is just helping the team take out the food and move on to the next ticket.

I didn't watch this season so I can only speculate but based on his behavior in this video I would say he's not just an asshole to women but to everyone regardless of their gender. This show pits the women against the men by having them on gender based teams so Frank is gonna insult his opponents however I think he would act the same even if his opponents were men. Of course that doesn't mean he's not sexist but I think it's more of a shitty personality issue.

I think what he means is that he got automatically disqualified for not following the instructions and that he would've won if gordon would've allowed the slight deviation from his instructions. It's still cognitive dissonance, but it's not that bad.

Well you also have to think about the fact that she always has to be the dependable one to do everything, it can be frustrating. The chef's should know what they are doing and not always depend on her. I mean you are in hell's kitchen, ya you work in a team but you also should have that individual potential.
