I feel so old when I hear someone say they’ve never heard of The Eagles. I’m only 61, and still feel 30. All I can say is, do yourself a favor and start listening to them. They’re still selling out arenas despite the death of Glenn Frey, one of the lead singers and writers.

Amen!
The Eagles absolutely _owned_ the radio in the 1970s. "One of These Nights," "Lyin' Eyes," and "Take It Easy" are some of their brilliant hit songs.
Don Felder and Joe Walsh dueling on those guitars!!!!👏👏👏👏
Two of the best guitar players to ever share the stage together.
"Hotel California" is symbolic for the high speed lifestyle of Hollywood/LA.

I found myself living in West LA in those years when I was 24-30 years old. The Eagles gave voice to what I was going through, the parties, the discos, the Troubadour. It was all out in front ready to be experienced. I found I could never really check out, it can take you captive.
Addiction, bro: "you can check out any time you like but you can ever leave."

‘‘Some 'dance' to remember, some 'dance' to forget’’
Eagles greatest hits...one of the all time greatest selling albums in Rock history, still today 40 + years later! Every member in the rock Hall of Fame both with the Eagles and with other bands!
This band deserved every bit of their success. They were an amazing group. The harmonies were always on point and the lead singer was usually whichever member of the band wrote the song, and of course those guitars. Such spectacular talent.
The Eagles are the Beatles of the US! Every song was a hit!

I can't think of 1 song of theirs that I don't like.
The Eagles are like Zeppelin in that they don't have bad songs, and every band member can sing. Some of the greatest harmonies you will ever hear and talk about ballads...
Joe Walsh has the red bandana on his head. Great guitarist and performer in his own right.
Each member is lead singer depending on the song. The drummer/singer was Don Henley. Red bandanna is Joe Walsh, creator of the guitar duet.
The Eagles are phenomenal. My favorite band in the whole, wide world and that is not an exaggeration!
"You can check out any time you like but you can never leave". Bring your alibis. It's a mystical song and one of the best by The Eagles. :)
Eagles are one of my favorite bands from the 70s. They were my husband's all-time favorite. So much so that one of the songs I played for his funeral was Desperado by the Eagles.
Don Henley - drummer, Glenn Frey - Acoustic guitar, Randy Meisner - bass guitar, Don Felder - double neck guitar, Joe Walsh -rhythm guitar handkerchief. They have many awesome songs. They are known for perfect instrumentation and amazing harmonies. 4 of the 5 sing lead.
"stab it with their steely knives." A jab at their (mostly friendly) rivals, Steely Dan.
Saw them in 1975 when they were a warmup act for the Rolling Stones. They were outstanding.
Great choice for your first time hearing them. My personal favorite❤❤😂
This is what we grew up with!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's actually about a recording studio in Malibu. Stevie Nicks is the woman in the song! The beast was fame, money, cocaine and Stevie!
March 22,1977 I was at the Cap Center in Landover, Md. and witness this great concert with my bride of (now) 59 years. Linda Ronstadt was the opening act. Greatest concert we ever went to, and we have gone to many. Felder and Walsh were beyond fantastic on this song. Things went well for years, until Don Henley kicked him out, which is a shame, as Felder WAS Hotel California. To me, that's when the bank started going down hill. Damned shame.
They have a ton of great songs.
HC is so great that even my piano cover sounds good! 😉 Congrats for choosing it!!! 👍👍
This is one explanation of the song Hotel California.. This song is about the [Halfway House] or rehabilitation center of the rich and famous drug and alcohol abusers known as the [Hotel California]. The hotel is for the rich and famous drug and alcohol abusers. "And I was thinking to myself [this could be heaven or this could be hell]." This refers to what he will be subjecting himself to during the very painful withdrawal process. And the hours-long epileptic-like seizures his body will be going through to rid the body of its drugs and alcohol in his system. "Her mind was Tiffany twisted she got the Mercedes Benz. She has lots of pretty pretty boys she calls friends." Tiffany's is world-famous for its fine and very expensive jewelry. She is wealthy with very expensive taste in cars and jewelry. And her friends are actors, models and rich kids. "How they danced in the courtyard Sweet summer sweat. Some dance to remember Some dance to forget." This refers to the painful and gut-wrenching withdrawal process one must go through to rid themselves of the drugs and alcohol they have in their system. "So I called out the captain "please bring me my wine" we haven't had that spirit here since 1969." Refers to the Woodstock era of "Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll." "And still those voices are calling from far away wake you up in the middle of the night just to hear them say... Welcome to the Hotel California what a lovely place what a lovely face. Plenty of room in the Hotel California. They living it at the hotel California what a nice surprise bring your alibis." In every halfway house or rehabilitation center. The staff along with past drug and alcohol abusers who are counselors and to are part of the staff...Always welcome you with open arms anytime day or night. "What a nice surprise bring your alibis." This refers to the many excuses the abusers will give to the staff. As to the many reasons why they became addicts. "Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice. And she said we are all just prisoners here, of our own device, and in the master's chambers they gathered for their feast they stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast." Last thing I remember I was running for the door I had to find the passage back to the place I was before. Relax said the night man we are programmed to receive you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave!" Mirrors on the ceiling refers to the big room where all the addicts gather to receive their drug substitutes to ween them off of the hard drugs. Pink champagne on ice refers to the drug substitute 'Methadone" which is a liquid and is pink in color. The drug and alcohol addicts are prisoners of their own self-destruction. And they themselves are to blame for letting themselves become drug and alcohol abusers. The Beast is the "Drug and Alcohol Addiction" an addict will have to live with for the rest of their lives. The addict will never be rid of the addiction. It will be a constant battle for the rest of their lives to live drug and alcohol-free. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave refers to "Once an addict always an addict!"
so glad it was unblocked. Love this performance. Filmed in my hometown of Maryland.
IMO the best guitar duet ever!! Don Felder on 2 headed guitar and Joe Walsh on the single!!
Saw the Eagles in 1977, in Auburn, AL LIVE!! 21,000 lighters up, BEST CONCERT EVER! Dating Psycologist, had drink/pot! THEY opened with HOTEL CALIFORNIA!!!! Will take that 2 my grave!!
they have some of the best, if not the best, Harmonies in the music world. You really need to Google them and listen to all their music. Benn listening to the Eagles since the early 70's
Congrats!..You picked the right video to react to.. This is the best version of the lot!
The Eagles song Desperado is one of my lifetime favorites
Also, "New Kid in Town" by Eagles and "Heart of the Matter" by Don Henley solo.
I usually don’t like live performances being reacted to on You Tube but this one actually does the band Justice.
It’s about addiction !!! The lead singer Don Henley said it was about fame!!! The stabbing w the steely once and never leaving can be a metaphor for both!!
A piece of music history
From same performance, for the love of all that is good...please react to " TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT...The Eagles, and listen to the Bass player , Randy Miesner, take lead vocal....and appreciate, the greatest American band, of the 21 Century, and beyond.
That is the best rock song of America. It's about a drug trick .
Dear JM, I love your reaction. Greetings from Germany. The song is based on a novel from Edgar Allan Poe (USA).
One of the best bands ever! Each musician was a star in their own right!
The smile on your face tells a great story, bro. A classic from the Eagles
My favorites.
I saw Eagles Live do this iconic song, and Don Henley do it live twice with his awesome band. Always a crowd favorite.
Such an incredible group of musicians and singers. So many hits. Just say play the Eagles and listen…
Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac was a driving force behind many of the Eagles songs. She was involved with Don Henley and Joe Walsh of the Eagles and Lindsay Buckingham Buckingham and
Glenn Frey, the singer/drummer, said that it wasn't about a hotel, it was about fame.

@@Patricia-yh4fr Ack! Of course you are right. Damned dyslexic fingers.
Amazing band
GREAT reaction vid! Letting the song play, then adding commentary is a great way to react. It's amazing that half a century later this music (the Eagles, Jackson Browne, among others) is still reaching new audiences. The contorted faces that Joe Walsh (red bandana) made while playing are hilarious. GREAT band. GREAT reaction. Don Henley (drums/lead vocals) is also awesome!
Someone once said Hotel California is a bad Yelp review with a 7 minute guitar break.
Great reaction. I just subscribed. 👍 I've enjoyed several of your reactions tonight. There is actually several performances they did at the Capitol Center and one of the other ones gives better sound quality and also some views of them backstage, and views of the crowd as they took the stage. The Eagles were called a super group. The talent was just unreal. Most of the band members sang lead on different songs. This one had Don Henley singing lead. They had so many hits. I loved them all, but Take It to the Limit, and Peaceful Easy Feeling were two of my favorites, besides this one which was their biggest hit. Thanks man, keep it up. 👍😉
Always thought this song was about the dark side of fame.

It is. It’s about becoming jaded by the lifestyle.
amazing , love your Muscic
For a pop song, I have never heard Latin and Reggae styles fused so well. "One Of These Nights" (another well-fused tune) at least (*wink*) ties as the Eagles' GOAT. And since you enjoy Don Henley's voice, check out his first solo hit "Dirty Laundry" > Pure Phun.
Such a great song... mesmerising music esp the guitar player...drummer...the guys are really fantastic ....
Everyone misses "Victim Of Love" but it's another Great Eagles Song.
Yes, when you sound live just like in the studio, that says something! So much talent here and so much more for you to check out of theirs!
I would like for you to react to Not enough love in the world by Don Henley; leader singer & drummer of the Eagles…….ty! Very authentic reaction!
Top tier group. Greatest of all time!!
I found your channel last week and really love your reactions especially Beatles and Queen. I haven’t gone through your catalogue so if you haven’t heard these two bands I recommend Supertramp (try Dreamer, Hide in your Shell and The Logical Song) and Steely Dan (Reelin’ in the Years, Rikki Don’t Lose that Number and Any Major Dude). Both excellent bands! Keep them coming!
Thnks man from Spain, you are reacting the best music ever. (at least for me). Keep doing it please
❤😊
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎
Joe Walsh went on to have a few hits of his own. Very unique. Check out Rocky Mountain Way and Life's Been Good to Me so Far. Space Aged Wiz Kid even held its own against the big kids of pop on the charts. Don't even get me started on his mastery of his guitar. He's a character on stage as well.
Try Sultans of Swing or Lola.
Their ghost she's the one that sends you ztoo heaven or hell al are dead .
Is a story about doing drugs in the hotel
jmboy tv listen to don Henley x- eagle solo song - dirly laundry . it's banger . thanks be safe peace. johnnyboy
i thing this hotel represents drugs. So atractive but no one can leave it
Joe walsh inmortsl!
Love this song/band nephew. Classic. 🖤🖤🖤🤎🤎🤎. The guitar solo at the end of the song gives me goosebumps.
I did see this. I remember your expression when the guitars kicked in
