I don’t think I’ve ever seen a soapbox go farther without its driver than the that vineyard one

They might be bad designs for drivability, but they are great designs for originality ! When they get me to laugh just looking at it, they deserve a gold medal !

The guy host 😄 Sounds like he is really enjoying covering the races. His laugh makes me laugh.

Imagine going 40km/h ( 24 mph) in a tiny box with 3 wheels and no seats

The commentary makes this so much more fun, the guys enthusiasm is second to none 👌

The absolute best part about these races besides the creativity is getting to watch prime examples of entropy in action, like the giant castle falling apart.

They may not be first in the race, but they are first in our hearts.

There's a first. I worked really hard this week and was watching this after work. I dozed off for maybe 5-7 minutes, woke up and explained to my partner "we're almost ready, the repairs aren't bad." She was like, "what the hell are you talking about?". It was so real. We just had a cardboard boat regatta about a month or so ago, but the video was playing while I dozed off and I jolted back thinking we were in the middle of a competition. Brains are weird.

Hot Wheels needs to come out with a line of the best soap box derby cars. I suppose the problem is in getting the rights to use the designs. Got a hunch most of the designers of them would let Hot Wheels copy them for free.

Yeah, there should be a 4 wheel rule.

Rear wheel steering is the absolute worst kind of design for any kind of vehicle that goes faster than about 3 miles an hour

For years my metal fab shop applied and never got accepted we have built racing car chassis submitted winning designs not this stupid stuff and we say we come to win not to put on a show . But never had a chance .

The steering is too direct in most cases.
