Thank-you for posting but WAY too much talking with no real demonstration of the tie down itself.... (a 13 minute video for a simple tie down instruction?)

Hey, I don’t remember if I covered it in the video or not but I’ll just explain it because it’s super easy. Turn the bike on without starting the engine at all and then turn it off right after. Then hold down both turn signals at the same time and on the screen it should come up saying T sport mode. To get out of that mowed you just start the bike with the key fob present and it automatically kicks out. Hope that helps!

Hi, I’m about to trailer a sport bike and picked up some regular ratchet straps, how would you recommend I use them for the front tie down? I ask because it looks like the straps you used don’t have the metal hooks that come with “regular” ratchet straps. Thanks!
@RidinDad
20 күн бұрын
You can do what I just did with the hooks also instead of looping it around, but if you have very skinny ratchet straps like the typical straps you buy for a few bucks at the store then I would not recommend doing it with those because they are just too flimsy. You can do the old-school train of thought. It’s just going to not be great, but you can only use what your straps are capable of doing.
there is a unspoken rule in the trucking industry { you can under secure a load but you can never over secure a load } I would use a few more going back and at least one around the front tire going foward don`t try to use the least amount of straps but instead use a few extra straps for redundancy in case one comes loose or breakes the others will hold it
@RidinDad
Жыл бұрын
There’s no reason these straps would ever come loose though. These tank straps don’t even stretch at all. That’s why they’re so expensive and they work so well. No need for redundancy. They have a super high tensile strength as well
What keeps it from rocking forward and backward if the straps are straight out from the fork tubes?
@RidinDad
7 ай бұрын
If they are tight enough it will barely move forward to back. Maybe an inch. Also keep it in gear. If you’re tight on space and can’t afford an inch of movement strap down the rear tire
Brother, strapping very low(at base) of fork arms and stretching outwords with hard force, doesn't it bend the forks out words ? I mean, putting the entire motorcycle weight on just edges of fork arms will not going to make fork arms disalign?? Please share you thoughts
@RidinDad
3 ай бұрын
Nope. I’m not the first one to do this method. I’ve used it on baggers too. This has been tested and is proven to be the best method to strap bikes down. Doesn’t matter the weight. Just need good straps like the ones I used in this video
@16faheemkhan

@RidinDad CAA towing guy strapped my zx10r 2023 from Axle/Fork/wheel joint area with force pulling outwords. Starping through that points will it bend/damage the fork arms? or you would say that fine cause axle bolt keeps the axle in place tightly without allowing forks to bend outwords. I red so many forms it says its bad to strap that low. Whats your thoughts
@RidinDad

I just gave you my thoughts. I e traveled thousands of miles with multiple bikes strapped this way. I know several company’s who sell and buy bikes and strap this way. I will continue to do it and I have no fear of strapping this way.
Seems like a lot of people are telling you that you talk too much and you don't like the feedback...welcome to the internet...anyway, I won't be as rude as some of the others but I do agree you sort of rambled on at times. Just trying to give constructive feedback...I don't need a snarky reply, but if you must feel free. Anyway, I'll be trying to trailer a bike hopefully soon and this did at least give some helpful pointers, so thanks at least for that much....

Well, I showed it in this video. If you were genuinely wanting to see more, you could have sent me a message on Instagram where I could’ve sent you pictures or had a good conversation with you about it if you wanted or commented on this saying that you really are confused about the set up, and if there was any other way, I could show you more in depth about the points of attachment. What you said was weak visuals, which is a rude comment followed by several dots. No part of that makes me think that you genuinely care to see better visuals.

@@RidinDad thank you sir but .. I think that your visuals worked for you because you “ knew what you meant”… so ?.. I will be clearer. I would like to had a better view of how the straps wrap around the front forks… the “ head on from the front” perspective didn’t give me what I was hoping for. …all the talking….. all in needed was… hey guys ..I’m panning , close up, to show the strap from the front fork to tie down point on the van…. And … here is the same connection one the rear of the bike , and then moving out to the termination connecting at the van. Thanks for the help… looking forward to the 2.0

At 5:03… great start but I would have liked to see that same shot from the diagonal/ side so that I could have seen how / where the straps actually wrap around the tube. Similar comment for the rear strap connection to the bike. Also “ from the lowest point on the fork”…:does appear to be working for you but the fork has a greater leverage advantage that close to the pivot point ( the floor) ..Your use of high end straps ( not the cheap kind) is important advice but if there is another place possible higher up/ farther from the floor, the straps would sustain less tension stress while holding the bike more rigidly. Others have mentioned the negatives of strapping down from the triple tree as when the bikes shocks compress, the too of the bike will come down possible loosening the straps too much ( if only for the short moment … so connecting to the “ non sprung portion” of the frame is more stable.. Certainly your method works for you… Thx

@@RidinDad meant, you drone on dude. I may not make videos but I’ve addressed audiences of hundreds and even thousands MANY times over a 40 year career and often for 2+ hours giving presentations. Make a salient point every 3 minutes or less, less is better. State the point, make the point, then show how you made the point, then on to the next pertinent point. Summation of the collective points supports the premise of the discussion or presentation. Did you EVER discuss suspension compression? Pressure on the seals? Anyway, take the criticism and move on… you’ll make better vids if you take the critiques.
