Great automated shades. I wonder if Lutron would replace the shades if the the measurement was off for most customers. Does the shade automation work with SmartThings?

Yes they would. Check the shade will fit as soon as it arrives and if there is any issue reach out to them. And you can connect your Lutron account to SmartThings to control all your different devices.
Did you wish you had gotten a double blind. So that way you could only open the half that has the handle so you could open it?

I thought about it but didn't want to have a gap between them. We now have this shadw just close later than all the others and it hasn't been an issue.
My only question is why not use curtains in doors? I would never have the patience to wait for the shade to open when I want to go out and then closing it every time is also such a hassle.

That is a great question. We really wanted a cohesive look between all the windows. I also wanted to have all the window coverings integrated into the same smart home system. The smart curtains I have used before took constant care to keep them up and running. We have the shades open during the day and so it has never been a problem to wait for them to open to use the door.
What if you have a handle that sticks out further that the blind would get hung up on?

If it is smooth like mine it shouldn't be an issue but if it is something it could get stuck on, you may consider outside mount. Let me know if you need any specific dimensions .
I have the same type of door, I wanted to go with a split shade but they only make that style in a blind, those came to just over $1,500 so I need to look elsewhere.
