I am a fellow perfectionist, and a vanilla lover, found myself to be actually picky about perfumes, your video might be the only video I have ever needed on fragrances! you included my favorites (either I own them, or on my wishlist/I liked but cannot justify the purchase), I never subscribed so quickly in my life before! well done video!! I've been a vanilla lover since the early 90's, and am SO happy to see the range of great vanilla scents on the market today! You've listed a few here I haven't tried yet, so thank you for the recommendations, Anne. Orchidee Vanille would also have to be on my list...it's so warm, creamy and beautiful!

Eau Duelle ist so good! I wonder if it weren't as expensive if you actually bought it in France. As of right now, it's still on my wishlist

I think Initio’s psychedelic love has the best vanilla dry down when sprayed on skin! It lingers for hours and makes me smell my skin all the time and feel so happy!

Great video! I'm a guy who loves vanilla fragrances both on me and on my wife. I bought my wife Kayali Vanilla 28 and love it on her. She likes it but prefers a vanilla along the lines of Victoria's Secrets bare vanilla body spray. So, I might get her a more straightforward vanilla like Guerlain or maybe something more gourmand-ish like Imaginary Authors.

I totally agree with you about the 'sunscreeny' scents - Not for me either. But, I was shocked when I smelled Utopia Vanilla Coco - It is such an approachable 'summer/warm weather' scent! I have searched forever for a coconutty fragrance that doesn't go sunscreen - Kayali nailed it with that one! I love every single fragrance you spoke about and I feel vanilla has come a long way since the days of Lou Lou and Vanilla Fields...Great Video! xoxo

I just bought black tie when I went to Japan. It’s so good! I have yet to try loubirouge but it sounds amazing! I’m in such a cardamom kick right now so I need more cardamom fragrances to try. 🥰 I have spiriteuse double vanille, babycat and eau duelle edp on my current fragrance wishlist. 🥺 so hopefully I’ll get to add those to my collection sometime soon.

I truly enjoyed your video because I have M. Micallef Note Vanille, Diptyque's Eau Duelle, Kay Ali's Vanilla 28, I also have M Micallef's Mon Parfums Cristal and I adore them. I am contemplating getting Commodity's Gold Expressive for myself for Christmas, I have tried Spiritueuse Double Vanille(but haven't committed to a full bottle as yet)and I love it, it is so calming and encompassing, when I spray it on I'm not concerned about if your smelling it as long as I get whiffs of it throughout my wear I am euphoric. You do have me intrigued with Céline's Black tie(I am also curious about St Germaine Des Pres from Céline) and YSL's Babycats.

Fragrantica is an amazing resource to research perfumes! It lists notes, people can vote on how they feel about specific scents, what season it best suits, you can rank longevity and sillage, read/write reviews, etc. In terms of learning how to pick up on notes, the more you smell and test, the better you'll get at it! You can also get essential oils or the raw ingredients to familiarize yourself with the notes :)

I get a lot of suede in Silky woods. I blind bought it and was a bit disappointed because the leather is very predominant on me…. The vanilla is not front and center on me in that one. That is why I now always sample before buying since each scent smells different on each person and our noses interpret each perfume differently.

I must be the only person who gets the incredibly chemical note in the dry down of Vanilla 28. I don't understand how it makes it on those top vanilla lists. It's not bad but there are better smell-alikes like Vanilla Woods or Mercedes Club Black. Thanks for sharing.

Commodity Gold is amazing and last all day on me!!!!! ❤😊 I also love Dyptique Eau Duelle! I bought that based off your recommendation, love the chill earthy, woody, vanilla vibe! Forrest fairy is 100% accurate!

Happy Holidays! ❤️ I have! Unfortunately, I found the dominant note of sugared patchouli to not work for me. The mix of the loud earthy note of patchouli with syrupy sugar rubs me the wrong way :(

I was also introduced to Tom Ford's Metallique, its nice but more fresh than Vanilla to me.

Bae you were spot on with Note Vanille. I smell like a snack.. wanted to eat myself up with a spoon. Have mercy.

Have you tried vanilla love by Jimmy Choo seduction line. It’s amazing. It’s not really talked about much and unsure why. You can’t seem to find proper note breakdown anywhere online but definitely more going on than what fragrantica tell you.

I haven’t tried yet R&V neroli but I love Granada from Memo, that’s my fav orange blossom ATM. Have you tried it? Loved the video BTW I have Eau Duelle and Babycat on my wishlist and I’m dying to try EBK 🥰

Thanks for the recs, I love vanilla fragrances, both straightforward and complex. Just a note--it seems like M. Micallef Note Vanillee has been reformulated :[ The one in the OG bottle with a black cap that you have is much more boozy and dense. The one in the current bottle with a gold cap is very simple and light.

What do you think of Mercedes Benz club black.. definitely an addicting unisex vanilla/ benzoin. Not a lot of women would buy it based on the bottle and brand but its worth 3x its cost and better than kayali 28. Absolute aphrodisiac thoughts and sultan?

I have 3 bottles of Whiff of Waffle Cone..1 empty, 2 backups! Spirituese Double Vanille is my all time favorite, then Kayali Vanilla, then Gourmande Escapade

Indeed, Silky Woods is a vanilla scent out of this world, so beautiful...Vanille Fatale by Tom Ford is a must have in anyone's collection in my opinion, it's a sexy and dark vanilla, a huge compliment getter that lasts forever in my skin. I cannot live without Eau Duelle EDP and Commodity Milk +. Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olfativo is a better option for BabyCat, I find it sweater and it's less expensive. Vanilla 28 is pretty but does not last or project which is a meh for me, I prefer Tangier Vanille by Aerin. I love, love Clive Christian X for women.

I want Babycat soooo bad! It’s frustrating to me that they won’t release it in the states. I love Eau Duelle, but it reminds me of VanCleef &Arpela Vanilla Orchidee…i need to do a side by side…if they’re too similar, I can’t justify Eau Duelle, and I definitely need Silky Woods in my life.

I don't know why they don't!! They have a huge market for it! Ohh I find them so different personally! Eau Duelle is incredibly aromatic and I don't get that from Orchidee Vanille, more so a chocolate, vanilla, floral :)
