I just ordered this adapter and after watching this video i feel alot more confident using it thanks for the tips
Just what people need. Review and recommendations on tech that's not to flashy but gets the everyday job done and decent budget wise. Thanks!
Mr. Carey at your recommendation I purchased the usb adapter and It preforms above all of my expectations every thing you said about this device is true for all of those who see this video this is the one to get without reservation. This the second product recommendation that I purchase because of your approval of the product AND i HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPPOINTED. KUDOS.
Worked for me. Went from 23 mgs to 240 megs on my pc. Big thanks to you. I do believe my windows 10 internal adapter was to old to work on the new Router.
I bought a Techkey USB Bluetooth 5.0 Dongle and the only problem I had was finding the Drivers because the Seller had the Link hidden Way way down in the Description. However my Techkey Bluetooth 5.0 Dongle has Never failed me and has always worked perfectly. Thanks for sharing #CareyHolzman and as always keep up the Great Work. 😉
Why pay more for a really marginally better performance? Thank you Carey for your recommendation!
I like this change of direction.
I have two of these wifi adapters. They work flawlessly and are a great value for the price!
I agree with you Carey the average user is not represented in the tech market.
I have an ASUS wifi dongle without an antennae and it works great. I bought a new router to replace my 8 year old router What an amazing difference.
There you go! You said you'd do this video and you did. Fantastic.💯
THANK YOU! I ordered this immediately after watching. I am so happy with it and I can’t believe the price. There was a coupon on Amazon to clip. My son is able to use it for gaming! The ping and download/upload speeds are comparable to the 200 ft. Ethernet cable going across the house. Now I can ditch it! Thank you Carey!
A few years ago, I researched and learned that this one was a very good choice. I got one of them, but it was dead after, may be a year. Sure, I didn't go bankrupt, but it doesn't make this device, the best Wi-Fi adapter out there. At the same time, my wife went to a shop and asked for an adapter, and she got a Linksys, and paid some 20 dollars more than me. That Linksys works perfectly, after may be three years.
I bought one of these about 6 months ago and it works great.
Thanks Cory, I tried to get a wireless adapter your showing, but Amazon was out, so I got TP-link Archer T3U Plus for 23 dollars , and it works great! The antenna is made on and swivels. Thanks for doing these videos.
Thanks for the recommendation. I got this adapter and plugged it into my budget Dell laptop that does not have 5G wifi - it doubled my wifi speed. Still waiting for my free USB thumb drive coming from Hong Kong. Just got my free USB thumb drive today - a 128 GB EAGET stick... that after a minute or so DIED on me, after doing a speed test on it. I'm glad the USB wifi adapter is still working.
Fantastic find. I've been in need of something like this and was struggling to make a decision on it. This solved that problem for under $20. Thank you.
I got one of these from another company off amazon. I got the same driver disk. So far it has been pretty good like an ethernet cable almost.
Just clicked on your link and purchased it. Thanks for all you do for our community!
I love the introductory theme.
Great video ,I've been using that adapter since September when we moved and it has worked wonderfully. Thanks for the video letting others know about it.
Ordered one of these USB WiFi adapters for a Lenovo laptop that had a dysfunctional WiFi adapter. This replacement works great so thank you Carey for your video report.
Been using one like this for quite some time (at least 8mnths) and have no problems or complaints. I say, "Go for it"

Im looking on getting one. Do I just plug it in and it works? Do I need a PCIe wifi card to run with it? Or just USB?
To get the best of it just don't forget to connect it to the Blue USB port because is 3.0!!!
Good recommendations. I see something constantly that bothers me with wifi. So many people out there complaining about their slow wifi connection using a router that comes from their isp. Its insane how often these people don't know about the 5ghz band and just use the 2.4ghz connection. These isp folks rarely ever explain anything about it. I've had so many people complain that they pay for so and so speed internet but the wifi doesn't come close to the promised speed. The 5ghz connection has changed people's lives lol
Good idea. I got one years ago when I first got into computers. Can be plugged into the computer or a stand with a USB cable extension. Still have it and going to plug it into an emergency radio USB port to see if it works for better reception. Hopefully I don't damage this radio because I just bought it.
I have another brand of the same Realtek RTL8812AU chipset USB 3.0 wifi dongle works very well. Excellent deal for
About 5 years ago, I bought a similar WiFi adapter with the Linksys name. Has been working super deluxe great. I can watch HD videos and at the same time doing big downloads. Simply plug it in to the USB port, and it is easy to set up.
Thanks for the review, im buying it! (using your link ofcourse)
I decided to buy one the other day. For some reason the Panda usb wireless adapter was only getting 20-30 Mbps we are paying for 150 Mbps download speed. So I bought this usb adapter and now I am getting between 150-182 Mbps download speed. So I am going to be buying two more for the other two computers. It's plug and play out of the box with Windows 10 but Linux Mint 20 it's not plug and play. I have to figure out how to install the Linux driver.
Great job love! Definitely a good solution for those that need the wireless solution and whatever PC they are using doesn't have the adaptor OR it's not functional.
How did you know I was looking for one of these thanks buddy I really appreciate it when I built my pc 5 years ago you gave me the knowledge of the correct way to do things a lot of channels on KZread show how to build a pc but only one IMO shows the right way I’ve never had a problem in 5 years and it’s still the fastest computer I’ve ever had by a long shot easily the best investment I’ve ever made anyone thinking about it just do it Nike swoosh thanks again for your knowledge and experience I’ll be forever grateful
I was watching a video about signal adapters and i was 30 seconds in when i saw Carey and i instantly switched video because i know carey will speak facts
Also works with Linux too.. Plug N Play! Easy Peasy !
I bought it at like 3 minutes...and stayed just because :)

I agree wholeheartedly with this comment
My internal Wifi adapter on my HP Dv6 died. The laptop is 10 years old. I'm thinking this may be a solution.
thank you, im a really big tech guy. but ive never handled these before and i wanted to make sure i was able to get the proper device for my father. he recently got a new PC and it does NOT have wireless capabilitys
Thanks man, the built in one on my laptop is messed up and I’m too lazy to hire someone to come and fix it
This thing is amazing! 20-24 pings on hunt show down! Yes buy it
I just ordered one from your link. I have an old XP machine that I use with a CNC router and I like the idea that I can plug this into the computer only when I need to transfer files. Update: the WiFi adapter arrived and installing it on my XP machine went well. The only issues I had was getting the network settings for the LAN to work like I wanted, I didn't have SMB enabled on one of my Windows 10 machines.
thanks for the recommendation Carey
Thanks Carey, I just looked at your video and got one. It works great and I hope you still get that small commission. ps I have been using your great ideas and products in any pc upgrades I make. (for myself and friends only not for taking any money from them) ;)
Thank you dear Carey ❤️👍
I had a nice 1 watt 9db one I kept in my laptop bag. Used to sit at a park across the street from a library and used their WiFi years ago.
Great Video Carey!!! Always enjoy your content!
The Achilles' heel of off-brand Wi-Fi adapters is often driver support. As long as the chipset in the adapter is well-supported, the adapter should provide respectable performance. Sometimes you have to find out what chipset is used in the adapter and use the chipset manufacturer's drive instead of the driver provided by the company whose name is on the box or the default Windows 10 driver. As the default driver for this adapter provides adequate performance out of the box, this seems to be a good solution.
Man I love your channel! My wife has the Lenovo G50 and right or wrong, after watching your video, I've ordered the Samsung SSD. I say right or wrong, because it's not the i5 or one of those, it's AMD 8 and I heard you say you wouldn't bother with it. We'll see. She is not looking for latest and greatest. She just likes to get in, do some word docs occasionally, watch her crochet zooms LOL. On the other hand, I have a Yoga something or other I bought about a year ago, 16g ram, 1tb ssd etc. What I noticed is my speeds are 500mbps however hers are 30 or so. Even when side by side. I'm interested to see if it's the wifi card that's the problem
This guy looks down to earth....ALOTTA WIERDOS OUTCHEA NOWADAYS GANG
Your video is amazing. Man! I love your advice. You are very understandable, to the point and pretty honest. Thank you!
can we get a count for how many times he says, "latest and greatest"?
Its nice to see NOT the latest and greatest. Thanks. If you would like to do another video that is not covered by anyone...how to connect an Ethernet enabled device, that is not WIFI, such as a printer, CNC machine, engraver , or laser cutter, to a WIFI network. These do not have the ability to load a driver or enter a password for the local network, so what type of adapter is needed? Thanks again.

If it's an Ethernet device, plug in the Ethernet cable and it'll just work
My laptop is probably 7-8 years old and works great. Occasionally it doesn’t detect Wi-Fi, could this possibly be a solution to that? I was thinking of getting a new PC but I’d rather find a solution for now

If you're not moving it around much, Ethernet is always an option, assuming it has a port. Most older laptops do
Just went to amazon and it is not available and they are not sure when it will be in stock. Sounds like a supply chain issue,. LOL

You are a legend!
Wow Finall got closer to see you "in Person. Been watching you for years!!! Thanks for all the infornation!!!! PS: You remember the "Hard Cards"? Paid over 200.00 for my first one and it was only about 50mg!
Going to get it now, probably don't need it right now but I like to be prepare just in case, and the price is right. Thanks.
Hi Carey I like all your videos and reviews. I have a question what do you think of wifii extenders and waht are the best ones out there. Maybe you could do a review on some.. Thanks
Thanks. This is better, than the one I was going to buy and cheaper. I also noticed the netgear a6100 I was going to buy doesnt support linux. The one you recommend does. Ill buy it. Thanks you for making this video
Thanks so nuch for all your wonderful videos. Practiclal and full of useful/real world technical knowledge. I noticed that some websites have affiliate links to Amazon USA and Amazon UK. If it's not too dificult or impractical for you to do, I feel that it might provide a little more compensation for all your generous time and effort. Be well.
Thank you for your awesome video! I didn't know wifi adapters existed and I wish I would've known sooner. My brother loaned me his 4-5 year old Lenovo gaming laptop and that laptop doesn't have access to 5ghz internet speed can only use 2.5ghz. The speeds have been so bad, I'm hoping the wifi adapter will allow me to have faster speeds for watching live streams and video chat. Been trying to find brands that are good but seeing all the bad reviews on almost every brand of adapters have made it hard for me to buy one.
Great video Carey. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video Carey, Thanks!
It was a great video but it's not available in our country 😭
Thank you so much! Using your link to purchase now.
do you have any videos about securing wi-fi and ethernet? I would also like to know about being able to check that is secure from outside hackers.
Great Video
Cool Shirt!
Got one. Thanks for the info.
Thank you Carey for the info.
Very helpful and encourageing . I was doubtful.
would this work to make a cctv dvr wifi, if the router is in another room and can connect hard wire?
This is a pretty cool USB wireless adapter I had it for a long time and it never lost the connection the kids broke it and I tried for another one and it wasn't the same it kept disconnecting I was bummed about it too.
excellent video, thank you
Thanks
Great info! Thanks!

Hello, I have a laptop (Dell 15R 5537) that use to use Windows 8; it is now using Windows 10. Sometimes it drops the connection and has a hard time reconnecting. Also, when I am using the laptop say 40 feet from the router, I start having problems. Will the USB network adapter help? PS. I have already changed the internal network card.

Can anyone tell me how to get an alternative wireless lan adapter for my home theater. It's a Panasonic btt466. I should have a dy-wl5 by Panasonic. What's an alternative? Help me help me please! 😆
@CareyHolzman

There is no alternative. You need to take this up with Panasonic. It's their own design and they are the only ones who can provide it.

I afraid the price of this adapter has risen substantially to $88 Australian. Hard to believe!

Could this replace my wifi antennas that are snapped and broken at the back of my pc
@CareyHolzman

yes
Thank You
question. Is this a performance upgrade over the internal wifi on new laptops? They seem to use to run the antenna around the LED panel but this product will provide a directional antenna. So for a user pushing the distance from the router will this improve the issue?
@paulgray1318
3 жыл бұрын
AS external antenna and also 5dBi gain along with being able to position the antenna independent of laptop then in most cases yes and unless your laptop has multiple antenna for MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) then that maybe better, though again, nice good antenna and for the price you can't go wrong. Could get one, and if don't work in your instance, return it. Though there won't be many laptops out there which will do better and also as the antenna is not fixed, you could always upgrade that later on - so pretty flexible option for the price. Heck, some places would charge you this price and maybe more for just a 5dBi antenna.
Just got it!!
just to clarify, do you get this when your WIFI device in your computer doesn't work or doesn't exist? or do you get this in addition to the device already existing in the computer?

yes

Yes, if the router supports that.
Is this adapter good for receiving through walls and how much distance is allowed? Thank you.

Each environment has unique challenges. Your WiFi router will determine your range far more than your WiFi adapter will. This is an impossible question to answer.

@@CareyHolzman Good thing is the antenna is replaceable. One can buy a better, larger antenna to improve reception if needed.
