11:05 yes this is exactly what I was thinking! Her voice is distinct to me because when she goes lower, her tone is darker and there’s barely any volume. I’m not a specialist so idk if that makes sense but I also find it impressive how quick and swiftly she can shift from the two. Also, I’m not sure if you know but Jin’s (BTS) new single is out ‘The Astronaut’ and the live version is worth listening to! It’s a song co-written by him and Coldplay so the song has Coldplay’s signature pop-rock ish element to it and Chris Martin does a lot of the back vocals too. I’d suggest listening to the mv and live together, the vocals live are amazing!

The girl in the first video is playing a Lava guitar, which is made from carbon, and can be pluged in as well as used as an acoustic guitar. Not selling it, but we got ir a few years ago and it is quite amazing ❤ The people singing are awesome btw!!

Great versions, but I missed Malindas version. It's the most haunting one (and still feels like a nursery rhyme) yet in my opinion.

I’m SO envious of beaandherbizness’ voice I LOVE that like raw texture the sound has and after like 10 years of traditional musical theater/ operatic vocal training my voice just doesn’t do that unless I’m sickly and shouldn’t sing anyways. Always gives me goose bumps

My favorite cover of this song right now is probably from Reinaeirey, it's absolutely amazing and she really pulls it off well

i think its a lava me 2 guitar. it has built in effects that you can add and change and what not. its really cool!

I've never wanted to listen to an ad more. That was kind of soothing.

If anyone wants to hear how this song should have been sung (in my opinion) check out Halocene -Metal cover Unholy The lead female vocalist does a sexy & badass performanceand has an insane vocal range. The drumming is on a whole other level, super complex and original. And the guitarist is absolutely sick and also does back up vocals and screams. They have a full professional production music video and the visuals are great too! Absolutely, all around incredible and I truly stick by my opinion that it is 100% WAYYY better than the original & is how the song was always meant to be 🤘

Wow!…I love this!!! I’ve never heard of Tristan until now,after watching this video, and I will Definitely be watching/listening more!! The knowledge I got from this was mind blowing! I LOVE music and like to think I know a little since I come from a music inclined family…but after watching this I want more!👍🏼😉 the singing was awesome too!!!

The first guitar is from a brand called Lava U. They make ukuleles and guitars that are electric as well as acoustic! They have different buttons that can change pitch, echo, and reverb. And the best part… NO CORDSSSS!

Do some of the mics in the videos have pitch correction? Love the raw, acapella versions - really showcases their vocal abilities!

That harmony pair was amazing.

Honestly most of them couldn't hit the strength of the original vocals. The power behind Sam's voice is what drives the song.. Well, that and the beat. 13:52 is one of the better ones in terms of the raw strength in carry behind it.

I literally could not care less. He's male. "they/them" pronouns are just sad, nonsensical, and narcisisstic as fuck. Not to mention illogical, since the concept of non-binary just creates another binary; and is inherently enforcing gender roles. Lmao

1:46 perfectly illustrates my frustration with this trend. I get it: it’s a style choice. But literally SO MANY WOMEN sing like this now (vocal fry, slurred words, sInGiNg In CuRsIvE), and it’s gone from being a unique thing one or two artists did to everyone and her sister sounding drunk/tired/doped when they sing… and it makes the lyrics diffiicult to understand. I’m a voice coach with 20+ years of experience, and all my girls want to sing like this; it really grinds my gears because these otherwise REALLY talented singers end up sounding like last call on karaoke night.

My all time favorite version of this song is by vidken and gunboikaz, the vocals are so sensual and though it's technically a remix I think that that particular cover is how Unholy should have been sung and I highly recommend listening to it
