How did these two fishing rods do in your back back. How did you pack it? Inside? Outside? Do they have bags to enclose them in? These look like really nice setups.

Keep up the good work corporal I know only a few people that watch doesn't inspire you to do much on here but you do teach those that do watch important information about survival and key techniques to thrive. I support you, keep up the good work.

I've had the Emmrod system for about a decade. Hands down the most versatile out there. Virtually indestructible, they have many different styles and configurations. I've used reels from ultra light to a 4000 series. Fresh and salt water. Panfish to Snook! This year I'm focusing on land a Bull redfish on it!
"Dope?" You learned a new word. *OUTSTANDING!*
I have an Emrod Kayak version for 10 years plus. Friends laugh but it never broke and I caught more fish in boat and shore than most. Use 40lbs higher braided line and you will amaze anyone!
Winner, winner fish for dinner 👍😋
Awesome video! Nothing like fishing a mountain lake. Just doesn't get any more peaceful than that.
For my backpack I use a Walmart ice fishing pole , works well ... great for bass, pike , trout
I like the fact that you're very thorough in all your videos.. great job .. keep on keeping on !
Good vid and comparison. For years, I used an old fashioned CB antenna as a backpacking fishing rod. The spring provided just the right "give" and the long base was simple to tape a reel on. I removed the end eye from an older broken rod and used it on the tip of the antenna. It made a good, light, very packable rod and reel. I caught many fish on that ultralight rig -- including an 5 lb. catfish.
I'm surprised you didn't show how the Emmrod is broken down and stored. I use to sell them and that was one of the neat tricks to show for getting a sale. People didn't think the rod tip came out. Twist, pull out, reverse tip and it slides on making it even smaller in length to fit inside a backpack or even your pants pocket depending on its size. Expensive, yes. However it's one of those things you'll be glad you spent the extra money on.
I received an Emmrod several years ago as a gift from my wife, it quickly became my favorite fishing rod to take everywhere from fresh water to salt water fishing and it is very high quality. Thank you again for an excellent video!
I really like how in depth your reviews are. And as well that you have all the great gear on your site! Thank you for making these vids they make sure by the end of the video if your paying attention you can make sh*t happen....very informative. Cheers,Jeremy.
Too sweet! You got some pretty ones! That looked like a great spot to lay back and enjoy. Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!
It is January and 12F. This video made me dream of warmer times and wild fishing. Thanks
Man you got the life to live in the great outdoors.
I’ve been using the emmrod for about 2 years, I paired it up with the zebco 33. Bomb proof great video
Hard to beat those Super-Dupers! Been doing the job for me on trout for about 55 years! Now to saute in a little butter, yum!
As always, very informative and I have always loved watching your videos. Great reviews Kelly
Nice! Didn't know these even existed. I mostly fish in salt water. This was great. Thanks for the video.
Finally comfortable casting the pocket combo for distance.. love the pole
My grandfather told me god rest his soul, when i was about 12 years old. ( sitting and wishing does not improve your fate, god provides the fishys but you gota dig your own bait. Also (when nothing else works. a worm always will.) First is you gota work for things in life and second, if all tackle in your box doesn't work a real worm does haha. Thanks for another great video !
Great video, very informative! Thank you for your service!
Thanks for the knowledge corporal
Let me just say that I respect and appreciate your service in the military thank you. I have watched a couple of your videos where you are discussing the problems you are having with KZread. I had always watched what I was interested, wanting to learn, in and not what was entertaining. That is how I came to subscribe to your channel. I feel you are one of the best teachers on KZread, and I learn easily from you. After listening to you talk about KZread supporting some channels more then others I was shocked at myself for being so gullible. I started paying attention to how many commercials were posted on the videos that I watch, and how many times I see certain videos come up on KZread posts. I have always wondered how some channels have 100,000 views when just posted and others have a few. Everything I heard you say was in fact correct. Therefore I have decided to support your channel more ie entertainment type videos. I am a retired nurse starting to prep and bushcraft. Even though I have camped my entire life. I would really like to learn more about fishing. Thanks again. 👍🏻
Excellent gear review, beautiful scenery and good to see you out enjoying the good life.
Fantastic reviews. Thank you. I grew up in Colorado. Been a long time since I’ve been trout fishing.

Two nice mini poles. That scenery was beautiful. I've been to AZ but I want to go more north and see some stuff with trees. Great review.
Love it!! Been looking at rods for backpacking. Thank you. Love your channel.
These things are coming one in leaps and bounds. Nice to see quality kit beginning to appear
I have had the Emmrod fishing pole and reel for many years! Good little rod and does not take up too much space!

Man, that Super Duper was hammering them! Great review of two cool products, thanks!
You always look like you are having a good time on your videos. Thanks for another great gear video.
When will you get to the Sierras?
Solid video. Great content for the community. Valuable review
Great demo and drills Corp. Nice looking kit, the second unit was funky as.
THIS is the rod I was looking for! Emmrod!
Awesome Corporal thanks for sharing!!
The first combo is well worth it!
Such a beautiful place to be. Add a pole and it's heaven. Thank you
I have a couple Emmrods. They are particularly good for fishing from a canoe when there are a lot of overhanging trees. There is actually a "slingshot" technique you can use to shoot your lure in low. I also use a Ronco Pocket Fisherman just for laughs - it's actually pretty decent.

Thank u for the review! I just got an emmrod for my back pack
Nice rods Cpl. Kelly thanks for the video
Some beautiful trout you pulled from those waters with those poles.
That's a pretty pristine picture of the mountains.
First of all; I am absolutely thrilled that you used a Super-Duper as a lure. I was born in 1964, and haven't heard that name in decades. Bravo! Secondly: I like the (guessing at the spelling) M-Rod design, because you have a choice of rod strength. You're right about the cost versus options evaluation. One of my all time favorites is a solid pan-sized rainbow. However, if I can swap the rig out to land a decent Steelhead, I'm all in. Especially, for an ultralight rig. P.S. Nice camera work. Carry on ...
I've had an Emmrod Original for over 6 years. Sturdy piece of kit that never disappoints. I use a Cabela's, 10:1 ratio spin caster with Spiyderwire 6lbs test. Bomb proof. Good video.
Didn't know you did a review on these .just got a emmrod great pole .and like you said great backcountry rod
I have had the Emmrod for a few years, and LOVE it. However, I recommend the spin-cast version. Spinning reels are nicer, but when jamming in a backpack, the bail can get bent or broken. So you either need to keep the reel in a case of some kind, or just get a more sturdy reel. The spincast version allows for the reel handle to be easily removed, and then the whole thing goes into a pack without worry of breaking. Also, Diawa makes the "Mini-Spin." The rod breaks down into five pieces, and the whole thing (including reel) goes into a small plastic case. It is nicer to fish with, but takes more effort to put together or take apart.
Ahaha Crazy rod !! Ultralight yes! Soludos from Brazil🌲🎣🎥
I'm not going to run right out and buy one of these, but it is good to have the info and insight you provide. I will suggest it to other 'packers who could appreciate this product in their adventures. Thank you for what you do, CPL. Keep up the good work 👍🍻
Both look like nice piece of gear. That's for sharing
Great vid, definitely on my list of things I want to pick up for my kit. I haul fly rods and handline set up in my ATV bag now. With the right assortment of bait the options are limit li ess on what you can go after.
Great video thanks 👍
Good stuff. I picked up a telescopic Shakespeare rod around 5 years ago for cheap, weighs nearly nothing.Collapses to about 6" and well worth it.The all metal Rod has been around a long time, did not know that they made them that size.Have a full sized closed face from the 50s.As always,Thank's for sharing brother!
Thanks for just getting me totally excited. I fly out next week to Denver. Then spending the next week and half exploring the mountains, up into WY and Medicine Bow NF. Skipping the fishing and focusing on small game hunting.
Great review! Thanks!!!
I love the video as always I love the fishing videos . I wanted to add man that area is good to go it looks amazing out there , I keep you in my prayers that soon you will be blessed with a chance to have a spot like that or better to run your own classes !!!
Thanks for the video! I also spend time in the Rockies, i bought a "Ugly stick" combo for $70, it works well also. 3 piece rod and spinning reel, with a nice carry bag. That's small enough to fit in a big backpack, or lash it...
Outstanding gear review brother. Keep it up!
The beard is better then the soul patch.
2 cool, i must get 2 of these. ty sir 4 this video
My favorite rod is the Eagle Claw Pack Rod. It comes in it's own aluminum tube with a screw on cap and a sock to put all the rod parts in. The great part about the Eagle Claw rod is that with the bottom piece, you can put it on either way. One way is for a fly fishing reel, the other way I use a bait casting reel. Spinning reels don't work well at all as all the eyelets are too small for the loops the spinning reels make coming off the reell spool when casting. I think I've go 5 of those Eagle clay rod kits now. I find them at yard sale once in a while. I see the aluminum tube first, pick it up and shake it a little which tells me whether or not the 4 rod pieces are in there. If I hear that lovely sound, I take he parts out and check out the eyelets. Eyelets can be replaced fairly easily. Check the rod itself and see if there are any cracks. I've picked these up for $5-20. Walk away with a big smile on my face. I keep one with each vehicle and also with my CamelBak Muleso it's always with me when I'm going for a hike.
Wish there were two LIKE BUTTONS. Liked seeing those rods in action that much! SWEET video!
Thanks for sharing, they look like great options, atb 👍
Thank you for a nother awesome viedo keep up the awesome job
Definitely got to have one of those, been lookin for a small setup like that!!!
Thanks bro I've been looking for some backpack Fishing Poles
Wetting your hands, before you hold your catch, greatly improves the fish's chances for survival, should you decide to throw it back.

I cant believe people still think those myths are true lol. Any fish that has died after being released will not have been from handling the fish... Commercial fisheries, fisherman and pet stores have been doing it years. It does not harm the fish. It's a myth.
@unprofor9394

@@lackofdubs5975It’s not a myth. The slimy skin of a trout, will get hurt, if You don’t get wet hands. Other fish’s shelled skin, are more robust.
stunning spot corp.... interesting rods mate.... cheers
Great video, myself I have done research into the Emmrod setup, and though yes it is more expensive but is more versatile in with what you catch. They say they can catch up to 25 lb fish on the heavy action rod. That system along with appropriate reels and line weights, and of course a variety of tackle, you could have a setup that will bring in everything from the smallest bluegill to the biggest largemouth Bass. That versatility makes Emmrod a winner.

I have an Emrod with 2 different attachments and 2 reels, catch everything from Rock Cod, Coral Trout and anything else on the reef. Good fishing in North Queensland.
Awesome video , you would be awesome to hang with and go fishing . Love your attitude and demeanor. Love both the pole but love the first one better to compact ability. But both look nice. thx for sharing can't wait till the next video. Just got back from a 3 day camping trip a few days ago. I used the ridgeline system i learned from you , was amazing for both mine and the wife's ridge lines for our tarps over the hammocks . Slept in tents but relaxed in the hammocks . Thx for all you do.
Awesome day fishing!
Some good looking territory there CC nice poles too
Been looking at the Emmrod for a while. Think you sold me on it. Thanks for another great video.
Looks like I’ll be buy a new light weight fishing pole 🎣 here very soon. Another great video 🍻🔝
Those little steinhausers are pretty nice. I have the compact one that you have in the video and I have their full size one with the extending handle at the bottom as well. Caught a decent sized pike on the full size one, I was pretty impressed
Another good informative video, nice.
Another amazing video brother!!
Those are some nice trout!
Great video. Left me longing to head off to the trout stream!
Great size for backpacking.Love the wire spring rod If I was backpacking I would probably consider purchasing. Sure beats my Eagle Claw 4 piece take down spin/fly outfit. I lone my Fenwick ultralight spin rods (one piece and two piece) using a variety of mini spinning reels (50+ y/o Mitchell 308, a Penn, and an Okuma)and my cortland 4 weight fly rod.
Very nice! Great view.
Sweet rigs. I like the second one best.
Super-Duper video CC!
I would like to get the second fishing rod that you reviewed in the video and was wondering if it could take a beating such as real in a large to medium sized bass or fully grown blue gill without braking and would you recommend it for back pack fishing?
Great video can't wait to get one! I've been looking for a great micro set up. Do you think it would fit in a 3 or 4 inch pvc pipe? Oh and you cracked me up when you said that the first rod extended to 30 feet.
Sweet. Looks like the m-rod would make a good setup for ice as well.
