Looks like it was a great trip, I would consider switching to this seat just to give more room to everyone, 8lbs is crazy light!

It’s a really great product. The only other downside I see to it is that it sits much lower than a standard chair, so if your kid wants to look out, that may be an issue. If you want a slick and steam lined rear seat - this is what you want.

Thanks for this! I haven't found ANY thing on safety for kids with hypotonia, and other disabilities ive been specifically worried about. Recently the ECU system fried in my pilot within the 15-20 min i was stuck in a popular friday rush hour traffic alow spot on a back road (eeek what my car breaking down did to traffic 😬) and this is no joke after leaving auto zome to have the battery tested, as rhe day before traveling back from and out if state appt with one of my son's doctors I had i noticed it idled odd for a bit while I sat still until I'd been driving for a second then almost home the battery light flashed. Anyway it's needless to say I definitely need a car seat for the time being That is Uber friendly and medical transport friendly, I can not be taking his wheelchair and everything else with me on top of a heavy bulky car seat, so until I decide what and how to get another vehicle I can fit his equipment in that is also gas efficient I'll be stuck with medical transport, he can't walk and his wheel chair isn't a drive safe chair. So I've desperately been looking for something that I can manage until back into my own vehicle where his safe larger one can stay as we go in and out of appointments and places! Phew that was a lot huh?! But seriously you have no idea how excited and thankful I am to have come across your review!

I LOVE that this was helpful. This car seat does put them in a bit more of an upright position, so children like ours with hypotonia, will be working harder (which can can good), but also isn't an ideal "sleeping" car seat depending on their neck strength - so be to sure to test it out. Their customer services is great and they've been very supportive. Hope your get into a new/fixed car soon.

Given so many of our wagons are family haulers, I do appreciate this kind of content and would be glad to see more! We’ve found the combination of one of the lightest Britax convertible seats (now called the Allegiance, and much more manageable than the one in the video) plus the Britax cart has been a great travel solution for our family. It’s nowhere near as portable as the Pico, but it’s much less expensive, has excellent safety scores so is used not just when traveling, can be rear facing, is comfortable for naps, and works like a stroller to shuttle and contain our kid through the airport.

From what I looked up, NHTSA approvals require a 30mph front crash test for cars. This seat is NHSTA approved.

Was your son comfortable in it?

I think so. Given his low muscle tone, it’s not the best for sleeping. But for my daughter it works great for all uses.
