@@TA-mb8ip yeah but the distance graphic isn’t consistent thats what I’m saying. Each time the graphic is added it’ll be slightly off as there’s no way to accurately add it when in editing. So while it looked like it dropped in the same spot relative to the graphic. The graphic wasn’t in the same place resulting in curries kick appearing the same but measuring further.

The ball touched the water at 60, even though it bounced to 65, it’s where it first lands

draper robbed can clearly tell his kick landed in the middle of the 60-70 mark, curnows first kick landend bang on near the 60, his 2nd kick landend where drapers first one was lol

Well we've had a few from the afl play in the nfl, including sav rocca, Ben Graham, but they were back when massive kickers were not a rarity though

Hehe. Cool pal. I was runner up one year in the Sunkick, early 80's. I used to lob 'em 65+ routinely but the pressure on the day got to me and 55+ was my effort.

Kicking from an elevated platform and they could barely kick over 60 metres. In 1970 my distance was 60 metres with a drop kick and I was not a long kick. In 1968 Graham Ramshaw from Perth Football Club won a national kicking competition with a distance of 88 yards (80 metres), and I've seen him and others kick further.

That was into a breeze mate, I remember kicking a few snags from about 50 in the 80's. I remember launching one at training from 50 that went about 5 metres passed the goals. I am only 5 ft 7 so I did ok for a rover.

@@iankearns774 5 foot 7 inch Barry Cable could kick a ball over 70 metres. In 1971 5 foot 10 inch Colin Tully kicked a goal from the wing of the MCG. It was estimated the ball travelled 107 yards (98 metres). Richmond and Carlton centreman Billy Barrett regularly kicked the ball 80 metres. In 1976 ruckman Dean Herbert was awarded a free kick from the centre bounce down. The ball travelled about 85 metres to go through the goal on the full.

@@kenchristie9214 I think you have a problem with distances mate, Blights goal in 1976 against the Blues was about 75 m. Barry Cable 70 m, no fucking chance but he was beautiful stab pass.Pulling out 80 and 90 m kicks is fantasy land stuff. 60 m with a drop kick is also fantasy land. Would love to buy land off you as I would get great value for my money.

@@iankearns774 It is you who has a problem judging disances. Princess Oval is 157 metres from goal to goal. That means the centre circle is 77.5 metres from the goals. Blight was in front of the centre square line when he kicked the ball. That line is 52.5 metres from goal Adding the angle he was on, he would have been less than 55 metres from goal. Still it was a great kick. The previous genuine long kicks in the last 30 years are Darren Bennett, Ben Graham, Saverio Rocca ( all NFL players) and Dustin Fletcher. As for Barry Cable, every fucking chance he can kick 70 metres. Just ask anyone who watched him play.

@@kenchristie9214 I believe princess park’s length was extended slightly when they built the legends stand after that Blight goal. I’d estimate he kicked that goal from 52-53m. Maybe it traveled a further 10m after it went through.

Some ugly torps, imagine if they spun right, easy 70 meters with proper torps but modern AFL is drop punts only.

These kicks aren’t very impressive. When I was 3 years old I could kick a torp 100+ metres while simultaneously sucking on a juice carton
