Thanks for this, I’m an independant contractor with Milwaukee stuff, recently getting into tree work now so Iv been wanting the Milwaukee but it’s just not quite enough I don’t think, I think a built 200 series is gonna be the way to go. Have heard good things about the new echo and husky top handles tho. So still searching, but good comparison vid man

Thanks for that feedback! Milwaukee makes great stuff. I think that saw is a great first for them in the market but there are other better options still. thanks for tuning in! have a good one.

I really like my Echo 355t, didn’t even make the “cut” for this video🤣 it is a good saw in my humble opinion. They all looked good except for the 1st Stihl.

Nice video!! Serious collection of saws! Opinion: lithium batteries are great.....until they're not. Then, they're just expensive. The process to make that type of fuel is drastically more harmful to the earth than is petroleum refinement. Plus, if my gas saw goes down, i can likely fix. Often in the field. If my battery saw goes down, i gotta get to home depot before i can use it or it's replacement again. I'm not hating on electric power or potential benefits.....but i also don't buy all the hype from advertisers, sponsored influencers, governments, etc. I just don't feel like battery power is ready to replace fossil fuel. In most arenas. Anyway, sorry for the rant. I enjoyed the vid! Happy New Year!

I can see keeping a 50cc+ saw as gas,, but top-handles only require the power of a circular saw and can typically last for 1 tree's worth of limbing / topping. No battery can last more than a half-tank of gas in a larger chainsaw. Specifically for top-handles I can see them being developed in parallel with power tools.

Is that T540i the 16,14 or 12? I heard that it runs better on the 12 inch size with the bli200x battery. You mentioned you were using the bli300 which I also heard makes it back heavy in the saw and not balanced. Can you share your thoughts and any info on the handle wrap that you use?

  • @sizemoretreeworks

Running a 14 bar. Saw seems well balanced. Wrap is hockey tape.

Husky t540i the best battery toppy its quick chain speed light and easy to use ,the stihl feels heavier and is slower chain speed and it turns off really fast ,I run the husky t540 for yea the big stuff but most the time it's the battery saw that's hanging around

MSA 220 TC-O is a darn good toip handlke battery saw from Stihl ,I dont climb but do a lot of tree trimming from ladders and prefer it to a gas saw. I think the the top handle saw market is flood with to many choices to be able to really say there is one top handle to rule them all. Ported saws do better but that is only opion for buyers with deep pockets, A cheap top handle with some minor tweaks can be reliable to.

Take the 201 ported saw out of the mix. You can't compare it to any battery operated saw. The Milwaukee showed better then the Husky! You didn't stall the M18 but the Husky stalled a couple times. Take the personal preference out of the mix. There are a couple other videos out there from full time arbourists where M18 kicked the arse out of the Husky. You are right, if you have the battery platform, every brand makes a saw. The batteries are more expensive then the tool.
