Introducing my new Tele Pickups with Bare Knuckle - The Nomads
Check Em Out! www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/...
Nomads: The journey continues.
Rabea Massaad signature Tele set.
“I’ve always loved using Telecaster tones on my recordings. They have an aggressive mid range that just brings that extra bit of gnarliness to heavier guitar tones and they also add wonderful clarity to clean and mid-gain tones.
When designing the Nomads I wanted to create something more controlled and powerful that would cater to my heavier sounds just as much as the ambient and cleaner side of what I do.
The Nomads can get super heavy without any unwanted spikiness, but also respect the original early ‘50s tele tones for all the lower gain chime and spank that I love.
I really couldn’t be happier with these pickups!” Rabea
With an approach to the Telecaster as individual as his playing, Rabea’s Nomads fill a void left by traditional Tele pickups and push forward the boundaries of Tele tones, allowing players to think past the conventional and be inspired to create new music.
Nomads build on the same foundation of Alnico III powered bridge and Alnico V neck coils as the Triptych Strat set to reproduce another dimension in Rabea’s signature range of tones.
The bridge coil is flat magnet profile with a thicker ‘50s style copper-plated steel baseplate and a hot wind of 43 AWG plain enamel wire, designed to deliver a combination of muscular output, plus masses of dynamic headroom. Mids are totally dialled to add the perfect throatiness to complement the depth in the bass and rich attack in the high end.
A special neck coil design allows for superb balance of output with the bridge, whilst delivering both weight behind single notes and a hollow snappy tone, again hand wound with 43 AWG PE.
Signature green and black cloth ‘push back’ hookup is standard and there is a choice of RWRP or stock neck with optional 4 way mod wiring. Rabea’s preference is for a solid nickel silver neck cover, however all neck finish options are available, including custom etches.

Man Rabea. I know you super dig the heavy stuff but IMO you were born to do the clean ambient music. I honestly don't think I have ever heard someone consistently make that kind of music better. Also: The tone you had in this video is EXACTLY what's in my head.

I love the music you make and how it all sounds but it also has really made me happy to see all these pickups you have made with bare knuckle lately. I feel like i never really found the right strat set with the right balance of push and vintage vibe at the same time until you guys came out with your tryptichs and now you have made this set that has that sound that reminds me of my telecaster with the tone on about 6 or 7 where i normally run it but without having to tweak things. it amazes me how similar your tonal preferences are to mine in the single coil realm but its awesome because now I have all these options look at for my own playing and to watch you play on youtube! tldr: these sound awesome, keep making great pickups and great music.

Your guitar playing is so inspiring, I almost cannot finish watching your videos that I need to grab my guitar. Awesome music as always 🤟 I also have a tele and recently swapped the bridge single coil with a DiMarzio Fast Track T. I'm not 100% satisfied with it so I might give theese a try (at least the bridge one) I would have definitely gone for it instead, had it been out in late november last year

It's funny that the headstock of that guitar says Esquire and it was modded to have 2 pickups on it. Sick playing too. I hope to see more videos with that Tele. That middle position sound is heavenly. I do prefer Teles I like the sound of rather than 3 single coils Strats.

I got my first Tele 7 years ago, in my 50´s! Can you imagine! The one thing I do not like about Teles is that ice pick frequency that you get! I swapped the pickups out for some handwound pickups (not Bareknuckles) with a more aggressive tone, higher output and without the ice pick frequencies! The Tele has become my go to guitar! I did consider Bareknuckles but these handwound pickups came along and they were the perfect solution for me BUT, if I havdn´t got these then Bareknuckles were top of my list!
