I was looking for a cake recipe this week and this video came at exactly the right time! I made this recipe as a birthday cake today and it was a massive hit!! I used mascarpone instead of cream cheese and it was to die for. I always love your cake recipes!!!

Okay, so I made this cake for daughter's 1st b'day party last weekend and everyone loved it. got so many compliments. I love how rustic it looks. I added all the berries and it made cake look super colorful as well.

Perfect timing, Tatyana 👍 The best strawberries here come from Wexford and the berry farm I go to is opening on Sunday Also, they sell Tayberry Jam (Cross between a raspberry and blackberry). Don't know if you ever tried it but I'm a huge fan Great recipe for long summer evenings

It's such a delicious cake! You can try using a ziplock bag. Just cut off the tip and use it as a piping bag :)

It's so pretty! :) I recommend making the cake the night before and letting it set in the refrigerator overnight. This way, the cream will be more stable. You should add the strawberries on top the next day. Enjoy!

HI SWEETIE it's me again lol. I didn't touch this one. I made it just like you.and it's very yummy. I love the strawberry puree so good. I could eat this when ever. Goes very well with a nice cup of coffee.. would finish well with a good smoked brisket dinner lol. I love giving my feed back to all your yummy dishes.and adding some awesome tips on something from the smoker. Because you inspire me to do so. I'm so glad your my hero and my mentor. Because with out all of these awesome dishes I would have never been in your kitchen learning how to make the best of everything with you. You'll love all the flavors! Yes, this will work great with all the vegan alternatives. You can try adding a tablespoon of lemon juice to the cake batter, to help activate the baking soda. Enjoy!

It's an incredibly delicious cake! :) I hope everyone loves it! You can make it the day before and refrigerate it overnight; it won't be soggy. Keep it chilled until the last minute and turn the A/C on in the car to keep it from melting.

Good D🍓Y Chef, As soon as I saw the strawberries I knew that they weren't store bought. I get so aggravated with the jumbo Foxy or Driscoll brands when 1/2 the berry is white topped. I had wild strawberries growing around my barn and they are so small but so sweet. I could get as much as a gallon if I got there B4 the birds. I usually made a pie and a cake. This berries you had were perfect . My local Amish markets carry fresh picked in the summer, 2X's the price of commercial but worth it. Good morning! I almost never buy strawberries from the grocery store for that reason! Plus, they're so tasteless! These farm grown berries are the best! I wait all winter for the season to come :) I love wild strawberries! We used to have them on my parent's property growing up. Haven't seen them in forever. Hope you enjoy this cake!

Wild strawberries don't get any bigger than a blueberry, the others are as big as a golf ball. I can't wait for harvest when everything is fresh and local. @@TatyanasEverydayFood Good Day Chef. So nice to hear from you. I drove past the Orchards on Saturday and all the blooms are off and the fruit is growing. Have you ever tried to grow a Peach, Pear or Apple in a bottle.? You find a bloom near the end of the branch and slide a clear bottle over the branch remove all other blooms. It's a little work but fun. Try to secure the branch to another branch. Seal the end of the bottle with tape and the fruit grows in the bottle. When ready pull out branch and cut fruit, fruit will stay in the bottle. Fill with wine of your choice or maybe some 💙💛Vodka. I do like to put fresh sliced Peaches in Burgundy or Chianti. It's a miserable rainy day here in Amish Land, Thanks for bringing some Sunshine 🌞.🙏4✌🍎🍑🍐🌷🌷🌷

Yes, that will work, too. Sometimes whipped cream frostings can go flat, so you'll want to whisk it again before using.

Hi Tatyana! I really love your strawberry shortcake and would like to use your recipe to make a birthday cake for my nephew in 3 weeks... so I hope you see this🤔 I'll be covering the cake with red fondant. I'll be adding a strip of white fondant across the cake and placing the Liverpool football team emblem (made of rice paper) on it, in the middle. A few small footballs will also be added. My brother specifically requested a strawberry shortcake (which I've never made before). So I have a question for you, if I may. Will the cream-filled layers hold the weight of the fondant? Secondly, as I won't be able to crumb coat it with cream, I was thinking of using a nice recipe I found online - white chocolate buttercream under the fondant. I'd appreciate your advice, please🙏

Hi! I'm so glad you enjoyed the cake recipe! That sounds like an incredible idea for his birthday! I would assemble the cake, apply the buttercream on the outside, then allow the cake to chill overnight. Once it's set, then add the fondant. This will allow the cream to set on the inside. You can make your own buttermilk by adding a few tablespoons of lemon juice or white vinegar to whole milk. Let it stand for a few minutes = homemade buttermilk :)
