i was certain that was going to sound like a tin can like the one that came on my miata when i bought it... but that sounds amazing actually! Gotta love working on this platform, very easy and even an engine removal is like nothing compared to most platforms. Good vid, good comparison, thanks for sharing!

How is the drone on the exhaust in the highway

It sounds lovely. The one thing i do notice and not a fan of is the gentle raspyness at lower revs. But it sounds great!

They must've raised the price after several purchases because it is now $270.

@@DArias Yeah I contacted them about 2 months back and they originally slated it for sometime next month but I asked for an update and thats what they said. Pretty unfortunate Ive really been looking forward to purchasing it

FYI for all you 1.8 boys. Just had this circuit werks catback installed on my little brothers 1.8, and yes it will fit fine but the rear subframe brace does need to be removed, as well as cutaway a bit to fit properly. Luckily Circuit Werks is local to us here in Richardson Tx so we were able to pick it up locally :D

is there any way you can explain to us here how you guys cut the subframe and how much cutting and other adjustments were required in order for us to get this exhaust to fit perfectly without any issue? I have a 1996 and I want to buy this for it as the sound is best imo, but I don't know how complicated cutting is going to be and what else might need to be done.

This video sold me on this exhaust. It sounds so good. If you have any free time, could you post a video of it with the camera not in/on the car? Like in a parking lot or something, so I/we can see how it sounds from a distance? Does it get ricey under moderate/heavy acceleration?

Absolutely I can! And yes it sounds pretty good. I mean I wouldn’t say it’s ricey tbh .. this exhaust def makes the Miata sound decent (it’s hard to make a 4cyl sound good lol).. it is a bit loud imo for daily drivinglong distances everyday , but for a fun weekend car or a car you drive every day short distance, it’s perfect!

Just ordered mine, I've been waiting for them to come back in stock since August!! I'm so excited, but they only have 10 in stock of either the polished tip or burnt tip, wonder how fast they'll go.

Bro usually I think miatas sound kind of weird but this one sounds really good actually.. I haven’t heard of this company either are they new with producing a Miata catback? I know a lot of people run the Manzo or the isr exhausts for them

You know that’s a good question I’m not sure... BUT I will say the exhaust doesn’t really get loud till higher rpms anyways it’s very mild down low and it should be smog legal due to the fact it retains the cat and the catback still has a res and muffler

The catback exhaust on their website have been sold out for the last 2 months.. haha I keep checking every day to see if they have them in stock. In the mean time I'll buy the header and continue waiting for the catback exhaust to be available, unless I find another exhaust system that fits the header circuitwerks offer.

Yes man it’s unfortunate. I know a few months back a few people we on the able to get it by emailing them and they threw a few together but someone told me a few days ago that they won’t be back in stock till around the end of the year or possibly early next year. I’m assuming they’re having issues getting material to make them

Yeah I feel this is a bit more tamed with a better tone than the manzo even though they’re a similar setup.. and yes I say they’re out of stock right now a lot of people have been jumping on their exhaust... they should be getting it back soon though! I would email them directly personally (they answer quickly) and have them give you an eta

Do you know if this will fit the flying miata mazdaspeed exhaust kit? I'm trying to get rid of the muffler and this looks promising.

Thanks man! And yes it’s a 1.6.. the drone isn’t horrible I mean it’s def there but it’s to be expected especially due to the fact when on the highways cruising 60-65 you’re over 3k rpms but not terrible especially for a sub $200 stainless catback

Normally this style makes a harsh noise to my ears, but I like this one. So I checked the link only to find out it does not seem they make it for my year which is a 02.

Almost at $400 now,still a good pick or any that sound just as good but for less of the price?

I have been seeing that most people have to cut the subframe to install a aftermarket catback. I am leaning toward an axleback.

@@DArias I just checked my 96 and it doesn't have the subframe connector bar. That's possibly an idea for a future mod though. Only thing I can think is that they put in on in later models.

Have you contacted them directly? Apparently a few guys have told me they’ve been able to get through and get their exhausts made. They’ve been a bit slow due to the virus I assume

It’s def way louder than stock haha and tbh it does have a bit of drone I can’t lie but it’s not terrible. If you ride top down it’s not noticeable at all. Also being this wasn’t my daily it never bothered me.

Did you have to do any type of Modification to the subframe like you do with the Manzo??

Not dumb at all! Soo some people have said it does work and others say they haven’t been able to make it work. I’m not entirely sure the best thing you can do is go and contact the company via ig or email for the proper answer !

Hopefully I can get a reply, but how is the drone with this exhaust? I’ve owned an irs and highway drone was really bad, and I don’t want anything too loud

If I’m not mistaken the catback portion of the 1.6 and 1.8 Miata is the same only difference is the cat and everything before it

Yea soo I tried putting mine on and for some reason my stock car bolts don’t have a head so I can’t take the bolt off, got the nut off but now there’s just thread with no head stuck in there

That’s super strange lol.. maybe someone did an exhaust job half assed and didn’t tighten the bolts down right. You may have to buy new hardware and just make sure to tighten it properly as obviously when you drive around the vibration of the exhaust combined with road vibration can cause it to loosen up

Didn’t realize that your studs snapped in there.. that’s unfortunate .. trying maybe heating it up with a torch and if there’s enough stud left take a set of pliers and try to undo it

Exhaust sounds incredible but I do wish there were driving clips that weren't right on the pipe since no one is gonna hear it from there...? Just doesn't seem like a real assessment, either in the cab or from the sidewalk might be a better assessment

There def is some drone but it is not over bearing.. took it to Philly a few times (about 2 hours away) and it wasn’t terrible I guess it all depends how much drone is over all annoying to you haha

Sooo apparently this exhaust will fit the 1.8 no problem as confirmed by a few different people who have installed it! A little wiggling here and there but it works! I would check and ask circuit werks but you should be good to use this one

So I get this question a lot.. I have had people tell me they’ve been able to fit it on their 1.8 with no problem. Being that it is only the cat back I don’t see any issue with that. Best thing to do though is to email or dm the company and see what they say just to be safe

I hope so! The company Has gone back and forth stating that it may be in stock by December but they always told other people it may be early 2021.. covid really messed them up I guess.. best thing to do would be to dm or email them about the next time they’ll get the exhaust in

@@DArias I've been having a ratllr that just annoys the hell out of me coming from a broken spot weld on the down pipe and no clamp fixes it so it just annoys me. Waiting till I have a weekend and time to remove every heat shield
