A couple of years ago Thomas Lang gave a video tour of his drum room at his house. He showed his signature drum sticks and said that he uses the broken sticks in the fire place. He said that the hickory gave off a wonderful smell.

Are we seriously having a conversation about whether or not Thomas Lang is slowly poisoning himself with all the laquer'd sticks he may or may not be burning in his fireplace. Guys, this is our Saving Private Ryan. We have to save Thomas Lang! 😮
It would be fun to watch you do a drumstick blindfold test to determine if you can guess the taper, tip, and artist from feel alone.
I appreciate the effort in trying to play in the style of each artist. Nice job!
Best signature stick for me are the Benny Greb Signatures, The Buddy Rich Signatures, and The Ray Luzier signatures

Lovely video mate! Really dig your take on all these sticks and from trying a lot of them myself I surely agree with your opinions🤞🏼
Todd Sucherman sticks revolutionized my playing, particularly ghosts and shuffles. Just discovered your channel. Great content! Subscribed.
Fun series idea. Signature gear is usually good for most people that is a fan of that particular artist, but for someone to go through some of the options will help some people who might be looking to try something new. I'm sticking (see what I did there) with Vic Firth 5a until Mike Johnston's new signature stick gets finished, but this was fun. Oh and congrats on your signature stick! That ending shot of you rolling them on the snare towards the camera was chef's kiss level perfection too!
I missed the Gave Harrison Stick and you thoughts about the coating. Nice video. Looking forward to the other parts.
Love your editing!
Travis barkers sticks… I hit super hard and play frequently…. Have had the same pair for over a year… a close second for me is buddy rich… his sticks feel great and are very versatile.
Snagged some I Prevail sticks with 19 left in stock! Love the video Gabe, awesome as always.
I've had a pair of JoJo Mayer ones for like 5 years, I've been using them every day and they haven't broken or gotten too shredded on the sides at all. I love them, I recently got another pair and they're still only 10$. Unreal stuff.
Awesome editing and filmmaking skills!
Was that the team edge music in the video for your sticks? Super happy for you to launch these sticks and new merch! Just bought the shirt
I personally love the Steve Gadd signature Sticks. I've been playing with them for years now and I havent found a better pair since. Although they're not meant for playing metal, i use them for it and it works great. I might want to try out the Danny Carrey sticks, because I tried them out one and they felt great too (very different but great). I'd be interested in your opinion on both of them.
Thanks this really helps ad I'm looking into a Christmas gift for my band teacher who is also a percussion major

I've been playing the Tony Royster 2 for about a year and I absolutely love them
Haven’t tried a whole lot of signature sticks but of the ones I’ve tried, the Benny Grebs feel the best to me, but I always find myself going back to extreme 5A’s and X55A’s. They just feel perfect to me and always have
Playing in the style of each drummer's signature sticks !!!! Awesome !!!
The editing in the channel is slick man and Jojo Mayer sticks great
Love you channel!!!! Your kits beautiful and sounds great what kit is this by the way?
Pumped for this series
Very good! Would be nice to see some signature snares and cymbals next! Perhaps some stacks and stuff like that.
Really enjoyed your review of the sticks. It seemed like you were impressed by the Matt Garska sticks. I would love to see what you think of Buddy Rich signature sticks. They are my sticks of choice so far. Plus it would be interesting to see you play in that type of genre and his style. Thanks for your awesome videos! I know this would be cumbersome but besides sticks I would love to see your reviews and thoughts of your favorite drum heads, why they are your favorite and how you tune them. I know you could spend 5 videos on this alone. Haha.
I'm a 5B guy, i play from 3A's to 2B's depending on the mood, the style and the sound i'm looking for. HD9, and X55B's are some of my favorites. I'm currently using the Matt Grainer's and Eric Singer's signature, I've tried many signature models over the years. Buddy Rich, Matt Cameron, Chris Coleman are really nice. I'd like to try Royster, Garstka, Luzier, Kollias, Bissonette, Carey, Harrison etc. Greb's signature are 5B's with a shortened tip, i don't find too much difference with the regular 5B though...
I used to use the Josh Freese H-220 sticks and Chad Smith funk blasters. These days I mostly use vic firth x5a
I love my Benny Greb sticks, always super consistent, so responsive, and it lasts a long time, never disappoints.
Damn, ranking signature stuff is such a good idea!
I‘ve been waiting a long time for this video

Hope it was worth the wait!!
You should try out Carmine Appice's sticks next. They’re super unique.
I play Vic Firth 7A nylon tips, I've got small hands so that's what feels best. That being said I also own a pair of Matt Gartskas sticks and they are so cool. They don't feel as heavy or as big in my hands and I feel like I can still be quick with them
I have the Jojo, Greiner and Benny's signature drumsticks and I felt and feel the same as you: Jojo's too short and because I sweat a little bit it drops off my hands easier, Benny's are a 5B but with another tip that I liked it too but for me the Greiner's are the best cause I've been gripping the sticks at the edge and the extra length works really well for me.
Dang, was curious to see a review of the Danny Carey sticks. That’s what I’m playing at the moment.

As a side note, the Matt Greiner sticks were spec'd in metric (41.75cm) which ends up as a weird fraction in inches. Just thought I'd toss that in.

Eric Singer's Zildjian sticks and Mike Mangini's Wicked Piston from Vatar will blow your mind!
I use 55A are the best for me! But I used Benny Greb too and I'm agree with you, the feel are perfect for me 💙
Great Video dude. You have to do the Buddy Rich signature sticks in the next round.
My favorite signature drum stick is the Buddy Rich Drumstick.
i think this is a great series idea held back by endorsement limitations :( there is so much to see and hear if only we could see gear from everyone
My favorite signature stick is the Vic Firth Charlie Watts stick, it works very well for my playing style
oh my goodness there are sooooooooo much more signature sticks to test out. and even so many from vic firth.
Fun video... thanks
what’s your opinion on sticks with a rubber grip material or add ons like grip tape? i generally have a similar experience with blisters so i’m curious if you’ve messed with them before and have a similar experience.

You are a true hero!
I for years played the Travis Barker signature stick, either the white or black, but got tired of playing cymbals and heads with white or black paint all over them, plus consistency was always a huge issue. I eventually went "back" to the Tommy Lee Studio Sticks by Ahead. I do still miss the tip of my TB sticks, but aware I can get new tips. My biggest beef with the ahead sticks, is that after changing sleeves, which is a helluva chore in the first place, the tips have come off on me twice. Now, that doesn't seem too severe, until you realize what that means. It means that twice once on my DW's and once on my Roland's, I have beat my drums with a piece of aluminum with harsh threading on it. At least on my DW's it happened on new heads day, and totally decimated the 1 hour old set of heads, along with cracking my 2002 20" medium crash "yeah, ouch" and the 2nd time I managed to get through the 1st 2 plys of my 3 layer Roland $100 snare head, and my PDX proprietary $45 each tom pad heads. Yes, a normal drummer in a live setting would've caught this much faster than half a song later, but I'm not a normal drummer. I was in buds both times, and I'm legally blind, so didn't notice right away. With that being said, in the 3 years I've played these, including the cost of the cymbals and heads, I'm still WAAAAAAY under my former wood stick budget over a comparable playing time avg. I've literally replaced 1 pair of sticks, and 3 sets of shaft covers in 3 years. That's literally about $40 a year for drum sticks, and since I just because bought a new set that I've exclusively played on my electronics, those still look mint condition! Absolutely not a single mark on either stick. Coming from 2 to 3 pairs of $13 TB's a month, to 1 set a year "sort of, but less really" I am still a stonch supporter of the Ahead sticks, even with the flaws and inadvertent gear damage. On an aside, between these 2 sticks, I play "Sam Ash Specials" a generic b grade stick that turned out just about the same quality, style and feel of the $10 more per pair Zildjians. In my experience anything that says Zildjian on it, that's not made of b20 alloy is total garbage!
I used to love the Quest Love custom but found they gave me blisters at a rate way above other sticks. They are ABSURDLY light, I really get the toothpick analogy, but it was the rubber grips that eventually killed it for me. I eventually settled on the Dave Weckl signature as my favorites. They just really fit how I want to hold the stick and the bounce lines up with where I usually want my grooves to be.
Using the david garibaldi for almost 10years. Big and light with a nice tipp to do some swinging in between
Lol That stick promo looked like if Pepsi made a stick commercial, love it!
I would have Like to see your thoughts on the Buddy Rich Signature but the Matt Garstka was close enough. However it'd be cool to add Signature Snares From Pearl to the series, seeing the New Matt Halpern Snare.👀
When i saw that you finally dropped your signature sticks I literally bought them right away before I even knew about the prizes 😃😃
Should’ve thrown in the buddy rich sticks. So much bounce from those
im on the Virgil Donati assaults, they are heavy but work for me
I use the Benny Greb and love them
Very great series due!!! And a little bit humble suggestion, I think your voice and drums sound a bit dry due to the soundproof work. If you can add some echo would be very great!!!

So glad you dig it!
When you played Benny’s sticks was the playing inspired by one of his recent Instagram posts? 🧐 kinda cool if you ask me 😄
Chris Coleman’s sticks are made with love. That where the Chinese and Japanese symbol is from. It meant love. I also have so many signature sticks. The two I don’t have that you have in the video are Chris Coleman and Tony Royster Jr’s second model. Thomas Lang model is coming soon to my doorstep. I have the same amount of signature sticks you have on the video. I am also a Vic Firth freak who loves to play Vic Firth sticks. Nice comparison. I also personally like Both Benny Greb and Matt Garstka signature sticks. Very versatile for both speed and durability.
Gabe is the best put more vids like this and playthroughs
How did you get that sound on your left snare drum?
Can you do one with Travis barkers signature zildjian sticks
My favourite signature stick, which is my stick of choice actually, is the Promark Matt Halpern sticks. 16”, short taper, .620” diameter, barrel (large round) tip. Does the work for me.

Jojo sticks are my favorite! I’m a little bit of a shorter guy so I feel that these sticks are made for me. Granted I’ve used other sticks that feel good but these just work for me. I’ve been using the Keith Carlock signature sticks for years before finding the jojo Mayer sticks.

my favorite are the ronald bruner jr. signature zildjians, they just seem to work great for all styles
Man, I wanted the signature sticks. Tried to buy on the 1st day but wouldn't work. Any idea when they'll be re-released?
I am using Buddy Richs Sticks for more than 4 Years now and i fucking love them
Jen Ledgers signatures are some of my favorite to play with. They are heavy enough to be durable but not too heavy to restrict ghost notes and more intricate things. They have a blended tip and are long for people who like high cymbals. And the specs are somewhat close to the X55As.. why I sound like a car dealer?😭😂😂
NOICE ! loved it !!!!!
My favorite signature stick is Thomas Lang. It’s got a wonderful balanced feel to it.
hey Gabe I wanna really see some other signature sticks too but not all great drummers represent vic firth and honestly I would love to see you review some signature sticks which are not Vic firths .... For example mike manginis sticks etc
I love the Chris Coleman sticks. You have to up your game when it comes to control but they aren't made for the weak at heart. You gotta play like you mean it. They improved my playing exponentially. Also the Benny grebbs are a bit like 5B's to me. They are amazing.
can you do a video with other sticks companies?

nice video as always, after all, I have always found the signature drumsticks a commercial gimmick that in the end can also be there, what I never understood is because, at least in Italy, Vic sticks are very often a poor choice, crooked and unbalanced. Maybe for Vic we are a second-tier market
Not labeled as a Vic Firth but I know they produce them. My stick choice is the Travis Barker Signatures!

Awesome video!! It would’ve been cool to see shorter models (I think the Keith Moon is 15”) or one the very different styles like the Travis Barker (which feels like a very different wood, maybe maple) or the Danny Carey (which has an indent in the grip area). I’ve been using the Buddy Rich sticks for years and interestingly I decided to try out X55As this week. @drumveatsonline could you explain how your signature sticks are different from standard X55As? I played Fibes 3S... the biggest sticks made. I played very fast late seventies and eighties and was able to play light. I took me a year before I could control them. I was breaking three sets of 2B sticks a night so this was too expensive for a new band on a budget and was given these sticks because of my destruction of sticks.
