We will cover so common questions and myths with hair care and then jump right on into products for each hair type.
Not only will you get a specific product to use, but guidance on what will work for your hair, so that you can make better purchases on your own.
Don't use 2-in-1s if you care about your hair looking good. They contradict eachother. Shampoo wants to clean hair, Conditioner wants to leave goodies in it. Combining them means the goodies of conditioner get washed out and it is likely to leave your hair dry and dull looking as a result. Remember, the name of the game with hair is keeping those roof shingle like cuticles that surround the your hair fibre to lay flat. When they lay flat, your hair looks nicer and is less prone to frizz.
A big common myth with men's hair is that washing your hair frequently or less frequently impacts the amount of oils that your scalp produces. This is false, the sebaceous glands in your scalp that produce sebum(oil), don't have a way of knowing if your hair is oily or not and the rate or production does not change. You may just feel like your hair gets more oily when you wash it more frequently because your scalp is going from 0 oil to a baseline of oil very quickly and so it seems like more is being produced.
Another myth is around parabens, sulfates, and silicones. Do not worry about specific ingredients in your products. This all comes from fear-mongering perpetuated by natural or "clean" brands and is unfounded. There are panels of toxicologists and chemists who examine these ingredients and there is zero issue with them at the amounts used in your product. If you slathered on products with parabens for an entire day, you still would get more in your system from eating blueberries.
Sulfates are a surfactant, or cleanser in normal terms, they are strongly negatively charged, which makes them stronger than other surfactants that do not have a charge or have less of a negative charge. This doesn't mean they are bad for you, they do a very good job at cleaning. There is a big difference between having a product that is 30% sulfates and one that is 5% sulfates combined with other ingredients to make the sulfate more mild. Formulation is key. If you have dry hair type, could be best to avoid these though.
Silicones are one of the best things for your hair looking smooth, shiny and overall healthy. They take the place of plant oils that can be greasy feeling and leave the hair looking lank, depending on how much is used.
Product wise everything depends on your hair. Asian hair is very different from African hair, which is very different from Scandinavian Hair. Asian hair tends to be thicker with a round hair shaft, African hair has a flat shaft and has kinks in it, and Blonde caucasian hair often is thinner, but with more follicles.
The thinner the hair, the more likely someone is to be of the oily hair type, as oil can spread through a thin hair strand much more easily than a thick one.
So first for Oily hair types/Thin and possibly thinning hair types.
You want a shampoo that has high cleansing power and a conditioner that brings mild conditioning to the hair. A really strong option here the DS Laboratories Revita Shampoo
Normal hair you can pretty much use anything, but middle of the road products work very nicely. Personally love Kiehl's for a nice middle of the road on cleansing power and conditioning.
For Dry hair, you have a few options here.Try using a hair oil before washing your hair. A leave in conditioner after cleansing your hair. Or do what is called co-washing. Where you wash your hair with conditioner and use Shampoo once every 2-3 weeks.

Love it. Thank you mate. So I use Regenepure Dr or Revita Hair Stimulating Shampoo. Then the following morning I use a leave in conditioner followed up with a hair oil (Argan oil of Morocco or garnier Argan oil). Hair looks glorious the next day when I do this. I find a leave in product is required for hair to look real good the first day after a wash.

@@sonny297 thank you! also revita or Regenepure for this. Yeah, well conditioned hair is a large part of what makes someone’s hair look good or not. Assuming they have a half decent haircut. I have found the conditioner I use to not matter too much, as long as I am using a leave in product.

@@sonny297 I prefer dry hair, but it isn’t a big deal to do damp hair. They are really good to use on damp hair if you are gonna use a blow dryer, as they provide good heat protection.

To tackle my hair fall, I started meditating everyday and switched to littlllextra cocooniion shampoo and used the cococoonion hair oil. Over time, this routine started working, and the amount of hair I was losing also started reducing. Today, I can say that almost 80% of hair loss is reduced, with confidence that it will keep on reducing.

I don't have oily or thin hair, so I haven't tried anything outside those. I would grab something from the drugstore that specifies that. Look for a lighter conditioner.

So if you have oily hair like that, there's a good chance you have thinner hair follicles, which is more common for light haired caucasian folk. This is difficult to address, but a shampoo or serum with salicylic acid can be helpful here as that can have an impact on oil regulation/production. Additionally a hair powder or dry shampoo can help soak up some of the oil. When you use conditioner, try to just apply it to the tips of your hair, though that's more difficult with a short hair cut. Also ensuring your conditioner isn't too rich. Haven't tried the, but Neutrogena amzn.to/3tNpXdH has a shampoo. Or inkey list has a serum. Let me know if any of that is helpful.

Do you have any suggestions for me? I’m growing my hair it’s below my shoulder and I have fine straight hair very little wave at the ends, but my scalp is very oily with dry tips and I have slight dandruff especially on the sides.

  • @The.ModernMan

    @The.ModernMan

    10 ай бұрын

Yeah, so first determine if the dandruff is from dry scalp, or if it's from underlying things like yeast. Dry scalp means use different products/frequencies, yeast means use a product with ketoconazole. Salicylic acid may be a great option for tackiling the oily scalp and dandruff simultaneously. When you wash your hair, focus the shampoo at the roots, vs the ends. Then definitely use leave in products on the tips to keep the ends in good condition.
