The BEST Seat Swivels For Vanlife??? Alpine Mechanisms Install + Review
There are many choices for aftermarket seat swivels in van conversions, and I think that alpine mechanisms are the best. This video covers how to install them as well as a review of how they work.

You are doing a great job! I really look forward to each of your videos. I really appreciate how you don't hide the stuff that goes wrong or any mistakes you make. I respect that and learn a lot from you.
Love your videos. Good that they provided you with the seats. The least they can do since you did such a great job showing how great those seats are and how easy to install them. Great job.
SOOOO helpful. just installed a passenger swivel using this video. thank you so much.
Ps: your videos give us confidence in building up our camper. Really thankful
Thank you for the video. I love your energy and detailed information on all your videos. Cheers 🍻
I love your build videos. You really try to cover every step clearly and explain things in relevant detail. TY!!

@@seven_o_savage Please be sure to let us know how anyone shorter, sitting in those seats that are so high, feel about dangly feet and the solution if need be. I'm only 5'9" and I don't know how I'd fix that if it's uncomfortable. 🤔

@@seven_o_savage Thanks! 💋
Always clearly explained and demonstrated.
Thanks for great videos! I also purchased the alpines and put them in! I am also going to use the magnets for the ceiling panels. Great inspiration!
I installed one on my passenger side and it is a game changer for sure!!! It's like having a recliner now 😆
This video will be so helpful for anybody installing those swivels
I love your videos! You’re funny! And I’m learning a lot! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge on the installation.
You are not a sellout... great job on video
I love that locking mechanism definitely going to invest in a set of these
That new "do hickey" at 6:10 looks like its job is to keep the seat from rotating the "wrong direction", and preventing the seat from going around 360 which could eventually mess up the wiring.
Always such helpful info. Even though I don’t have a Sprinter, I am inspired to see how easy it is to install a swivel. Makes me curious to see what’s out there for my little Ford connect.
Nice narration... thank you.
Pretty impressive Seven. This takes much fear out of doing this as I didn't think you could do this with the automatic seats but you obviously can.
Just ordered mine using your affiliate link! Hope u get a little cheddar from Alpine! Keep these dope vids coming!
Awesome swivels. Sold! Did you read this Alpine Swivels? Especially like the giant hole in the middle so that, unlike other brands, you do not need to de-pin the large wire connectors. I would like two snap-in filters in those holes, split for the wire loom, to keep the dust and pet hair out of the seat bases where my electronics and Espar Heater are. Yes I use a filter on the side but that heater pulls a lot of air. Thanks for showing us that this can be done on power seats. Most swivel installs I’ve watched are with manual seats. And showing how to avoid airbag codes. My 2019 has that small backup battery under the drivers seat. With negative cable disconnected I still hear noise when drivers door is open. I was concerned I’d still get a code. Probably a memory saver function.
Thanks: Excellent content. Swivel seats not possible to order on my 2022 - so for swivel seats I just need to buy and install these swivel bases and use the factory seats provided by MB. Good solution.
Awesome!
Good video! However, if you are installing the driver swivel on a sprinter 144, the parking brake relocation bracket will cause your brake cable to rub against the metal sheeting that surrounds the gas tank. In my install I was so pre-occupied with the grommet that I initially didn't notice the brake cable rubbing cutting into this metal sheet. When installing on a 144 you need to consider actually adjusting the parking brake cable length to make the swivel work
"I use extra long ones to compensate.. for my strength" 💪
I’m sure you can make a fabric cover to hide the green plates, keep dust and dirt out and increase the spiffiness quotient!
Dope AF.
Mr. Savage 7, I love this build, man it is so cool, Almost as cool as my build but your more there than I am. I saw a flash of an air con system in one of your vids......very keen to know about it..do you have a video coming up soon? I have looked at many AC system so far...one from Jarads vids with a $4000 AC system to a Zero breeze Dc system that some are using now. Can you show us yours please?
Thank you Seven!!! Another Good Video! My one issue is the Alpine swivels are "offset" and squeeze the space in center aisle area when rotated (It looks like 4-6 inches of lost space...) I feel that can limit their functionality. On the plus side, the quality level does seem very high. ??? do the factory seat swivels operate in the same manner? Cheers, Mo
Thank you for your video. The grommet is not there! I'm surprised, because I have the same issue, and after 5 years, that area is all rusted, of which I have to get under the cable channel and clean it out and weatherproof it, yet provide a hole for potential drainage in case water gets into the channel. There are two holes, make sure you get the right part.
cool video bro. where will you place your diesel heater?
I can’t wait to get my sprinter! Do you recommend 4 x 4??
You’re amazing....!
Great viddy! Do these work with heated, power seats?
Hey Steven, Great videos! I love your affect! You could be cousins with Nate at "Channel Makers"
Hey Seven O Savage Glad to see you getting products from companies. Totally trust you giving a truthful review. Thanks for another great video.
Bruh! My fellow Cali- boy! You are by far my favorite van lifer. Excellent educator. Quick question. I might have missed it in your bed Build video, but where do you get the foam for beds and mattresses and cushioning from?

Helpful video. Thank you. I have two question I hope you can answer. Does the offset bring the two seats too close together to be useable at 90-degrees (facing each other)? If you had non-offset swivels, do you think the doors could be closed with the seats at 90-degrees (facing each other) and the seatbacks still at comfortable angles? Thank you.
I’m 6’0” but lots of my passengers are shorter. I might look into chopping the passenger pedestal if the espar still clears
"Swivilliage" has now been added to the human vocabulary. :D

so if you want to swivel the seat you have to unlock the bolt on the backside of the chair in stead on the front like oem mercedes swiffelseats ? great install vid thanks !!!

Hi! I have a question where did you buy the lowering bracket, i have a problem on turning my seats.
Tried installing swivel base for my 2004 GMC Savana but wasn’t enough space on the driver side kept jamming into steering wheel and sidewall so returned it. Passenger side finally swim old but need to open doors some. Thinking will need really drill holes for driver side and try a different swivel any suggestions?
Hey 7, so I did great on the right seat swivel, but I forgot to plug the wires back in on the left seat until after I started the engine. Now I have a message every time I start my van, and I can’t figure out how to make it go away without paying Mercedes. Anybody know how? My OBD was no help. It said No Codes. GREAT VIDEOS!!!
Any concern that they aren’t DOT certified? It looks like the 4 bolts would be the weakest part of the system? Looking at these. But they are the highest price (willing to pay) and not certified.
Mercedes can’t supply and deleted from my build, arriving next week. Only took 8 months. But the Mercedes swivel option was $600 for both seats. These Alpine units are $575 EACH! Dang!?!
Was the time & effort of the install well worth the money you saved from factory install?
Just to confirm you have a fully electric seat? And had no issues wiring through the swivel, I thought I would have an issue ordering an electric seat on my crew and then adding swivels
Also, there’s a Dewalt 20v grinder and heat gun I don’t have? I thought I was keeping up with you.
Def want you to feel good about yourself lol I wonder what can be do to improve the aesthetic of the base {besides paint}?
Did you think about using the wasted space under the passenger seat ?
Really, really wish they had these for the Ford Transit.

They said soon!
Why would they put the release/locking lever behind your back instead of putting it right between your legs. What’s the thought process on that?
How do they compare to the Scopema?
So you cant swivel the seat without getting up right?
I watch ad for youuuuu . .
I've seen a lot of swivel seat videos, but I have yet to see one that shows how far the driver's side seat can recline. I know it's limited because of the steering wheel. My plan is to use the seats as ghetto recliners and office chairs. When swiveled, can you recline the driver's seat back far enough to be comfortable to sit in it for 3 hours?
@seven_o_savage

Pretty far back definitely comfortable enough for long periods of time, but not like fully horizontal recliner status. The passenger side you can go ridiculously far back

@@seven_o_savage Sweet! Thank you for the help.
Why would they locate the release knob at the back of the seat? That location seems to be a problem as it would be hard to reach it while sitting in the seat. Are you certain they were not installed backward. It just seems like the release should be in the front for ease of use.
Did anyone try to instal it on Honda Odyssey? If so any issues?
6’5” !!! 😵😵😵. You’re a whole foot taller than me! No fair. ☹️
No airbag fault light after reinstalling the seats? Having that issue.

You can, which is how the factory swivels work. Installing them aftermarket is quite a job though (on the drivers side at least)
for that price they should look A LOT better
Not gonna lie... them's is expensive! Are there less expensive alternatives for poor farmer folk? 🙂
