You're wrong on the spurs one, Tim Duncan for sure had an amazing rookie season. But David Robinson (Center) had 24-25 points a game, 4 blocks a game, 12 rebounds a game and 1.7 steals a game as a rookie. Compared to Duncans 21 points, 2.5 blocks, 11.9 rebounds and .7 steals. Robinson got drafted by a team that went 21-61 and his rookie year took them to 56-26 and took took them to the second round where they lost in game 7.

That is a stat that really separates Bird in the goat conversation. No other player have this level of this Stat. It reflects badly on this video that it was ignored.

@@georgemccormick4786 Got it right for Baylor over Magic but didn't for Bird. The number of wins the season after is the best indicator unless the team also acquired another all star at the same time. 29 wins to 61 wins. Even after acquiring Parish and McHale they only increased the win total by one the following year. Bird was basically the first of that three time NBA championship squad. Baylor took a bottom feeder club to the NBA championship. Baylor had nearly twice as many PPG than the next man on the Lakers. He also led the club in assists and played over 40 minutes/game. He did the same thing with his stats the following year as the Lakers lost the Western Conference Final. Finally the third year they got West to help (Baylor still had twice as many points as West in his first year).

Baylor didn't have Wilkes, Cooper, or Nixon let alone Jabbar for Games 1-5. Wilkes scored 37 points in that Finals game. Jabbar didn't win Finals MVP even though he scored 12 more PPG than Magic, had 2 more RPG than Magic, and an eye popping 4.6 Blocks per game. They don't win the Finals without either Jabbar or Wilkes.
