The best RIFLE SLINGS!

I take a look over two of my favourite ways to carry a hunting rifle. The moroka30 Stalker Sling and the ZERO QR sling.

As a Canadian, there really aren't a lot of options like this available here and I actually had a tough time finding good ones online. I ordered both of these because of this video and they just arrived yesterday. I really like them so far, I haven't field tested them but they seem like they're gonna be awesome. Thanks

I have finally gone for the Stalker Sling after putting up with conventional rifle slings for way to long. The old system requires a hand bent at the elbow holding your sling so it doesn’t slip off the shoulder. Limiting and annoying and on a long walk my old elbow starts to cramp up. Looking forward to getting it from Moroku30. I also got the Talarik Sling hook to keep the sling shoulder strap from intruding into my neck. Thanks for the heads up on that on another vid.

Great video Daz. The issue I always pay very close attention to, is the balance between having the rifle ready to go on a deer or hog that stands in its bed, yet not flagging others with the muzzle. Although I appreciate the work and effort that has gone into these slings I don't see how they can minimize the flagging issue when not hunting solo. They potentially make it worse. I have watched a number of videos in the last two years with young blokes in them hunting in high country where they flag each other. It is a issue every hunter should be extremely observant of and not backward in speaking up about it to offending hunting partners. I would value your thoughts on these issues.

A very valid point Dave. I’m very muzzle conscious especially around fellow hunters. I get heaps of video from wide angle lenses that make it look like my rifle is flagging the guy in front but I can absolutely assure you it’s not. Camera angles do strange things from certain angles. In fact I’ve had more rifles pointed at me as they are un shouldered and witnessed accidental discharges from standard slings than I’d like to remember. I suppose the main point I always come back to is every individual is responsible to keep their muzzle in a safe direction at all times. Regardless of slung, stowed or carried. There are multiple ways this sling can be hitched to keep the muzzle high or across if your around others. Personally, if your in front of me you’ll know two things. The man behind you isn’t loaded and he won’t be flagging you 👍🏾

@@IntotheMountains Daz the videos I have seen were not yours. The video footage was tight in and there was no mistaking the flagging. I did PM the bloke in question and he was gracious in accepting the criticism and agreed more attention should be paid. As you and I know it is more often than not the unloaded gun goes off unexpectedly. Your are right on point that it does not matter the carry method, Muzzle awareness is the trump card in the mountains.

This is the exact reason I choose to not use my Stalker Sling. I love the 'idea' of it but in practicality I feel that it's an unsafe option unless hunting alone. Great idea, but totally unsafe... esp in the hands of morons.

I've found some cheap Amazon seatbelt pads have made my Safari Slings a lot more comfortable, in my light synthetic carbine it wasn't too bad but in my wood stocked magnum the sling would dig into my neck, by day two I wanted to throw the rifle off a cliff. When these wear out (which surprisingly they are showing damage after only 3-4 seasons, the black more than the camo) I'm definitely going to look into some of these others you've shown, looks like the concept has been improved upon.

I hear ya Albert! Those seatbelt type fabric ones really cut into your neck after a while. This padded system is vastly improved. 👍🏾

Hi Andrew, I like to have it just behind my right shoulder about half way up. You’ll need to play around with the right fit as the pack depth, rifle length and your body size will all come into play

If you have a tactical/long range rifle get a biathlon sling. Takes all the weight out of carrying the rifle but you trade off being able to wear a backpack.
