I've just been inspired to buy some of those down booties.
Cheers for the video. Moved down to the base of the high country last year and heading out to do some solo stuff
Awesome vid daz I’ve been waiting for ages for a pack dump from one of, in my opinion our no 1 aussie backpack hunters love your work mate no hidden bit just a in-depth reasoning to why you pack certain things 👍 hope the next trip is a success.

Cheers mate, if there is enough interest I may do the variants that I use for our conditions. This is a fairly basic set up and a few things can be shared between the group. Solo can be very different etc. thanks for your support mate. Happy hunting 👍🏾
The old Helinox chair is a bloody life saver. On my first pack hunt I pulled it out around the fire and my mate was like what’s that!! He was sceptical on it, thinking it would be flimsy and break. Next backpack trip he pulled one out 😂 if you can’t beat them, join them 👍

I was the same mate. We laughed at the first guy but by the end of the trip all fought for the chair. On the wet trips they are well worth their weight!!!

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. Which gloves do you use when on stalking trips? Thank you
@IntotheMountains

I use a few different ones depending on conditions but my favourite are from downhill mountain bike companies. They make great gloves that are breathable, grippy and close fitting.
Nice set up! Any more details on that grill? Where to get em?

It’s been a while since I saw them for sale mate. There was a company, I think I’m WA. Not 100% I think it’s called Australian survival supplies. They have a frillneck lizard on the logo. They used to stock the grills. 👍🏾
Good info Daz, pack weights are always asked so what weight you aiming at when packing for 5-7 days minus the camera gear, then what’s your weight with all your camera gear? Cheers and good luck on your trip.
@IntotheMountains
Жыл бұрын
Hey mate. Pack weights are usually stated without food and water as that is only variation. So my 3 day load out is the same as 5-7days just more food. I plan for 7-800g per day. As a general rule of thumb your pack weight should not exceed one third of your body weight. As bigger guys need bigger bags, mats, tents, packs and viseVersa this scales. This entire set up with optics is 16kg. I just add food, water and rifle.

Hey Dan! Sleeping bag? I’m using an old model sea 2 summit bag. The equivalent of it now is called the ascent 3. -18 rating is perfect for our winters in the right sleep system. Give me a call or pop in and I can elaborate for you mate 👍🏾

It’s mostly stalking country this time so either the 202 in 9.3 or if I need to cut the grams the sako carbonlight in 7mm. Will decide once all my food and water is loaded.
Question: is the Rolex going? 😜👌
