The amount of transitions Raven has is a lot more than Maven’s. Not only does he have better combo options, but the mixups he gets from his core mids, makes him way easier to use than Maven.

I love Raven. His Ninjutsu is really at a new level

Could u maybe do a video on the basics of controlling the opponents timing? Or maybe explain a replay of a match and point out timings and how people get hits/time their steps, etc. Against their specific opponent. Ive been watching a lot of tourney's recently and just suddenly became aware that people are poking and stuff at specific timings to bring their opponent in or exploit their timing. Just watched speedkicks video dissecting a T5 Knee and Qudans match, and its really helped my understanding of why pokes and stuff are so respected, and why movement is so important. Timing really feels like something that doesnt have a go-to basic explanation i can give to friends trying to get better either.

I feel like raven is side graded to maven in terms of power. Something’s got nerfed but some stuff is stronger in heat he’s pretty good but I think he’s weaker then a lot of the characters especially out of heat

Thing is in compare to t7 Maven he has weaker bt stance but ..his neutral and soulzone is much better. Also his mixups are better. So overal he isnt worst - ppl said this cuz they compare him to t7 playstyle and t8 is just different. And i think for t8 mechanic and playstyle he is buffed in compare to maven.

@@Staff7 with 41 is different story - if we watch on it as an another combo starter then yes but raven in t8 is different - he is heavy neutral oriented so in this case 41 as a jailing move is much more usefull. So overal 41 is just different - thats my opinion PS qcf1 -- yep im crying about that but you know bt 1+2 KND again - better than nothing

I think Raven is a character you have to Lab, which is why he seems to many people who don't play him regularly as "a really strong character", but I have to disagree. Compared to the rest of the cast, imo he's bottom 10 in terms of power. His heat is the only thing that even brings him to speed, but other characters without heat don't risk as much and have better utility out of heat. Raven literally kills himself if he attempts to do any of the new stuff he was given, since most of his doppelganger extensions are all -14 on block out of heat, really limits his usage of them, even in this video you can see Haze, really only did his doppelganger extensions only while in heat or if he was out of heat, just in combos. He knows the risks that come with using them in the neutral, specially vs characters with a dedicated 14f Launcher. In terms of power, Maven is stronger when we talking about the base kit, if we take heat into consideration, Raven is stronger, but Maven as a base character is just better imo.

If he can hitconfirm df1,4 he will be very strong tournament contender. In online matches you will win by using SZN 4 into ws2 and by always commiting to full strings 😂🎉 during the t8 showcase not even the pros punished the -14 clones!! Maybe he aint the strongest but with these tools I see no problem in the quest for the win. -tekkengod maven player

I run into Haze every once in awhile in 7. I beat him almost every time. He doesn't know the Gigas matchup and doesn't seem to want to as he never rematches. Always wild matches, though.

Yeah Haze def has weakspots. I watched Speedkicks run a train on him with a pocket Jack a few months ago. Speed barely knows the Raven matchup at all but Haze was getting cooked by basic ff1 spam. I get he's probably the most well known Raven specialist but it doesn't carry much weight to say Best NA Raven, when there aren't any NA Raven players putting up noteworthy results in tournaments.

Never heard of him or seen him in tournaments

Can't wait for everybody to play raven now and get smacked because raven is actually a difficult character. W vid w haze

Good video! One thing that bothered me a little is the jump cuts during the rounds, I wish I could have watched them uninterrupted. The cuts kind of ruin the suspence of it all, for me at least.

Raven seems really weak and Azu seems OD

Raven looks cool and has flashy move sets but overall comes off as a slow and weak character that's unsafe.

Ew no. He just has been playing maven for awhile so he already memorized the buttons and has an idea on what works. You only been playing azu for a few days at max. You haven't lobbed the character enough to swap up your options on command and he just ducked and side stepped everything. To nerf raven would almost be like them needing giga$$ when he came out

He's not getting nerfed bro, he still doesnt have a good standing +frame low from neut or Bt, both db4 & d4 leave him fc, d3 is still 0 on hit and Bt d4 is - lol. Soulzone4 and Bt f3 are only +2 on hit so they can step stuff. Also you were pressing on his new extentions on df1 and db2,1. You will totally own this Mu in a month or two. Nerf Vic already! haha yours is gonna be scary as:) ❤❤

@@PhiDXit’s way too choppy and honestly disorienting. As a professional player you know that Tekken is so much more than hits. There’s movement and mind games. The way that this is edited I literally have no idea who is winning the entire match until I see the counter and at the same time I have no understanding of the skill level involved because there is no movement or neutral shown. It’s just hits and a combo straight into a cut

@@PhiDX I just prefer to see the whole match. I’ve never really seen a fighting game channel that does the highlight style. Just seems kind of odd and jarring.
